I've spent about £200-300 (don't know how much that is in euros or dollars) even though none of it is brand stuff (I feel like such a fake now!). I get £30 a month, and I'm looking for a job, but I'm not old enough to get one yet. So mostly I get my clothes for my birthday or christmas.

I found a long (it goes to the floor) black coat-like thing at a thrift store yesterday (for $6.00!). I didn't have money with me at the time, so my mom bought it for me. She didn't say anything about it, but I'll probably be expected to pay it back once I cash my check for baby-sitting. Though $6.00 isn't bad for something that awesome: If I get the right accessories I may be able to make something that looks like a Moi Dix Mois outfit!

Awesome! Good luck with accesorising it. I once bought a lovely dark shimmery red with black velveteen flock pattern coat for about $15, and customised it for an elegant lolita look by slitting the sides so that underskirts could be seen, and adding corsetting to the back so that the body could be laced down tightly.
Thanks, I can't wait to go shopping again.
Well this doesn't count as buying something, but:
A lady who loves how I dress gave me a birthday gift of a vest she's had since she was 18 (and she bought it while she was in hawaii!). I don't even know her that well, but she just gave it to me!
Anyways it's made with red and black brocade-like stuff. It has black velvet buttons, and in the back it's looks like one of those old fashioned tailcoats! I simply love it. And it looks perfect with my lolita skirts.

Besides say, shoes like boots and maryjanes, I don't buy too much loli-gear.
When I do buy anything loli-esque it's from flea markets and the thrift shop. Kind of like how I bought a lovely trench-peacoat that is bright red.
When black lace and buttons attack! I love thrift stores.... Sally is my friend.
Otherwise, I have no clue how much I've spent.

Aha! Another UK loli! Yays! ^_^ £250 is about $450 (I use roughly $1.8 = £1).

Aw, don't feel fake! My first £200 or so was spent on several tailored items from ebay (I love fanplusfriend, they rock). It was only after I had spent about £500 that I got into brand territory.

If you save up £30 a month, in about 2-3 months you might be able to get a brand item from someone off the lolita communities on LJ second hand - I know alot of UK based lolis who sell to each other on the loligothuk LJ community. Cutsews go for about £30-50 heart

And if you're going to the next big UK anime convention, I have a friend who is an excellent seamstress, and she is selling her lolita clothes there biggrin

Wow some of you are so lucky to be able to buy the fancy stuff.
Some months I won't even get my $10 allowance because it all goes toward my $50+ pointe shoes for ballet. There's no $200 outfits for me... sad

So far $18 whee that was for a pattern, but it'll explode soon enough.
I have decided to keep atleast $40 out of each of my pay checks for saving and then the rest for lolita from now on, or atleast until i have to be serious with my money. I love being a highschool student, there is nothing I need to buy, my parents pay for my 'needs', I just buy my 'wants'.

Oh, thanks! Does your friend have a website? I'm planning to go to the con in Nottingham, but I'm not sure when it is yet.

She does: http://www.stockingshock.co.uk/

And if you want to know about any upcoming UK cons/meets:

I'm also hoping to organise a large lolita fashion prescence (hopefully brand name sales, special guests and a catwalk) at Japan Ex London, a very large event next summer:

My parents are so money conscious and internet shopping paranoids that it's nearly impossible for me to get lolita outfits. I've spent under $100 for clothes that look remotely Lolita. Le sigh. What can I say? I'm going to have to stay a rather casual lolita.

But since I'm starting to really get into sewing, I might be able to work around this lack of clothes problem. besides, there is always Target. So to answer your question, I've probably spent under $100...but I'm eventually going to be over $100.

I've spent about $40.00 so far, on a pattern, material, ribbon, and lace for a dress. I'm earning money, in highschool, so I've got the money to go spend more now... but I have spending issues. If I spend money, even a tiny bit, I get into hating myself for it... (but I'm getting better though ^^)

Waaaay to much ^.^;; I just did an order with Baby and it was about $1,000 with shipping and the transfer fees. Umm all together I might have spent around 2,000 or more on Loli clothes and shoes. I cant help it redface I'm a brand whore....
