User ImageHaveo's eyes widened. 'The graveyard?' It hadn't been that long ago since he was there, picking off scraps of the hyena's kill. Nor since the rumors of a lion pride just outside...near the borders.

Haveo stepped closer to the red male. "I suggest you don't go near the graveyard at all. The graveyard itself is filled with hyenas who will attack you without hesitation. Their group is on edge as it is. And just outside of it is a lion pride that patrols their borders. Those lions have no qualms when it comes to outsiders. You wouldn't stand a chance."

Of course Haveo wasn't to sure about this, but he didn't show hesitance. The only reference towards the lion pride was that one cub he saw. That cub bragged far too much for it to not be taken seriously. And the hyena leader...she didn't brush off the cub either. Though the male didn't exactly like the red male, he'd rather not have the thought of a dead wild dog on his mind, one he had the chance to prevent.

User ImageUjuzi's eyes narrowed as the male invited himself into their ranks, proceeding with this more recent display of bad attitude. Whoever this Jamaa dog was, she was highly interested in what he'd done to wrong this Dafina so. Dafina claimed that the other had endangered puppies lives, but he wasn't exactly coming off as sane or logical to her in the first place himself. She did notice when Kengee drew in closer and honestly, right at that moment she either didn't mind or didn't care. Dafina was only managing to push button after button. Ujuzi hoped that the situation would get better before it got worse.

The others, standing closest to her, would hear the low show of distrust bubbling up in her throat. Her fur was bristled again and she was clenching her teeth behind closed jaws. She couldn't hold her tongue anymore.

"Pardon me for asking, but don't you think it's a little rude to just invite yourself into a pack?" She asked in a tight voice. "Haiji is our alpha, not you. If you want to travel with us, perhaps you should first check your attitude and then ask her if you can."

User ImageKengee ignored the instinctive urge to try and calm Ujuzi, and instead tried not to overstep his boundaries by keeping himself from closing the distance between them any further, his focus moving back to the male for now.

The stranger's words did not instill much confidence or comfort in the light-hued male, especially the part about him initiating an attack, and deciding on his own who did and did not deserve to live; though as Kengee did not know the circumstances of them, he couldn't really judge Dafina's actions. His barking, and his 'telling' Haiji that he was coming, that Kengee had a problem with. If the rogue male was looking for company, he had a funny way of showing it.

Still, Kengee decided to continue his silence and let the others talk. He was still a new member of the pack, after all, and he wasn't about to presume any sort of authority. And with the looks he was getting from the stranger, he doubted anything he said would do good anyway.

User ImageBy the look on Haiji's face you could tell she didn't believe him telling her he wasn't snapping. "What was that then?" She asked, when he spoke back in a very cranky tone.

His next launch into a speech about someone called Jamaa only confused and concerned her more. So he'd attacked some dog and got his foot bitten? She didn't want any rabid dogs hanging around and endangering her friends. Even though Dafina claimed the other dog had endangered pups and deserved it Haiji only had Dafina's word for it and she couldn't be sure if what he said was true. He certainly wasn't coming off as the protective sort and Haiji secretly suspected that the bit about Jamaa 'invading' Dafina's space might have had more to do with it.

She turned and stepped closer to Haveo after he'd spoken up about his concerns, noting the bristling and growling from Ujuzi and the shuffling closer of Kengee. This guy was putting them on edge and Haiji wouldn't stand for that.

"Don't worry Haveo," she tried to reassure him, "we're not going into the Graveyard, in fact we'll be moving further away. And I agree, it'd be wise for Dafina here to avoid it too... he's in no fit state to deal with a pack of territorial hyenas and squabbling lions." She turned her gaze back to the red, white and black dog. "And I don't take too well to others inviting themselves into my family... Ujuzi's right. It's rude." Her ears went back and her eyes narrowed, though she kept herself from snarling. "You've done little to endear yourself to us... why should we let you tag along?"

User ImageDafina couldn't take it anymore. After fighting with Jamaa, Almost being eaten by a motherly lion, and resting with a beautiful wild dog he should not havel liked or been around, he now stumbled upon all of these dogs... Dafina's body softened. Slowly he stepped foreward towards Haiji with his tail low. Dafina hadn't been able to catch any rabbits or even toads for that matter for a few days; sleeping was also out of the question. "I'm so tired" Dafina siad. "I'm hungary i'm weak... I can't afford any more squabbles with anything. even the grass. I didn't want you all to think I was weak, Because well I am but I'm not. Just the current state i'm in, I will die soon... If I stay where I am." His words were slow and thought of. "You see..." he spoke a little more confident now, but his tail still low to Haiji, "I stumbled upon you all, and i got over excited. I thought you would want to eat me. And of course I'd still like to live, and then I assumed you all were weak. I was wrong." He sighed heavily and slowly began turning around. His torn paw up in the air, They knew it was injured no sense in walking on it. "I'm sorry for the disruption I've caused you all." He looked back over his whiters and then slowly walked up to a large boulder and helpped hold his weight up. He indeed was weak. He could use even just a taste of meat, even if it was the slimey toads. "I really mean no harm" were his last words before he let his eyes close gentely while still attempting not to sleep. He was just so... tired, he couldn't hold up his act anymore.

User ImageHaveo slowly nodded. His mind was still slightly boggled at the thought of going back there. There were too many chances to remember what he didn't want to remember. It was enough that he still reaked of hyena still. He couldn't, and wouldn't, stand to go back there.

Haveo flinched as he watched the red male. He...he could at least understand the other male's feelings. He too, would be on edge around a large group. He was lucky that he had only met Haiji at first. And even then, at that time we was starved and tired beyond the point of fighting any longer. Slowly, the male stepped forward, he looked towards the two females with earnest. "As uneasy as he's made us, allow him rest. I will keep watch over him, and if you still don't trust him, I'll stand responsible."

Inside he was fighting with himself. This may lower his chances of being liked by the rest of the pack, but survival was too heavy a blade to hold alone. The red male may even hate him, but Haveo was really a gentle soul. He moved pass the male onto the carcass of wildebeest and ripped a fair chunk from it. He returned to the red male's side and placed it before him. He spoke softly to the red male, "Eat and rest."

User ImageThe female fell silent after her "outburst", hackles slowly easing back down, especially when Dafina completely changed face. To say she felt guilty would be an exaggeration, but she did feel it was alright to back off.

She sent a look Haiji's way and said nothing, but the expression she bore was one of cooperation. If Haiji decided to allow this then Ujuzi was already willing to agree to those set terms as well, and she wanted Haiji to know it.

User ImageAt her question Dafina seemed to sag, an illusion of strength and dominance slipping away to reveal a hurt, hungry and exhausted dog. Haiji's ear flicked forward and she stepped a couple of paces closer as the the red, black and white wild dog explained himself and then retreated to the large rock for support.

Haiji looked to her other pack mates. This Dafina's act had been a good one and a small part of her still kept in mind his words and actions from just moments ago. But it was receeding at the sight of this dieing creature and admitance of his mistakes. She wouldn't leave him to die... that was just cruel. And he had appologised to them, that was something as well.

Haveo had already made his choice and Haiji nodded to him when he accepted responsibility for the stranger. "That's very kind of you Haveo." She also glanced to Ujuzi and Kengee and saw her advisor was ready to accept her decision. Well, as uneasy as they had made them, Dafina had explained why. With his act dropped he seemed very different. And if it turned out wrong then he was in no fit state to fight any of them.

She walked up to where he and Haveo were and paused a moment to watch Haveo share part of their recent kill. "We're not going to eat you and you're right, we're not weak. But we aren't evil either... No dog should die alone, from hunger and exhaustion. I'll let you stay with us, at least until you've regained your strength. Then we shall see if want to stay longer or continue on your own."

That part she was still unsure about. Did he want to be a part of their pack? Or simply want their help in order to survive and then leave? Well she would accept him for the moment, as see what time would tell...

User ImageDafina inhaled the meat that the male had given him so quickly he would nearly have choked a few times if he hadn't already had another mouthful coming down. It wasn't that much but it was enough for Dafina. It was more than he'd had in a short while. He nodded thanks to the male. When Haveo said he would watch over him this made Dafina some what angry, he didn't show it however. He didn't need someone guarding him, He wasn't a cub! He decided not to protest however because he needed these dogs atleast for a couple days. When Haiji spoke dafina swivled his ears and turned his attention to her. He couldn't help it, he just wanted all of her, to absorb every word, even if she was somewhat yelling at him. But he could tell that she really wasn't going to eat him, And even if they do eat him in a few days, theres not much on him. "Agreed" That's all Daffy could muster and slunk further down sprawling out getting a little too comfertable that he proably should but he soon closed his eyes. He wasn't sleeping just resting his eyes. Resting his body.

User ImageHaveo watched as the male ate and nodded, a slight smile upon his face. That's good, he still had an appetite. And if he could fight then he could hunt. For however long Dafina would be there he would be good for hunts. He could tell that much.

Haveo watched as his new charge slept. That's good. He faced the two females and looked at the lighter brown male. He seemed close to Ujuzi. He wouldn't ask, he would respect Ujuzi's choices for the pack. He bowed his head to the male, acknowledging him. They were growing, this was good. Hopefullly Haiji's dream was coming true.

(( Well If Dafina's been accepted for now, then perhaps we should move onto newer ones? We could start one in the subforum where they've arrived (or are just entering into) the Pridelands? ))
