We do this thing with our flutes where we put the mouth rest where the hole is on our stands. I'm usually in first row, so when i did it the last time, it fell and along with it went the stand. Sadly, i broke the stand and my band director just wouldn't let it go. Happily, I didn't break my flute!

My clarinet is like my baby, teen age pregnancy...with an instrument! I think the closest I've been was sitting on the case then going HOSHIT MY CLARINETS IN THERE.

Once in band I stood my clarinet up on the floor so I could get my music out. And then I was putting my music on the stand and my elbow knocked into my clarinet. Which hit the leg of the music stand. Which screwed up my clarinet so it would only pay a certain amount of notes. (We got it fixed later, and my mom didn't go wacko because it was the first time I messed my clarinet up. Wewt!!)

It's funny during concert season last school year (so like from january-june of this year) I would flick open the latches on my flute case, leave it on my chair and then leave to get a stand, my music, more water, etc... then when I would come back I would forget that I had unlatched my flute case and pick it up by the handle and my flute would come spilling out! That happened at least five times. It was so funny because every single flute around me would all gasp at the same time because I'd just dropped my flute... again, but then I would be laughing my a** off!

I haven't dropped/sat on/thrown my flute, but I have accidently hit my sister in the head with it. sad I felt terrible.
Although I have had my flute fall/spill out of the case like Blue_Vampire said. sweatdrop My older flute had a TERRIBLE case, and the little latch/clasp things were really...weak or something. But my new flute & flute case are awesome, so that won't happen anymore!

Ya, my old flute's case was horrible. The latches had no power in them and would easily come undone. I was walking done the middle of the hallway when I hear a clang and all three pieces of my flute are sliding down the hallway floor ahead of me.
It had a really huge dent in the headjoint. sweatdrop

yeah... once at my house i put my flute down on a chair for two seconds, cuz i wanted to go get a soda. well, i came back and someone had sat on my flute. it had two huge indentations. sweatdrop stressed it never played the same. crying And, i'm a clutz, so i ALWAYS dropped my flute...... luckily, i got a new flute this summer!!! 4laugh ^^ it's a Soloist by Emerson and it's open-holed, silver head, and a b-foot cleft. i'm soooo excited!!!! heart heart

oh my freakin god stressed . its so bad when we go for a water break. my flute has been stepped on so much. i'm afraid to even let others come near my flute while i am holding it or if it is even out of its case. whee
|

i was playing around once and swung my flute like a baseball bat and it flew about 7 yards across our practice field (which is paved) ^_^ it was hillarious (the flute was damaged though)

I was at a competition once and dropped my flute on the pavement...yeah...section leader LOVED that...

I play trumpet but the flute section leader HAD a piccolo, but she put it on top of her car and forgot about it and drove off. We found it the next day. The keys were all over the road, it was a mess. crying

i got pissed at some one and through my clarinet at them. then i got pissed at the clarinet and trough it. lol i have anger issues
