Most definitely. I have been called the human dictionary since fourth grade but the nickname didn't stick until fifth when no one((not even the teacher)) knew what 'the punching bag' at the back of your throat was and I was all 'uvula' and my at-that-time-best-friend Brittney was like 'wow, you ARE the human dictionary' and they've called me that ever since. I hate it. I wear contacts now but people still call me smart. I know a lot of useless facts for, like, Jeopardy, but I'm a complete idiot because I'm so damned random...and this kid drew a no-smoking ad on our poster and I was like 'oh, it's a PSA' and this girl goes 'what's that?' and I was all 'public service announcement' and she goes 'wow, you're really smart' and I'm like 'no I'm not'

cocoa fang does anybody else notice how all the idiots in society (classmates) all seem to think that people with glasses are intelligent? and now when "those of social exceptance", get glasses they are now the supreme dungeon master of the chess club! lol.. i seem to actually be over average in intellegance *smart is not the word....intellctual maybe..? not smart...* but i look much differant... red on black nails.. short hair for a girl... whats funny is my brother is one of "those of social acceptance* but is a total a**... he's supposedly against racism but judges people by their CLOTHES!! he says every "goth" <-- (i dislike the word) is a druggie, depressed, stupid, and rude..... what he doesn't get it that i'm not stupid (i do better in school than him) and i most definately do NOT do drugs, i am not depressed, just like to read, (thank you... i am a dork too blaugh ) and he doesn't realize that i argue with other people with REASON, unlike my mom, who is the one who likes to argue.... don't get me started, it's not solely only my point of view... <-- (all in purple is my ranting... don't need to read it) so anyway.. i'd rather liek to have contacts, but i actually look better with glasses ^_^;;

Basically steriotypes just suck! People say just because i'm blond i'm stupid. But when i put on a pair of glasses they say i have artificail inteigence....I hate how people lack understanding of simple things. How can they be so stupid? I dont get it...it doesnt matter what people look like...that doesnt messure intelligence. I'm just so sick of it. It makes me so mad!!! sweatdrop

I've never heard so many people complain about being thought of as smart. smile
In my opinion, anyone stupid enough to truly belive these things arnt worth worrying about and the opinions of people who don't know you well enough to understand what your actualy like are equaly worthless. Let them think what they will, Those who mater know who you are.

I wear contacts, and people who've never known I've worn glasses before still find me to be an intellegent person.
I guess it comes with the dork-looks. gonk Maybe it's because you ARE an intelligent person. 3nodding

This was the case with me in grade school. It was always me and my friend that were thought of as geniuses, or smart. They badgered us to do their homework. For him, I mainly associate this with him being rather short in grade school and having glasses since I could remember. For me, it was winning the Geo Bee... which was common sense questions. Than, once high school came around, he's gotten contacts and people don't pester him. They funny thing is, he's also lost his knack for reading and school work. I haven't changed at all... and I don't have glasses but people still ask me to do their work.
I started charging $20 a paper. It might be high, but the grade will be too. sweatdrop

It's a lack of understanding in this world. Just sit there and laugh. ......true, true........i like my sun glasses......they pimp......but i like wearing my glasses, but i dont need them to reassure my intelligence, because i'll kick your a** at chess....mwahahahaha I don't know the first thing about chess but I have glasses.*Wrenches glasses of and tries to break them*.
