She chose not to elaborate on her fear of the leaf biting her. It had been a momentary thing and now, she thought it was quite ridiculous of her to have been worried in the first place. After all, the leaf didn't have any teeth.
"Go ahead," she shrugged, "but I'm not sure how much it'll like being touched."
The leaf wasn't to keen about the idea, but, she was on a mission. Determined, the leaf reached out towards Jayoku's hand and, with a little tug and a heave, tickled the tips of the woman's fingers.
Green's eyes widened in surprise (and just a bit of jealousy) when the leaf made the first contact with Jayoku. It was rare for the leaf to acknowledge anybody. Not even Eve, one of Green's daughters who had a particular connection with nature, could usually excite the leaf's attention.
"I've no name for it, no," she sighed, "I'm not sure if it will grow up into a girl or a boy."
Around them, impatient customers were begining to leave the restaraunt and the staff were looking increasingly desperate.
Just then, the skinny waiter she'd spoken with before made his way over to their table and asked for their orders.

A soft gasp escaped her lips as the little leaf tugged at the tipe of her finger. She tried to restrain herself from poking again and instead let the leaf tug.
She only looked up and even then it was breif whent he waiter arrived. Her attention then went back rivited on the leaf.
"Broccolie cheese soup and a ceaser salad please." she ordered quickly as she then went about trying to tickle the leaf with the tip of her nail. Curious as a cat with a new and strange toy.she now ignored the waiter much to his irritation.

Green laughed out loud at Jayoku's visible change of mind. There would be no reporting Gee to the police, after all!
"Grilled ham and cheese sandwich," she told the waiter offhandedly, "and an apple juice, please."
He recorded their meals and then raced off.
Suddenly, she realised that the little plant in front of her may have wanted some thing as well. Green lifted up her arm and waved him back.
The waiter was looking a bit disgruntled, as several other people were demanding his attention as well, and, after reassuring a few people that their food was on its way, he returned.
"How may I help you?"
"I'd like some water, please."
"Alright." In a flash, the waiter was off to the kitchens.
The leaf recoiled from Jayoku's touch in such a way that suggested the woman wasn't allowed to touch her. In fact, the leaf was of the opinion that only it could touch Jayoku and not the other way around.
However, the leaf was no match for the tip of the woman's nail, and it shook as though it was giggling.

A smile curled onto her lips, though she ceased her relentless tickleing and then stared eye level at the leaf. "This indeed in an interesting plant...you say it will change into a child?" She asked her smile twitching as if she was trying to decide if she should keep smiling or not.
"HOw does it do that? If you don't mind me asking?" she continued her gaze intent on the lilttle leaf and then slid a finger back to the rim of the pot just inches away from the leaf. She didn't want to cause it too much stress....
now who was going crazy? she was believing this leaf as animate as it was would have beahvoir as well as feelings...she continued looking at it her smile slowly turning back into a serious but grim expression.

"Supposedly," Green nodded and awkwardly retrieved the letter Lena had written her about the leaf from the back pocket of her jeans, "Here."
She handed the letter over to Jayoku, pleased to have somebody other than her daughters to talk about the subject with.
"I'm guessing that its the soul inside it," Green shrugged, "Do you think its personality is distinct now, even if its only a leaf?"
The leaf was relieved when Jayoku ceased tickling her and, aware that the woman's eyes were still on her, began to move in a liquidy fashion.

Taking her eyes off the plant she took the letter lightly in hand and then with a slight hesitation retreieved the letter from inside. She skimmed the contents breifly, re-read a couple of paragraphs and then put it back int he envelope.
"This is all so very odd....a spirit you say?" she asked her gaze now locked on the leaf as it wiggeled about "Where does this spirit come from exactly? Was it born to the leaf? Comes later?" She had always disbelieved in spirits and ghosts, but now she could feel her resovle on the subject crashing down around her.
"Personality?" she repeated Green's question in an echo. "Sure it certainly seems to have one..." she trailed off her eyes ever locked on the leaf.

"I've no clue," Green shook her head. This woman was triggering ideas and thought processes Green hadn't originally cared to consider. It was amazing how many questions she hadn't asked about the mysterious leaf.
"When I went to plant it in the pot it put up quite a fight," she sighed and prodded the leaf with her finger, "Do you know how difficult it is too fight against something so delicate? I might have wripped it!"
The leaf was growing increasingly annoyed by all of the poking and prodding. It was on a mission here, dammit, and there was absolutely no need for this silly chatter. The leaf strained against the roots that held it in place in order to tickle Jayoku's finger again.
