Von Helson Park wasn't a bad place to be in the midafternoon. Most people were still at work, or had already gone home from their lunch meetings and such. The result was a relatively quiet place where Youko walked along the path, listening to the happy cooing from the makeshift naga-carrier that hung draped against his chest. It was a satchel he'd ripped apart and reswen, leaving a hole in the bottom just big enough for the lower half of Belias' tail to fit through. The end result was a happy naga baby that was perfectly able to see everything around him. As they approached a small pond in the centre of the park, Youko moved to curl up in the grass, letting Belias down to squirm around.

Kyrianna had left the little frost changeling in the care of her elderly neighbor who usually took one or both of her children when she needed time off. The woman had been at her wits end with Belial gnawing on anything he could get his little fangs into and squirming around like he owned the place. Which she was fairly certain he DID think. His actions and screaming had set Eirwen off and she had two irritable children. All by herself.

It wasn't working.

So now she was carrying Belial - who was trying to gnaw through the carrier she had created using Youko's idea - to the park to meet his twin. The only thing that reletively made him happy besides chewing through things. The little monster.

She spotted Youko and waved, "Help, he's trying to eat me!"

Snickering, Youko stood up and moved to try and release Belial from the carrier without getting perforated by the boy's fangs. "Looks like he's trying to eat the sling," he murmured, hoping that seeing Belias in the grass would calm down the otherwise ornery naga baby. "Your brother's waiting for you, but you have to sit still long enough to let me get you out."

"Eat through the sling and get to me is more like it. He likes gnawing on my ankles - my boobs aren't hard enough." Kyri complained, shifting a bit so the little nagaling could be removed from the sling with the help of the kitsune. Belial, of course, wasn't happy with being handled and tried to bite into Youko's nearest body part.

Freed of the contraption, Kyr set it down on the grass, "Why couldn't you get the evil one?"

At the sight of his brother, however, Belial let out a little wail and reached out - plainly saying GIMMEGIMME.

"Because I"m just that cute," Youko said, letting out a faint hiss as the fangs sank into his wrist. He quickly worked himself loose, shaking out his hand as he set the baby down next to his brother. "Nippy lil s**t, isn't he..."

Belias let out a squeal, grinning from ear to ear as he saw his twin being lowered down, and reached out for him with both hands.

Belial wriggled his way over to his twin and immediately wrapped his arms around him in a happy little hug, nipping affectionately at him before rolling onto his back and giggling happily. At least he wasn't trying to chew her ankle off.

"You should see my furniture and his crib. I had to put lemon juice on the wood so he'd stop gnawing on it. He hates lemons - god knows why. I love them..." she rubbed her temples, "But he was really getting on Eirwen's nerves..."

"Maybe get some of that Bitter Lime spray that they sell at pet shops to train ferrets not to bite?" Youko offered, patting a spot in the grass nearby.

Belias nuzzled against his brother, not seeming to mind the nips in the slightest. His tail wrapped itself around his twin's, making them almost look like a snake-knot in the grass. He didn't care what the adults were talking about, his BROTHER was here!

Belial was making tiny little noises, churring at his brother and giggling as he played with their tails, twining them around. He reached out, grabbed a clump of grass, and then threw it, scattering it in the wind with some landing on his brother. SPARKLY! The wet grass was a nice toy - for now.

"That's a good idea, I'll have to check some of that out. Knowing the little s**t though he'd like the lime and hate the lemon."

Belias nestled against his brother, watching the blades of grass dance on the breeze before tickling his tummy and cheeks when they landed on him. As the babble of the adults turned into simple background noise, he let his head fall to the side, starting to babble in nonsense. Well... it was nonsense to the adults anyway. "Why doesn't she like you nipping?" he asked, blinking at his brother with wide green eyes. "It's not like you n** hard or anything. Not me, anyway."

Belial giggled, "I don't bite you hard. I bite them hard. You are special. Biting them feels good. Teeth hurt. Furniture helps. You hurting does not make me happy," he answered, a smile on his little face as he continued to play with the grass and snuggle into his brother again. He didn't like his Spirit Keeper - she was annoying. And his sister? Well...She was a joke. He was pretty sure the only one he liked was his brother.

"Ohhhhh...." Belias frowned then, trying to make sense of that. It DID make sense, he was sure of it... somehow. Unfortunately, he just couldn't wrap his brain around it at the moment. He gave a small shrug and moved to toy with Belial's hair instead. "Teeth hurt? I can help with that..."

In what would likely seem like a VERY strange move to anyone watching, Belias rolled until he was facing his brother directly, then leaned in to press his lips just barely against Belias' own. Touch was best for healing... and he still wasn't coordinated enough with his hands to try poking at already sore teeth.

The pain lessened in the young boy immediately and he sighed. It still hurt, but it wasn't that sharp, biting pain as it had been. "Thank you. What did you do?" he vaguely knew that he could poison people - he just hadn't figured out how. Or if he could at the present moment. He didn't think his venom had come in yet...And he really wasn't sure if he wanted to find out. If his Spirit Keeper died, what would happen to him? Would he live with his brother?

...That was a thought. A glint of mischief found it's way into his eyes.

Shrugging again, Belias looked to him. "I'unno," he answered, moving to drape in the grass again. "I make things not hurt. Don't know how. Just do." He really couldn't explain it any better than that, and it was frustrating to say the least. He moved to pick at the grass then, frowning as he shredded one green blade after another.

Belial remained where he was, looking at his brother with some amusement, "I know I can make things hurt. Poison. Don't know much else," he returned, little hands brushing through the blades of grass. "I miss you when you're not there. I miss you lots. Home is not right. Not home."

He was frustrated that he couldn't be with his Belias all the time. It was one of the reasons he was so irritable.

"Has to be home," Belias replied, glancing to his twin. "I'm bound to him... I heard him talking before. If something were to happen to him, I'd die too. Just like if something were to happen to your guardian, you'd die." As if that thought had never occurred to him before, Belias stopped dead, sniffling for a moment before letting out a sharp wail and clinging to Belial tightly. "Then I'd be all alone!"

Belial clung to his brother, not liking the thought of being alone without him at this place, "I don't wanna be without you!" he answered, clinging to his brother tighter still. His soft little wail brought Kyrianna out of her discussion with Youko and she shook her head.

"What got them so upset?"

Belial sniffled and looked over to his Spirit Keeper, giving a little glare. God, he didn't like her.

"I dunno," Youko replied, frowning a bit as he moved towards the two. "Hey... hey guys, shhhh..." He knew better than to pick up one or the other, and since he had two arms, he scooped up both. He kept them within reach of each other, his tail moving to drape over both boys like a blanket. "Hey now... are you hungry?"

Belias normally would quiet right down when he was held, but not this time. He clung to his brother like a burr, fully wrapped up in his current crying jag.

And of course, Belial wouldn't likely stop crying if his brother was crying, his little arms tightening as they were picked up as if he were afraid that he'd be tore away from him. Little infants, so easily scared. He hated that he couldn't stop wailing but the thought of losing Belias after already being unable to see him all the time scared the little naga immensely. How the hell would he manage?

Kyr reached over to stroke at her son's head - and the crying stopped. It wasn't due to anything other than the fact he latched onto her hand.

"OW YOU LITTLE s**t!"

Belias' eyes flew open at the shout, and he immediately yanked his brother back, clinging to him and babbling. "Don't!!" he yelled, making Belial let go. "If you hurt her and she dies, you'll die too!" It was obvious that this concept scared him more than anything else.

He did let go, but only because his brother told him to, and scowled, sniffling and rubbing at his eyes clumsily, "Bite won't kill her," he defended himself, moving back to cling to him once more. His crying had stopped, however, and he was simply sniffling and nursing his pride.

Kyr was busy ripping a piece of her shirt off to wrap around the openly bleeding wound. It wasn't too bad, but it was still fangs. And a snake bite. "Mother ******** hell."

Youko chuckled, moving the twins to rest in his arms. "You don't have to do anything that drastic," he said, keeping the boys together. "I doubt it's anything fatal, he bit his brother a while ago."

"It's bleeding, and I don't want it on my jacket," Kyr grumbled, tying it off. It wasn't bad, but it was blood. Blood and leather did not go well, "And he nipped him, not full on bit. He didn't break skin."

Belial scoffed and nibbled on his brother affectionately, only proving his keeper's point.

Belias began to calm as well, sniffling softly and nestling into Youko's arms, still wrapped around his brother tightly. He didn't LIKE the idea of being alone. Somehow, that scared him more than anything else. No matter what, he'd make sure nothing ever happened to Belial...

Still grumbling, Kyr eyed the two twins, "Want to take Belial for the night? I doubt that he'll let go of Belias at this point and I could use some pet proofing the house time so I don't kill him before his time."

Belial gave a little hiss and yawned. No way he'd allow himself to be torn from his twin right now!

Nodding, Youko curled his tail around the boys, smiling faintly. "I can take him," he said, reaching to brush back Belial's hair before moving to give the same attention to his twin. "I don't mind at all, and I think Belias would like the company."

"I think he likes you better than me anyway. No clue why..." She shrugged and rubbed at her hand, "But it's highly appreciated."

Hearing the conversation, Belial made a series of happy little babbles, "I'm goin' home with you!"

"I think it's just because I don't react to getting bitten..." Youko shrugged, not quite sure what it was, really. He was used to being gnawed upon by his offspring... snakes weren't much different.

"YAY!" Belias nearly purred, wrapping around Belial and snuggling close. A soft yawn came from him as he rested his head against his brother, content that they weren't going to be seperated, at least for now.

"Maybe. I'm not used to kids, though. Eirwen seems to at least take a reletive liking to me," she laughed softly and then looked at Belial, "Even if he's a little s**t I love him. Can a parent ever NOT love their kids? Even if they're unwanted at first?"

The question was pondered. Being a psychiatrist, she should have had the answers. But honestly, she could never understand the concept.

Mine. It was the only action or word needed.

"I know I can't," Youko replied, smiling. "I love them all, even the ones that weren't expected." At that, he paused to think. "Then again, I don't think any of mine were expected."

"Mine," Belias returned, finally starting to doze off in Youko's arms, his tail wrapped tightly around his brother.

"Are anyone's kids on Gaia expected?" she asked, looking at the now peaceful twins. They were kind of cute, especially when Belial wasn't trying to eat her, "But in any case, I should probably pick up Eirwen before she gives the old lady a heart attack...You taking Bel is incredibly appreciated. Sometime, I'll take Belias. At least he keeps Bel calm."

Belial simply let himself doze with his brother, not letting go.

Youko chuckled, getting to his feet carefully so as not to wake either of the boys. It was a good thing that he didn't live too far from Durem... otherwise he'd have had to figure out how to transport two kids with one carseat. "I'll give you a call tomorrow," he whispered, leaning in to give her a hug. Well... sort of a hug. He wrapped his tail around her for a moment, instead of his arms.

"Sounds good. Thank you," she murmured, lightly patted at him and pulled away, watching him leave with her son. God, she loved him, but a night off would be a miracle.
