If I saw one of my best friends changing into a monster that nearly flattened my village 15 years before, I would do the exact same thing Sakura did. But does that mean I love him? No, I just care for him. Deeply. Naruto and Sakura have been through a lot. They have a strong bond, but that doesn't guarantee that they'll end up together.
In the beginning, Naruto did not love Sakura. He liked her, like Hinata liked him, like Lee liked Sakura, and like Sakura liked Sasuke. It seemed as though none of their feelings were serious at the time. However, Sakura's feelings were able to grow and develop the more she got to know the person she liked. I suppose the same can be said for Naruto, but really, after the hospital scene, and the scene where he made the 'Promise of a Lifetime', it looked to me like he had given up on trying to get with Sakura.

The only thing he is trying hard to get right now is Sasuke. Dating is practically the last thing on his mind. And if working hard is all someone needs to gain someone's love, then Rock Lee should have gotten Sakura a long time ago -- but I assume the LEAVES destroyed most chances of that pairing becoming canon.

I think that Sakura and Naruto share more of a sibling love, than a romantic love. The way I see it, Naruto is just infatuated with her. It's merely a big crush that he's always had. After the time skip, that all seems to just have really died down. They're both too focused on Sasuke right now. Sakura's not even thinking of her love for Sasuke. They both just want him back. And I believe when he gets back, it'll go back to normal with Naruto and Sakura, which is (in my eyes), Naruto simply crushing over Sakura, and Sakura, bieng a sister or best friend to him. However, with the confession Sakura gave to Sasuke before he left, there's a lot of tension leeft between them, so I think thing will get deeper from there. >> And SasuSaku will happen.
I just think the chances of SasuSaku seem so much higher than NaruSaku.

BOTH are focused in getting Sasuke back. They are working hard together for that specific goal. Sakura ran to stop Naruto from changing to kyuubi because she didn't want to. I mean, she cares for Naruto but just because she did that with Sasuke before doesn't mean that she loves Naruto. Any friend would do the same. That really doesn't prove anything to me. Naruto loved Sakura but he isn't focused on that at the moment. Sure, he still loves her (if any) but he knows that the important thing right now, especially for Sakura is getting Sasuke back. And Sakura knows that that is Naruto's wish as well. If they stayed together it would exclude Sasuke and make it look like they didn't really put their efforts in Sasuke. They just did something and hooked up meaning that it look like they doubt Sasuke's return. Besides, if they loved each other they would've confessed a long time ago now that they don't really have anyone in the way. So what I see between them is just a connection of respect and a deep friendship. Besides, Naruto never confessed to Sakura. He just does things for her which are nice.

Kishimoto has depicted the lengths to which Sakura and Naruto will go to retrieve him. Team 7 is Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura. Not just Naruto and Sakura. Sasuke will come back. And don't assume that SasuSaku is completely out of the picture. Every and any pair still has a chance of happening. What EXACT and outright proof do you have that Naruto LOVES Sakura and vice versa? Has it ever been exclaimed? What I have seen (YES I read the current manga), so far is the sort of best-of-pals type of relationship. They flirt, but it's always harmless. Both are too focused on getting Sasuke back. And that's how the show will run until he DOES return.

Oh, just because they're twelve they can't know what love is? Really? Then why don't we go ahead and say, "Just because they're twelve, how can they know what hate is?" Or even friendship, for that matter? Love can be known for anyone and by anyone at any time in their life. You don't learn or know what it is at a certain age. It isn't something taught in school, it's something that you feel deep within yourself.
Sasuke's an avenger, yes, but he is also HUMAN. He can love, too. He's fighting for the family he loved, isn't he? Sure, that's not romantic love, but it IS love, nonetheless. And he can be a lover. He just needs to kill Itachi first, and have some sense knocked into him.
And that "If he loved her would he had left to go with Orichimaru?" line is also stupid as hell. Even if he loved her, he would have gone to Orochimaru, anyway. It was practically written in the stars. He was dead-set on going to that creep. NO ONE could change his mind. True, Kakashi almost did, but then the Sound Four showed up.
It's HIS life. He is going to do what ever he feels is right.
.. Why did she mention the battle between Gaara and Naruto? .. Anyway.. That fight was clear evidence that Naruto and Sakura both mean something to Sasuke. He thinks/thought of them as his important people.

Jeeze. I felt like telling Sakura that she was annoying plenty of times in the series, but I never hated her. You know, you CAN find someone more annoying than anything and still like them. It's pretty normal, in fact. Especially when it comes to couples.
But it's SO obvious that he hates her! I mean, how dare he be angry that someone hurt her, and fight to protect her! That is so MEAN. Oh, and then there's that part where he catches her from falling. The nerve. And we certainly can NOT forget the scene where he thanks her before having the decency to lay her down on a bench instead of letting her stay unconscious on the cold, hard GROUND. /sarcasm
He knocked her out before doing that, yes. However, did you ever stop to think he did that to protect her? If she followed him.. if she went with him to Orochimaru, she would have more than likely been killed.
Sasuke cared for Sakura and Naruto both -- and if he was capable of that, then he's perfectly capable of being a lover.

To define love: Is the feeling of deep affection towards another person which makes you put that person's interests, needs and feelings above your own. Sakura was willing to leave everything behind (friends and family) to go with Sasuke. Is that not love? If it isn't then I don't know what it is! True love isn't necesarrily being a mutual love. True love is having true and deep feelings for the person you love.True that Sasuke is an avenger but that doesn't leave him from having feelings of his own. Before Sasuke knocked out Sakura (before leaving) he thanks her after confessing. Is clear that Sasuke aknowledge her feelings and felt greatful that he meant something for her. He didn't want to leave thinking that her condession had no effect on him. Doens't that mean that he cares? Sasuke went to Orochimaru for his own reasons. He excluded Naruto and Sakura from them so that doesn't really make sense. Naruto and Gaara's fight? Naruto not saving Sasuke? What the hell does that have to do with the discussion?! Naruto wanted to save both Sakura AND Sasuke. Sakura was going to die by Gaara and Sasuke was too weak by the curse seal to even stand up. Sasuke asked Naruto help Sakura because she was trapped by Gaara's sand. Sasuke doesn't show his feelings but is clear that Sakura means something to him. Otherwise, why would he personally ask Naruto to help her? He considered her an important person in his life. Hello!!! Naruto also means something to Sasuke. Sasuke doesn't hate Sakura, he may think she's annoying but that's he cares for her. He has saved her, he has gotten pissed off when she's hurt, he was aknowledge her improvements, he has protected her...omg...he hates her so much...that b*****d!!! Naruto and Sakura both mean something to Sasuke. If Sasuke didn't had such a rough childhood and wasn't an avenger...I think is very possible that he could learn to be a lover.

A lot of things are possible. To be able to feel feelings inside you that are truly love at 12 years of age is possible. Especially in their world where they are learning things everyday, they have matured greatly since the beginning of the series and feelings mature too. Sakura can know what love is, she loves her family and friends and would risk her life for them. She knows how to love so she can damn well know how to love someone romantically. If she didn't really love Sasuke then she would have realised that back in Part 1 somewhere because shes not that stupid to forever assume a crush as 'love'. Which brings me to the conclusion that she does love Sasuke because she seemed so sure of it. At the thank-you scene, it sounded and felt like she understands her own feelings, she knows well what she is feeling and that is love.
And for gods sake, once more someone drags in the 'Sasuke is an avenger, blah blah blah' Sakura knows that Sasuke is an avenger and that hes not exactly the type to show his love for someone openly. In Sasuke's heart, he truly did try to forget about Itachi and live on as part of Team 7 but it was probably hard for him to think that way. Sasuke's whole family and clan was killed by Itachi and he was the only one left alive. Itachi practically told Sasuke to keep living so one day he could face Itachi again. You can't push something like that out of your mind and grow up normally, happily and not feel guilty and troubled about it. For Sasuke to completely feel at ease and to be able to move on, he felt he had to get power and kill Itachi so he can rest at peace knowing hes dead. I've had to explain this 213809874392 times.
And I laugh at your last point. Lets say Sakura's life was not at risk and she wasn't smashed agaisnt the tree and left there to die. Lets just say that was Sasuke instead? And guess what? Naruto would do the same freaking thing for Sasuke. The amount of times he said "I will save 'everyone'!" also in that scene completely ruins your point. In his time of thinking about what to do he glances back at both Sakura AND Sasuke. And what does this have to do at all about SasuSaku? Its more like your now bashing SasuNaru, shame they happen to both be my favourite pairings. All I can say is Sasuke cares for Naruto and Sakura, Naruto cares for Sakura and Sasuke and Sakura cares for Sasuke and Naruto. Basically, they all care for eachother even though sometimes Sasuke may not show it and back in Part 1 Sakura may have seemed to hate Naruto but you can just tell she doesn't. Team 7 equals friendship, love and loyalty.

Thus, if that person is someone she loves, the pain is greater. So she shouts out her love which goes unheeded, squeezing the words out of her throat. It’s as if this is her imprisoning destiny.

Now, as for Sasuke's feelings, though it IS true that Sasuke may not have feelings like love for Sakura, he doesn't necessarily hate her. Why else would he have thanked her in Chapter 181?

Also some fan's were saying that Sakura still want's Sasuke back, well here is what I concluded back when Sasuke first left Naruto made a promise to Sakura that he would bring Sasuke back, and in the end Naruto failed.Now in the two year skip Sakura most likly feels bad about the promise, and dosen't want Naruto to worry having to bring Sasuke back.Sakura want's to bring Sasuke back so Naruto won't have to fight anymore.
As for Sasuke, she's been training because she wants him back. So far, it hasn't been shown that Sakura has indeed thrown her romantic feelings for Sasuke and replaced them with friendly affection, but she doesn't see Naruto as a potential love interest either, as shown in Chapter 312, where she says after Naruto asks her on a date, "If you have that kind of time, then study and train instead." Meaning she just rejected a chance to be happy with Naruto for a while.
If she DID develop feelings for Naruto, that would ruin the Team 7 ambiance, because look at the way they're connected: Sakura's in love with Sasuke, Sasuke loves Naruto as a brother, and Naruto's in love with Sakura. If Sakura's feelings were removed, where is Sasuke in the equation of Team 7? Nada. Team 7 is lost. There is only Naruto and Sakura. Sakura is smart enough to know what she feels. Chapter 181 proves what Sakura felt. She begged, cried, and threatened to scream when Sasuke left. Sakura loved Sasuke to the point where she was willing to go with him and sacrifice everything.
Even if Sasuke loved Sakura, I would believe that Sasuke would still go with Orochimaru. Sasuke is willing to do anything to gain power so he can kill Itachi. He's filled with guilt because he was the only one who survived when his entire clan and family was killed. He needs to avenge his family. It's been his goal and it's something he can't forget. When Itachi came back, Sasuke gave Itachi everything he got and tried his hardest to kill him. It makes it even harder to forget when someone makes you watch your family being murdered in your mind for about 72 freakin' hours. Sasuke did considered being happy and staying with Team 7. But what could happen if he did that? Itachi could kill his precious ones again and Sasuke would still be filled with guilt. Sasuke needs to kill Itachi first before he can live happily.
Remember, during the fight with Gaara, Sasuke said he doesn't want to see anyone important to him die anymore. This proves Sasuke does care as well. Also, don't excude Sasuke out of Team 7. Naruto cares for Sasuke as much as he cares for Sakura. And both Sakura and Naruto are training hard to save Sasuke because he is important to them. They'll do anything until Sasuke comes home.

I read the offending post again, and I found a particular fragment that I became suddenly peeved at.
Who says true love is always one that is recquited? That person has never been in love yet, and she has absolutely no right to say this. True love occurs because you truly and deeply care about someone, just like Sakura cares for Sasuke. If she's not in love with Sasuke, she would have never:
1) jumped in front of him to protect him from a raging, demonous Gaara.
2) jumped in to stop him from killing when he was possessed by the curse seal, without regard for her own safety.
3) tried to stop him from making the biggest mistake of his life, aka leaving Konoha to go to Orochi.
4) said, with tears and a breaking heart, that she loved him.
5) said that she was willing to throw away even her life and comforts just to be with him.
6) made promises that seem too big to accomplish.
7) be driven to become the best kunoichi she could be to get him back.
Love makes a person be the best he/she can be. If I loved someone (and I do), I would make sure that even if my love isn't recquited, I would do everything in my power to prove I DO love him, and that I would the best I could be for him, not just for myself. And that's exactly what Sakura did.

I agree with everyone deffending SasuSaku. And I'm am willing to do anything I can to protect it. Besides what kind of proof do the offenders have against SasuSaku? Some say they hate Sasuke...but because of that they suddenly go for NaruSaku??? Some say Sakura never loved Sasuke and that they know she's going for Naruto? Where in any manga or episode was that proven??? Some say Sasuke can't love...WRONG!!!! He can too love, I mean he has loved before. And in the episodes fighting Gaara he told Naruto he never wanted anyone CLOSE TO HIM to die again.

As for Sasuke not being able to love, that's wrong. He loved Itachi very much (as a brother, of course, you yaoi freaks blaugh ) when he was young, only to be betrayed. He doesn't want to get hurt anymore, and he doesn't want to feel the same pain if he loses loved ones again, so he thinks it's safer not to love. However, unconsciously, he DOES love, as shown with how he acknowledged Naruto as a brother and how he thanked Sakura. Though those feelings are underdeveloped so far, since he hasn't realized it yet, it's there. No matter how little, it's there.

If you ask me, her doing nothing is PROOF that she is NOT over him. Hello, look at her full page expression in Chapter 306. Her feelings are still there, or else Kishimoto wouldn't have dedicated an ENTIRE page to her reaction. "Sasuke-kun", anyone?
Oh, but she DID do something. She charged at him! It was a somewhat stupid move on her part, but at least she made an attempt. And I personally think she attacked him merely to show him how much she's changed in two and a half years.. and of course have her shot at knocking some sense into him. Stupid Yamato..
Although, if she really had done nothing.. how, exactly, would that have proved that she was over Sasuke? She could have been in shock. She could have been confused. She could have been thinking about whether or not it would be smart TO do something.
Everything she's doing now is for Naruto AND herself. She doesn't want Naruto to try and get Sasuke back by himself anymore because they're a team. If anyone's going to bring Sasuke back, it's going to be Naruto AND Sakura; together. How many times must the importance of Team 7 be mentioned here?

I would certainly agree with you if Sakura was there yet her reaction was not shown, or she was not shown at all or think/speak/attempt to attack.
Unfortunately for you, she did all of those things. Therefore she did something at the Team 7 reunion. Just because they didn't quite hurt Sasuke at all or do anything all that useful in their goal, they all had their part. What the hell do you mean its obvious shes over Sasuke? I don't find this fact obvious in the manga at all. And if it was, I certainly find the idea horrible. You can't just make her love Naruto and want to save Sasuke as a friend and when that happens its all fine and happy? No. If Kishi really really wants to make it NaruSaku, I suggest he somehow resolves Sakura's love for Sasuke. It will make me go "huh?" if suddenly in one of the upcoming chapters she says she loves Naruto and yet nothing between Sasuke and Sakura has happened. You can't just leave the SasuSaku development/relationship like that. Sure, some may think chapter 181 was the end of SasuSaku but it also had Sakura's true feelings and love for Sasuke confessed there. Sasuke said Thank you, I assume he is thanking her for her love for him.
I think it would be just so weird for Sasuke to come back with Sakura in love with Naruto after having Sakura confess her love for him. Even if it was way back then, she said she loved Sasuke with all her heart. I believe thats completely true and that her love will not fade over 2.5 years. NaruSaku is cute, but to me it just can't fit into the series. There would have to be so many things to fix. Sasuke's reaction/thoughts about this, where the hell did Sakura's love for Sasuke go? And even what Naruto will think. To me, Naruto's crush on Sakura has faded, he may not even jump into her arms if she confesses to him. If Sakura does love Naruto and tells Naruto, even if he loves her back its not just so simple to just jump into a relationship. Naruto would have to think about how this will affect Team 7 and most importantly Sasuke if he were to get together with Sakura. I imagine him to think, "What about your feelings for Sasuke?"
And back to Sakura doing nothing at the reunion.... she freaking charged at him. She said 'I will use my own strength to stop Sasuke-kun!" She didn't say 'For Naruto' because its not just for Naruto, its for the whole of Team 7. Shes doing it for the sake of her old team. Sasuke is important to her and she knows Sasuke is very important to Naruto. She has become the strong one of the team, emotionally. When Naruto broke down after Sasuke left from the reunion, it was Sakura who encouraged him even though she was hurting deap down inside too, shes supporting her team. She was the one who was looking at the future, at what they had to do to get Sasuke back and reminded Naruto of this.
Right now in the manga, I feel no NaruSaku. I feel the importance of Team 7 and how much Sakura and Naruto just want Sasuke back so they can once again be a team.

And when she charged at Sasuke, that was all for Naruto, wasn't it? It wasn't like she really wanted to bring back Sasuke for Sasuke's sake, but for Naruto's sake. ZOMG, it really IS NaruSaku love! Gawd, how could I not have seen all those EXPLICITLY BLATANT NARUSAKU HINTS before? I'm so stupid not to have seen that!
...and let's act like she didn't utterly reject Naruto in 312, either.
Well, bloody dripping sarcasm (the sacred language!) aside, I LAUGH at all these NaruSaku-ers. They are utterly pointless when trying to get their "points" across. Not only that, but they put the good NaruSaku-ers (the ones who respect other pairings and actually argue brilliantly) to shame.
