I continue listening to the conversation but ready myself to attack at the first sign of an opening. Crouching besides a tree and in front of a bush I hide deeper into the shadows.

Hide +18 and then listen +15. Poor defenseless monk he realy is unlucky.

Well, I may as well roll without the screen, I didn't last time because it was pointless even with my huge wisdom score.
+11 spot
+7 move silently
The strange lizard-man turns to the wolf and says,
"Did you hear something.....yes, well I imagine that you've suffered some hearing damage from having to listne to yourself walking....no I am not imagining things!.....Look, right over by that tree, here let me prove it to you."
He turns towards you and says,
"you, traveler. What business do you have in this forest?"

I rise up into veiw seeing as how he seen me, my bow still notched and at my side. My buisness involves your clumsy compatriot, it seems he has it in mind that he can just walk away from justice. I'm just the middleman to return him to the authorities or be his exucutioner if need be.
PostPosted: Sun Aug 13, 2006 8:41 pm

I have only one traveling companion and she has never left my side this entire time. To my knowledge, we haven't broken a single law, and if we did, it was for the good of this world...Surely you don't mean that wounded man, I am not acquainted with him, but if you intend to use that bow of yours, you better not miss. A forest fire would completely devistate the already threatened woodlands, and it would take many years for the trees to grow back.
The stranger's eyes suddenly change, they seem to take on a menacing quality.
Great, now you have him on this again. You have no idea how long he can go about the "precious balance of nature." Do me a favor and just shoot me now.
His eyes return to normal, and his demeanor becomes more pleasant.
Sorry about that, sometimes I say things, but I'm not really talking. I won't bore you with the details, but that's why I'm in a relatively warm climate with an arctic wolf.

(You forgot to roll damage for your bow)

Then if you don't mind let me take the fugitive in because I asure you that I won't miss. But then again I'm not getting paid to kill and neither am I getting paid for loss of arrows, so just step aside and don't interfere with my job. I have a feeling somethings not being said but it's not realy my problem so I focus more on the fugitive.I glance back at the wolf for a second before I start talking again with this new comer Also don't try to fool a Ranger, druid oh yes I know what you do so to speak, the wolf is a dead give away.

a ranger can deal with any thing a druid can go on about.

I have no reason to try to fool you, I really have no idea who that prisoner is. Though I would like to know what crime you're trying to incinerate him for. Surely it must be some kind of mass murder if you intend to risk the lives of all these trees and the animals that live off of them.

Interesting, but how I'm I risking the lives of these trees if I'm not the one thrashing through here like a mad man. I stop talking for a second and listen to the surroundings.

Trees can survive slight damage from being beaten around by a lone convict, but fire can destroy a whole forest with almost no help. You're the one causing the major damages here, to my knowledge, you're the one committing crimes, not him.

You hear a slight rustling of leaves, but you're unsure where it's coming from.

roll a spot check.

Ah, but if I do not stop one convict more will follow his example and flee into the forest. Then they'll bring their axes and fire, trees will be chopped down and used as firewood or shelter. Once the tree is cut down non will replant a tree or give thanks to the tree for its aid.
Now heres a skill I have no ranks in at all. +2 to spot.

You notice that the prisoner is gone, but can't see where they've gone.

I'll grant you that, but surely there are weapons that won't burn down an entire forest in your arsenal. The prisoner is unarmored, you could throw a rock at him and probably do some significant damage. So I must ask, why didn't you use a different weapon? Also, I still haven't been informed what his crime is. Perhaps you ought to tell me that...

roll damage for your longbow

I shot an arrow off hoping to hit the prisoner, before turning my attention to the druid. I'd tell you, if i know the crime but that is not my job and I wasn't the one who brought him in for the original bounty. But I will bring him in for escaping from custody.

I suppose that's the right thing to do...One must follow the laws of a town they're in, perhaps you should know that the person you're after is gone. If I'm correct, he went to the town just north of here.

The druid points a scaly claw towards a tiny hamlet with high stone walls.

I've heard legends of the town, and if they're correct you may never find him. It looks small, but it's like a gigantic maze, I would gladly help you if I could hide my dragon features.
PostPosted: Wed Aug 23, 2006 1:09 pm

Looking over at the hamlet I sigh. Well then I'll gladly except your help but I have no such spell available to me. But I do have a spare cloak that you could use, if the heat doesn't get to you.

You needn't worry about heat, I grew up in a desert village.
The druid takes the cloak and covers his hands and feet, then shrouds his face in his cloak.
I don't know how usable this cloak will be afterwards, but I'll replace it if necessary. Now then, I believe that the prisoner turned east after entering the village, we'd best be moving on quickly as he's likely to leave the village through a different gate.

sorry for the delay, I got interrupted.
