I knowloads of fantasy books. Do you want books that have completely nothing to do with this world? Or books that do have somthing to do with this place?
Something to do with this world. Books that manage to integrate magic and fantasy well into everyday life are absolutly wonderful!

Well, it's not set in the present day, but Patricia C Wrede's "Mairelon the Magician" is a fun historical fantasy set in (I think) Regency England. There's a sequel also, which I've forgotten the name of.

Wrede is good indeed. You might also consider On a Pale Horse by Piers Anthony or any of the Abhorsen series by Garth Nix.

I didn't read any of FMA, but I greatly disliked the show after the first twenty or so episodes. Is the manga better?

In my opinion, the manga is so much better than the anime. Then again most manga are, right? I dislike how the anime has so many filler episodes, but then again that's the way of series getting animated. I love watching Izumi kick butt though, even when she's coughing up blood. wink

This term in university I am not taking any english classes (I am an english major) so I've got some time to read. I want to read something that is fun, can be sci-fi or fantasy. It's been a while since I've read a good fantasy. I like books that are well written with an interesting plot.

I don't read: Terry Goodkind, Robert Jordan, Terry Brooks, David Eddings...

Anyways, thanks, and recommend away!!

Hi, I'm sorry if this isn't allowed but I'm looking for some books to read. As of late, I'm really craving a romantic fantasy book. One that has supernatural things in it (like witches, werewolves, magic, etc) but also a splash or so of romance. Do you know of any ones?

Thanks so much!
Twilight and New Moon (its sequel) by Stephenie Meyer are great books if you like romance and fantasy (these include vampires and werewolves).

I'm looking for a good, humorous fantasy, that mixes humor with serious plot, and doesn't get too serious, or too corny.
Maybe something along the lines of Anansi Boys, but not Neil Gaiman?

I am looking for some good non-fiction books about the Crusades. Although all times are welcome, I am specifically looking for information dealing with the period in history involving such persons as Baldwin IV, Raymond of Tripoli, and Saladin. Part of the reason for this is research and part of it is pleasure.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you're interested in the Salem Witch Trials, then you should read The Crucible by Arthur Miller
