The bull smirked a bit, his eyes narrowing in challange. Adult or not, she wasn't his mom so he didn't have to behave if he didn't want to. Besides, it was cool to look mean. "I came from a tube." He folded his arms stubbornly, "Where'd you come from?"

Niki just about facepalmed at the boy's remark. Okay, she didn't mean it that literally. "I came from the moon." She retorted in a total lie. She sighed. "Where were you before you found us?" Attempt number three. They said third time was a charm, right?
Ala giggled at Cody's comment. She came from a tube, too. Wait. Her mommy came from the moon? She stared at her mother in awe. Cool.

"YER AN ALIEN!" Cody pointed sharply, hollaring at the top of his lungs, "I sawed the movies! Yer here to eat my brains and make me take you to my leader!" He pawed at the ground, ducking his head, "You can't take me, alien! I'm the toughest here! ...and I don't got a leader neither!"

Niki nearly burst out laughing at Cody's reaction. So she was an alien, huh? Well, that was always interesting. "Nah, I could care less about your leader. But... brains are yummy...." She grinned at the boy playfully.
Ala stared wide-eyed at her mother. Mommy was an alien? And.... she liked to eat brains?! "Ack!" The girl exclaimed, hiding behind the bull boy. "I don't got brains!"

"You'll never take my brains alive!" He charged head-on for Niki, it seemed that he didn't quite understand the concept of dry sarcasm, playful humor, or lies. Dodging the truth was one thing, he knew that just fine.

Nikiana skirted out of Cody's way, nabbing up her girl. "Ah, but I think you do have brains." With a grin, she started at a fairly brisk pace down the hallway. If the boy was supposed to be somewhere, maybe someone would be looking for him.

The boy snorted defiantly, lifting his head as he woman snatched up the gir and started away. His expression sunk as soon as the adult's back was turned, waving sadly over to the other child, "Bye Ala..."
Cody sighed, slumping down and tucking his hands into his pockets. He thought for a minute there he'd be able to play with someone.

Niki sighed as she glanced back and the boy was slumped in the floor. Darn. She'd been hoping he'd follow after her. Feeling for some reason partially responsible for the boy, at least until she found where he was supposed to be, Nikiana stopped, looking at the boy.
Ala managed to 'escape' her mother's grasp and wandered back to Cody. "My mommy's weird..." She commented, looking over at the woman.

"All adults are weird." Cody smiled, perking himself right up as the girl made her way back over, "Hey! We can go playin' somethin if you want. I'm real good at playin'." He swished his tail from side to side, folding his arms accross his chest. Okay, so he hadn't played much recently with anyone other than himself but in his book, that was good enough.

Alaqua giggled, covering her mouth and looking over at her mother. Niki had a strange sense of humor at times. The girl perked up at the suggestion about playing. "Yay. Playing is fun. Like climbing. Climbing is lots of fun."
The girl's green eyes followed the movement of the boy's tail. He had horns and a tail?! How cool! She didn't have either. Just a kinda funny nose and big ears. And claws to climb with.

"I like tah brawl." He smirked, "But not with girls, it's not nice. Only boys 'cause boys like to get brawled on." He moved a bit of hair from his forehead to show a bruise, "See? You get lotsa 'em when you brawl."

Ala wasn't exactly sure what brawling was, but apparently it caused bruises. And only boys could brawl. Which didn't seem fair. Why couldn't girls brawl?
"Why not nice to brawl with girls?" She asked the boy, figuring that she wouldn't find out unless she asked.

"Boys ain't a'posed tah hit girls." He explained, "Good ones anyway. Bad ones hit anyone and that's why da good ones gotta learn to brawl. I saw it in a movie. A bad guy hits a girl and hurts her. You ain't a'posed tah hit a girl 'less you is a girl and I ain't a girl so I don't hit girls, only bad boys dat hit girls." He said it all as if it was the most logical thing in the world. "Movies know everythin'."

"Oh." Came the slightly puzzled response from Ala. Boys couldn't hit girls? Only girls could hit girls, but girls could also hit boys? Or could they? "Can girls hit boys? Or does that make her a bad girl...?"
Though the bull boy was younger, Ala was appealing to his seemingly endless knowledge on such subjects. Most of the movies she saw didn't have this brawling thing in them.
Niki smothered a chuckle at Cody's explination. Such a cute boy. She couldn't help but think that he'd probably be popular with the girls when he was older. He'd also make a great football player with such a build to him.

"Yeah girls can hit boys but only if they're bad." He explained very matter-of-factually, "I sawed in a movie that a boy was picking on a girl and she beat him up. It made the boy she liked mad 'cause he couldn't beat the other boy. That's sad too, but the girl was tough. She grewed up tah use guns n' stuff den went intah one o' those beauty show things and saved all the other girls. She even hit her friend! But it was a good thing too." he nodded, grinning a bit more, "It's easy. You can hit me if you want. It's okay, I wont' feel nothin'."
