Warmth. Other than his mother's before him. By his side. Wiggling more ferociously than the pale cub could manage, he acknowledged his brother with a nudge from his paws.

Gulping for breath, Laio raced across the savannah that was her home now, almost flying, dust kicking up around her graceful black dipped forepaws. She -would- be there, she would. It wouldn't be right for a captain not to be there for her huntress, let alone the story keeper.
A little way off she spotted a gathering, and she attempting to slow that breakneck run, tail flailing as she skidded to slow down, trying to be able to approach at a decorous walk, at least. It would not to do to scare any little ones....
"Yarra, am I too late already? Colche?" She called in her usual cheerful, off beat way, though her voice was lower and less strident. She looked somewhat askance as she registered the presence of the lion god, and took a step forward. Cheetah lands for the cheetah... but surely Colche must be blessed or something, to have one here right now. She nodded to the boys, or so she mentally labelled the males, and courteously dipped her head to the god. "An' welcome to our lands, lion god."
Flickering her impatient feet she peered at Colche. More cubs, already? Well darn, she hadn't been fast enough... but she was here now.

Colche lifted her head acknowleging Laio's presence. She puurred happily and shook her head "no you arn't too late" She whispers nuzzling the cubs one more time. She was tired but she still had one more to go and those pains broke through her exhausted thought pattern once again. This was the last and she knew it. So far they looked just fine, she wa pleased about that. She smiled for a moment though the pains soon raked her body once again and she scrunched ehr eyes shut tightly her tail whacking around for a moment.Letting out a deep breath she turned to look, no cub yet. Flattening her ears she gave a little distraught cry tencing and bearing once again. The third cub wasn't staying in for very long though and with onefinal push and a long breathy sigh of releaf her third child came in to the world.
Looking around she broke his cord and pulled him close to her chest. Her third and final cub, licking away the dampness from his fur until he was a tiny fluffy ball she smiled and lifted him in to place beside his brothers. Puurring gently her soft call echoing from deep in her chest. Three boys, the three brothers, the trins. She sighed exhaustedly though the smile on her maw was unmistakable her soft blue eyes dancing happily as she touched each one turn with her nose and whispered the names she had to give them. "Akilli, Afiya, Moyo" she whispered starting with the youngest cub and moving up to the odd one of the litter.
It almost seemed like she had forgotten her audience for a moment but her perfect blue eyes soon rose and she smiled and bowed her head to all present "Thankyou all" she whispers her voice a low and gentle muurr, she was tired but sleep would not come just yet she wished to watch her babies. All fear had left her with this one act, now she held a deep, motherly pride and love for her newborns.

Afiya gave a little squicky acknowlegment of his brother beside him though didn't stop feeding, he only paused when the third body was placed close to him and he wriggled about getting comfiortable in the middle. he gave a littlesqueek as his mother touched his head and dubbed him Afiya, stretngth.

The little pale one was oblivious to his second brother, and would no doubt find him later when it came to scrambling over each other to explore their tiny little world.
Moyo.
That was his name now. His calling. Courage. He shall be his mother's courage.
He bopped Akiya once more with a tiny paw and continued to feed.

Kweupe gave an acknoledgement to the newest cheetah, pleased for the pregnant female and that she had such good friends, he almost felt as if he should leave and let the group enjoy the new life of the two current cubs.
At the sound of the cheetahs pains once more, he turned and faced the opposite directing, allowing the cheetah to give birth to what would be her final cub in privacy. Kweupe looked back onto the small family and grinned at third and final member of the cheetah's family. "Well done my dear. I thankyou for allowing my presence at such an intimate and wonderful time in your life." Was the comment Kweupe directed at the new mother. "I am sure we will meet again, but I must be off, the skies are calling my name, and I cannot leave them unheard."
Kweupe turned to leave, and remembered the other male who looked so much like the three cubs that had just been brought into the world. "Congratulations on your children, you shall be a great father." And with his final words Kweupe left the grove of trees, spreading his wings and soaring effortlessly into the sky.

Akilli definately wasn't expecting this. He fell into a world of colours, smells and coldness with a great deal of surprise, stunned to find he was no longer supported by water but on some sort of solid surface. It was new, but also welcome in some way, as though he knew that this was the natural way of things.
It was as his mother cleaned his fur that he realised that he was happier out here than he had been all alone in there. Happy and hungry.
With a tiny squeak, he joined his brothers in their feeding.

Laio blinked surprised at the god's appearance, and just as sudden departure, and shook her head a little. So strange...
She stepped a few paces further forward, white ears tipped forward. "Kin I do anything to help ya, Colche?" She mumured gently. "An' those are beautiful names. Just like the brothers from that story ya told me, no?" She paused, waiting politely to be allowed to step closer. She was so glad that this Colche she had found looking lost now seemed even more serene than ever before... and with her final spurt of growth that brought elegance to her skinny whiplash frame had also come a little more tact.

Colche watched as the god left thanking him without words. She felt truely blessed that her children had been born beneath the eyes of a god. Perhaps he would watch over them from the sky? Puuring softly she turned ehr gaze once again upon the three tiny newborns, helpless and blind in this their new life.
When laio spoke the blue eyed femme smiled happily. She giggled sleepily even when Laio spoke of the three brothers "Yes, I suppose the story telle rin me just couldn't resist" She cooed her perfect blue eyes looking simply relaxed as she nudged and licked ehr babes occasionally to make sure they were against her form.
"Will you stay for a while Laio?" she takes a deep quiet breath and yawns "I think i require some sleep" she smiles softly she was exhausted her eyelids drooped over her dusty blue eyes. She was so happy they were all here, her worries about motherhood had melted away but fears of attack had not. She looked to the skies preying the god whom had left was watching over them protecting her babes from scavangers. She also desired the presence of another female. laio may not be a mother but she was her friend, having her near until she woke at least would be a great comfort.

Feeling Akilli's movements beside him the middle cub released his mother for a moment and pawed at his youngest sibling. It was nice and comfy in the middle but who was this little body next to him?
He squeeked a few times before going back to feeding though he was feeling tired now and desirous of sleep, being born was hard work!

Laio stepped a bit closer, trying not to let the edges of panic rise up in her even as she replied comfortably. "I'll be here, Colche, I'll watch everythin'." Not that she would have the faintest idea what to do with cubs, but at least she could protect them. She stared a little challengingly at the males, but smiled, her voice dropping a little quieter still so as not to disturb any sleeping ones.
"I'm grateful to you boys for bein' here for her. And th' food, Uri. Good idea. But make yerselves useful fer now, huh?" She smiled encouragingly. "I won't leave here, but just like when Tomo's little females were born, we gotta be double safe on the patrol." She flicked her whit-ringed tail a few times for emphasis, but her eyes were still bright.
"Thanks to everyone. We'll bring these little uns up to be cheetahs proud to hold these lands, huh?" Her dark blue gaze slid sideways to the three little ones mewling gently, and gulped again. She was sure she'd never been that small.

Colche smiled at Laio, she was always the strong one. Smiling softly the dainty female looked up at Laio and sighed curling her body around the cubs so that they were in a sort of alcove of her body. She watched them quietly for a long time until each one became full and dropped in to quiet slumbre. With a puurr which echoed deep from within her chest she touched wach one one more time before closing her eyes her tail curling around her making a fluffy barrier should the cubs fall away from her.
Finally the blue eyed cheetah slept, glad that at last her worries were over and that she had the protection of the colaition all around her. "Thankyou Laio" she mutters perhaps in her sleep, afinal happy but exhausted sigh revealing she was at last relaxed and off to dreamland.

Speaking her named seemed like an unintentional summon, for there Tomoyo came from the direction of the others. The girls were still sleeping peacefully with their father, she had decided to let them rest for now, but did plan to go retrieve them later when some of the commotion had died down. She wanted them all to see what their precious daughters had once looked like, and to give Colche their congratulations.
The striped female's arrival was haroled by the musical tinkle of the bracelets wound about her right forepaw. She had not met Colche yet and shared formal introductions, but knew that she was expecting.
Imagine Tomoyo's actual surprise to find a god sitting in on the birthing. She had only seen drawings of them before in her human village, but to see one in person, she knew immediately that he was not of the mortal realm.
She smiled as she drew nearer the group, and bowed her head deeply in respect to the unnamed god in their midst before her curiosity simply took the best of her, and drew her eyes to the den entrance. The birthing noises had stopped just shortly before the babysitter arrived.
"The little ones are all here, then...?" She whispered to whomever would answer her. "Is Colche fairing alright?"

The blue eyed femme was awoken from her restful pause by the arrival of another female cheetah. she did not know her but her scent was familiar and she smiled softly, she had glimpsed the other female occasionally and she knew she had cubs of her own. Notting her dainty head she gazed at the beautifully stripped femme "greetings" she puureed her voice a quiet tired muurr.
With a light smile the king marked female shifted ever so slightly moving her tail so that the other could view her three sons. "We're fine" She whispered her dusty blue eyes dancing happily as she gazed at the three blind and dozing cubletts. Looking to Tomoyo she smiled a motherly smile knowing that the other would understand how she felt right now. her heart swelled with pride and love and adoration to those around her willing to protect her tiny new borns.

Tomoyo felt her heart warm and melt all over again... oh, but she could remember that feeling so well, and already she missed the time when her girls had been that young. She felt newly compelled to make sure that they always remained close.
"Congratulations, they're all beautiful." She complimented softly, warmed further by the pride that the new mother showed. She knew she'd take the utmost care of her three boys, maybe their cubs and the other youths would even come to be playmates.
Tomoyo glanced to Laio and smiled, ducking her head for a moment in a show of respect and greeting, brushing her nose against her shoulder briefly as well.
"New life is always a blessing, and surely this lord's presence means that they are all truely blessed."
