Tannasin Hmmm......
Elfen Lied Gantz Tsukihime Paranoia Agent Aside from EVA, Paranoia Agent is the best anime I've ever seen. Like, ever. Italicized and everything. It's a real psycho-thriller. It does contain some nudity (and some sex, but you only see breasts) but it's really a great show. It's about 13 episodes long, so you only get 3-4 episodes to each DVD, but not a cent will go to waste, I guarantee. Satoshi Kon = heart

sweatdrop I wasn't expecting to read another novel outside of school but this topic interests me so I shall dive into it. Also, if that much can be written about that topic then the anime must be worth seeing.

sweatdrop Not sure what counts as deeper, but I'd reccomend Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien as a deep-romance. It's actually the title a very popular H-game, but it was made into an amazing anime series.

Come on, you know all the best anime starts out as an ecchi game. I heard a rumor about Azumanga Daioh starting as a hentai game. Does that have any foundation, or am I totally being lied to?

BE Boogiepop Phantom. lol irl. I've seen that! Ok.. well.. I've caught glimpses of it. Y'know... live action.. I also saw Battle Royale.. well.. at least skimmed through it anyways. I still think Shingetsutan Tsukihime's pretty good. It started out as a hentai-game too. In fact so does AIR. Air has some pretty intense stuff but it may not be all too serious for you. AIR has great art though... and it's not even licensed in America so I'll shut up now.

BASTof Syndrome.
It's a korean anime and you really don't get what's going on till you continue watching deeper into the series. It's really illogical but I find it interesting. It's like starting near the end and going back to the beginning.

If you're into industrial-sized manga (we're talking encyclopedia-sized, here), I'd recomend the Akira afterseries. If not, Tsukihime.

Now and Then Here and There is a great serise, the plot is complicated but it deals with rape, the horrors of war, slavery and all that fun stuff. I bawled almost every episode. I saw Tokyo Godfathers a few weeks ago, it's a pretty good movie from Satoshi Kon about three homless people that find a baby and deal with their past as they try to find her mother. I got Porco Roco for Easter, it Miyazaki, 'nugh said. And Grave of the Fireflies, duh, if you haven't already seen it.
