Maura made it into her apartment and locked the door behind her, but she headed right for the bathroom... She closed the doorand peeled the wet clothing from her body. She turned the water on, and then once she was undressed and the tub was full, she stepped in and lowered herself down.

The warm water felt nice against her skin, but it wasnt the same as the rain. She shifted in the water realxing... Starting to bath herself some. The slight light from outside gave the bathroom a dingy glow. she touched the candle near her head and the ones around the bathroom lit. She sighed lightly the scents smelt nice and she sunk in more...

after some time, after she bathed she drained the tub and she towled herself and started to work on her hair. her muslces still felt sore. Finally after she was all ready. She pulled on some pajama's and she made herself some food, and then she walked some tv... For some reason she startedto think about the rain and that male again... what was his name?

"Astris." She said aloud. There was just something... about him and the rain.

((Interesting touch with the white.))

He feet took to a fast paced jog down the near abandoned street. No one wanted to be out in this storm, but he... He was enjoying it. The eyes of those on the insides of buildings watched him run down the street. They took it as his want to be out of the wet, but how they were so wrong. As he ran, he felt alive and free. Alive and so free from the cold world... The city always watching. They watched him, always him. He was a mystery, the way that he walked down the street everyday to the same docks to watch the sun set. Why, they always asked each other. Why does he go down to those same docks everyday to watch the sun set? Why does he cry everytime he goes to the docks to watch the sun set? Why does he talk to the puddles? Why does he stare out his window at us? Why does he paint the shadows? What does he hide? their questions beat inside of his ears. How long had he been here? Who were his parents? Did anyone actually see him move in? A personal question rose in his mind. Did he know the answers to their questions? He didn't know, he ran from them.

Panting, he bolted up to his vast apartment and threw his plastic bag of art supplies on the kitchen counter. What now... He was alone now. He could paint, but no inspiration struck him. It was still early in the day, not the time to walk down to those unforiving docks. He owned no source of entertainment besides his pallete and a piano. Piano... Before it registered with him, he sat down and began to play. He hoped that somewhere, Beethoven was happy.

After a dull while, she rose from her seat and she went into her bedroom. Her apartment was niely decorrated. She made a good amount of money, and then she could almost live off her tips. When she walked from the room, her tv went off, and even in the bathroom the candles flicked and where smothered to this death.. no light would come from them.

In her room she crawled into her bed and she yanwed softy snuggling in and then she snuggled into a stuffed animal. She closed her green eyes and slipped off into sleep.. her alarm clock set for 5 when she needed to get up and ready for work...

Music sailed across the room, dancing with the crossbreezes, almost forming an ethereal figure in the growing humidity. Of course, it was just his eyes. No ghost could sat before him, no spector of the notes he played. How he loved his song, this sontana for the moon... The notes, flying high and dipping low... A clock somewhere struck an hour. It pierced his music. He faltered. Somewhere, it was three o'clock in the afternoon. Had it been that long already? The docks, they screamed for his attention. The song uncompleted, he bolted for the door to the outside, running for the docks, his life. Yet, it wasn't the ships that set sail, the barges and the water that caused his return.

It was the horizon, the one that he could never reach, where the sun set and the moon shone down. As his legs pumped to reach the sun set, eyes watched him like no other. They probably wanted nothing more than to trip him. So juvinile, the world...

He found the sun set. He wept. Everything was right with the world. So many things were wrong.

The green numbers on the alarm clock, turned to 5:00. Suddenly a loud buzzing noise went off, and a slightly tanned hand flew out and slamed down on the snooze button with a whack. Then the hand slid along the top, turning the alarm off. Hand slinking back into the covers a groan was heard and then movement. The covers pushed off and the female sighed heavily.

"This is no way to live..." She sat upright and looked around. it had felt like only a few hours... well it was. She yawned slinking from her back and she waved her hand softly and the closet doors pulled apart and she started to sort though some clothing, and then pulled out some pajam pants, and a a wife beater. She changed at the club, into her dancing outfits. She changed slowly, and grumpily made her way into the kitchen. She didn't even know what day it was... That weekend she was going to look at going back to school stuff.

In the kitchen she get some fruit, and wheat cereal, and she ate it... It was good for her body... She then made some coffee. She started to get her bag ready for work, and then pouring the coffee into a cup, she looked for her shoes.. Once found She headed back out. Locking her door behind her, she took her step onto the sidewalk. She looked up... the rain seemed to have stopped...

His body still wet from the pervious rains, he began his trek for home to begin another painting. Selling his artwork was all he really lived off of. Thank the unknow entity above that his old fashioned apartment home was inheirited. All expenses were paid off and the utilities, which he hardly used, were relevitely low priced. Luck had saved him thusfar. There was no out standing incident on this journey home, just the few puddles that reflected his sad face. Such a lovely way to lead a life, dull and boring. His shoes found home in the ugliest parts of the street. A miracle, he was still standing. Slowly, his gray home came to view, along with the building that it resided in. It was noticeable if you had an eye for architechture. It, on the outside, resembled a miniature gothic steeple. Thank god indeed, it was already paid off.

He reached the doors to the building and relexively gpanced up. A odd fate met his eyes. It was the young woman he had just met a few hour before, just leaving the smae building he was headed for. He did not know weather to hide or approach her... Artist's normally had horrid social skills. He managed a word,
"Umm..."
The extent of his ability exhausted, he ducked down an alleyway to take the long way home. He, afterall, felt a certain air of awkwardness and his skills could not really deal with such a concept.

(What do you wanna do with the rp? )

Maura yawned again raising her hand to her mouth. She shifted her green eyes down to where the male had been. "huh..." She tilted her head and then shrugged some heading off down the street back to the bar. She kept herself busy humming softly. To avoid getting dirty, she walked around puddles keeping an eye open for anything. She watched the people around her... She watched how they looked so drone. She liked being able to stand out. She didn't want to be one of the crowds.. someone that was just... there.

Before she had knew it, she standing at the bar's door. She looked at it, and sighed. "I have the ability to walk away... to change this routine." She blinked a few times and then turned away. She felt nervous at first. People she knew, they all lived on Routine. Thats what this city is about. She ready for that change. She wanted to make her life exciting. She had a special gift, why not use it to make things interesting...?

She looked up to someone's luandry and she waved her hand the clothing knotted. There had to be something bigger comming for her. Right?

Nye was wet. She wasn't sure if she was hot or cold but she knew for sure she was wet. She sat in her little make-shift home nestled in the alley way next to the Art suply store.

"It must be raining" She said in a daze, tilting her head to the right.

She sighed softly as a couple more cats made their way into her shelter and curled up to purr next to her. Two things never change for Nye are that no matter where her feet take her, the wind always brings her back to this store, and that the cats always come to her... when she's alone.

Nye was alone again. She felt like she would completely stop existing at any moment except that the cats came, and purred, and seemed to truly care.

She lost track of the days when she was alone. When was the last time she ate? Or slept? She wasn't sure. Her little gery and brown dress was muddy and torn, and her short black hair was matting. At some point she must of cut her hand open, and it hurt the way an infected wound hurts. To anyone who saw her she would look like an orphan child of maybe 15 years of age, but not even she knew her age anymore.

A large orange Tom cat stood near her and staired at her as if to say "You're going to die if you stay here any longer."

"I know" she told him and stood up.

He walked out into the dirty streets and she followed in a daze.

After quite some time she realized that the cat was gone, that she was completely alone, and her little body gave up. She fell to the ground and her world shifted to blackness. In a hase she thought she heard music... or maybe she could smell paint...

Feeling lost and rather stupid, he decided that it would be in his best interest to just take a walk around the city. Rain clouds drifted in and around the gray sunlight, making for another wet day. It started as a soothing shower, just to rinse off the dust from the windowsof the tallest towers. But, over time, it flew up in a raging storm. Lightening, thunder, everything. When the lightening struck, it struck with the vengence of a woman scorn. The entire city was bathed in white light, enough light to blind the already blind. Barely enough time was left between the light and the humongous roar of thunder, enough to deafen those who had taken shleter inside soundproof houses. Astris was the only one stupid enough to remain outside. It was is duty afterall. He was not in the greatest of moods The rain had to be calmed somehow. But, it continued to pour onwards, not an end to the maddness in sight. He just didn't care right now. The street water began to rise dangerously. Newspapers were stuck in the growing river, cans were made into little barges being tossed at sea. Somewhere in the distance, he thought he heard a HoverCar crash. But, he didn't care right now. He was lost in a state of self anlyasis that was not going over very well.

Eventually, he found himself near the Art Store once more. His friend, obviously sensing his self loathing, had boarded the windows. One board read, "You jackass!". It did not improve his mood. Somehow, he knew that Robert had hoped it would do just that. Astris trailed to an alleyway, where he saw a family of kittens all sheltered beneath a dumpster. They meowed loudly with fright. He couldn't blame them, but he wasn't going to stop himself just on account of the animals. Another meow resonated from down the street. Why on earth would a cat willingly submit itself to the water? He was slightly intrigued. His feet made a path through the alleyway, where he found the kitten nestled against a small girl. It took the man with blue hair by utter surprise. The thuder nearly seemed to stop in midsentence. She was pale, she looked sickly. Her hand seemed to object to the rain, for it bled like the sea of water in the streets. For a second, he stood there. The kitten, who thought a bit straighter than him, jumped on his leg and clawed him. He yelped andpulled the feisty thing off his. It yoewed and nestled against the girl once more. A sigh escaped his nose. It was going to be a rather awkward thing, to carry this girl to his shelter, but it was the right thing to do. Not knowing her background, her purpose in life or even her name, Astris scooped her up with the kitten resting in her lap. As he headed for his house, he thought he heard the moews of more kittens following him.

Dripping blue water, he entered his tall ceiled house and threw on the white lights. He placed the girl on his ragged couch, not worrying about the water. Not knowing what to do next, he decided to sneak in a change of clothing before she woke up. When he came back, he took a try at bandaging her hand. It looked like the job of someone who was not trained in the medical arts. He grimaced.

Nye was dreaming again, dreaming of something warm and clumsy, a little unsure, and nothing like a cat. She dreamt of a swaying and some splashing maybe as if she was on a ship. Perhaps she was going to catch some fish, or she was on a trip far away and she’d never return to that art shop again… but then…

She thought she must be in Roberts shop, because she could smell paint through her dream. It was impossible, she knew, because Robert would never let her in his shop.

Her dream was blackness except one little orange and black cat.

"Tulkra is your name." Nye told the little cat and he bowed his head. "You will inherit my left eye. Until the day I accept a benefactor, you belong to no one but me, do you agree to these terms?"

"I agree, Mistress Nye." Tulkra replied respectfully.

"Am I awake now Tulkra?" Nye asked, her voice a little fearful.

"You are Mistress Nye."

Nye opened her eyes and knew instantly that she was not in the shop. The light here was bright and unforgiving. She watched a man as he tried to bandage her wounded hand, and though she wondered many things about him, she opted to silently watch instead of asking. It would only be a matter of time until he noticed her eyes were open anyway…

( XD I have no idea where I am anymore... I think Maura was still on the street >.> )

Over the time, her steps had lingered. Where was she going? She had just not shown up to her job, and this was suppose to shake up her day. Then she started to think about the guy from ealier. If she saw him again... she should ask him out? She snickered some and she glanced over at the buidling she had seen him comming from, and she continued to walk and knock peoples clothing and even the curtians inside the homes.

He shifted around the white guaze of the bandage for a while until he came to the conclusion that it would be alright. Still, the way that it wrapped about her fragile hand, it bothered him greatly. He dismissed it as a fling of his artist's eye and rose with a backing cracking groan. The rain outside still fell lightly, but the sun began to peek out from behind the stoic clouds. It made him frown. This city was not suited for sunlight at all. It looked much better when the weather took a turn for the worst. But, perhaps it was just the nature of the city, with the paranoid people. He glanced down to the girl, his hand reaching up to scratch his blue haired head but he noticed that she was watching him intently. His hand stopped in midflight and he stared back, rather unwillingly. He cocked his head ever so slightly, but he soon fell into his customary slump of bad social skills. His eyes twitched away, his hand began to wring an invisible cloth and he started his first sentence with an, "Err..."
Socially awkward. What did she think of him, taking her inside to a strange house with almost no reason. Surely, it would not lead to good things. His mind jumped around it a paranoia so great, so pure that he gulped and took a few steps backwards.
"I'mnotgoingtodoanythingbad, honest. I just... saw you in the alley, you looked... Sort of... Not well... And I, umm, thought it to be inyourbestinteresttobetakenin... side. Away from the... Err... Whatchamacallit... Wet. Ness."
With those words, the rain stopped and he turned slightly red. It took a few seconds for him to realize that he had just said the stupidest things.

Nye blinked up at him slowly, Tulkra sat up next to her, and in unison they tilted their heads to the right. Nye took it all in, his focus, then his hesitation, his blush, his gazes outside, the movement of his lips when he spoke, all the colours, textures, smells and movements added up in a complex primal math. She knew that he could not become her benefactor, and yet she still felt drawn to him. Tulkra disliked him, and it was obvious, this stranger was very unlike a cat.

With a surprising speed she was kneeling before him clutching his shirt in her hand.

"Please, don't leave me alone." She said in a shaking little voice. Her eyes were the deepest brown they could have been black, and they were wide with panic. "I can cook, and I can clean. I can find my own food, and I hardly make a sound, just please, don't leave me alone..." as she spoke her hand slipped from his shirt and slowly she fell to the floor thinking *A normal girl would be crying, and my eyes stay dry* "Please don't leave me alone... I'm running out of things to sacrifice."

"Mistress Nye!" Tulkra said to her inside her head. "If you do not ask for food you will die."

Nye looked up at the man from where she'd fallen to the floor and mustering all the dignity she could said "If I don't eat something soon, I'll die."

He let out a strange yelp of surprise at the girls outburst. He could have told anyone that she looked just slightly desperate for some companionship. And who was he to deny her some food at least? His heart, though silent and rather icy at times, could not allow her back on to the streets. Of course, he would not leave her in this state, even if the cat looked at him with furious eyes. That much was understood, for he had never met a cat that liked him at all as much as he found them to be cute and fuzzy. He silently bade her to sit back down on the couch and rest while he went to collect some food.
"Any particular allergies or distastes in the way of food?" he asked quietly, his piercing blue eyes staring towards the ground. In any case, he glided to the kitchen to collect an apple and a small box of crackers.
You'll have to bear with me... I'm a vegetarian..." He managed a slight grin as he handed her the food.

Nye sighed and slumped into the sofa.

"I can eat anything, I'm ferrell." She said and then made quick work of the food he offered. In fact she ate the whole apple including the core, and looked almost as if she would eat the box the crackers were in, but settled for just licking the wax paper bag instead. Her face seemed to come alive with colour after she ate, all the panic from a moment ago was gone, and she streched and yawned big, revealing a set of excessively sharp and pointy teeth.

"My name is Nye." She said and smiled sweetly. "This here is Tulkra." She said, picking up the black and orange cat. "He's a bit fiesty, but he will never do anything to harm you because we are in your dept." She said more to the cat than to the blue haired man who had saved her life.

"I say kill him and then we can live here in peace and feed on his body." Said Tulkra inside her head while he licked one of his front paws.

Nye sighed again and then looked at this strange new man. "As I said, we are in your dept, and I'm afraid I have no where else to go... so what are you going to do with us young master?"
