Now that she had been with him for a while, the female wasn't as frightened of his fangs or strange appearance as she had been at first. In fact, she was quite comfortable with him. He seemed to take a sort of liking to her, and so she carefully assumed he wouldn't hurt her, though he looked quite capable of, what with all those muscles and such. And if he wouldn't attack her, did that mean he would defend her? She didn't exactly want to find out... dangerous situations always gave her great scares that Echo was sure would kill her one of these days.

Ears pricked forward as she listened to his words. She rather liked listening to him, his voice. It was rough but in some way gentle and comforting. It was a weird combination, really.

She thought for a moment, blinking at him randomly. Finally, she put together what she hoped would be understandable in what she was looking for. "Who... home, a friend." He hadn't said family, darn. Echo didn't have too many friends and so didn't want to appear like something or someone she wasn't. But, she was simply paranoid and so probably didn't have to worry much about it anyways.

"Friend..." How could she make that into something that gave a hint that she was actually looking for a family member? Finding no real answer to that question, the female simple sighed and sat down, watching the ground with her usual daze.

Echo's voice was soft and calming to Logan, he liked it quite much. Though her words were a repetition of his own, he liked it none the less. He watched as Echo seemed to think, most likely of putting words together to say what she wished, she seemed calmer now as well, that was good. He didn't want her to feel nervous or threatened by him, Logan could be a strong warrior, but he also had another side, Logan becoming a gentle giant.

She did say who, and a friend, and home. Perhaps she was on her way home to see her friend...but wait. That wouldn't make sense, well, it could, but very little. Perhaps she was living with a friend, but usually when another said home, it had to relate with one of the family, hmm...wait, had he said family before?

His ears twitched sideways as he considered what to say next...

"So your looking to head home, right Echo? Are you meeting a friend, or family? Or both?" Perhaps those words would help a bit, help him as well, Logan sat down now, his curled tail still wagging behind him though.

Echo's head perked up when the male seemed to give her more options. She wagged her tail and nodded, her eyes becoming bright once more. "Looking to head home. Meeting.. family!" Yes, she was going to meet her sister, the only family she really had left. Sure, her parents and brother were still alive, but they didn't quite accept her for who she was. Ophelia had. Ophelia had been the only one to stick by her. Ophelia was family.

She watched him with bright eyes then after she had finally gotten out what she had wanted to say. He was definitely a nice one, seeming to understand her curse and not letting himself be bothered by it. That was a true friend right there.

And as she watched him, the female finally noticed his curled tail. She tilted her head a bit to the side. Having never seen a naturally-curled tail before, she was quite intrigued by this one. She glanced at him in silent question. Then, without really thinking of what exactly she was doing, the omega rose to her paws and slowly made her way over towards his tail. Still rather curious, she nipped at it, but very gently.

The furs on it, however, tickled her nose, causing her to turn away and sneeze. Echo then looked back at his tail, her head tilted once more as she watched it.

Logan smiled and wagged his tail enthusiactically as Echo seemed a bit excited that he accepted her way of voicing herself, speaking in ways not to confuse her, and himself. He blinked once or twice, eyes adjusting to the light in this area.

Family. She was meeting family. Must be nice, to have someone to go home to and call your family, a friend you could rely on. Logan had lost that before, when he wasn't "like everyone else" in his old pack. He was different, he accepted that, it was a shame his pack did not. But Echo seemed to like him, which made him quite content being around her, quite happy she didn't push him away like others did in the past.

He smirked and smiled as Echo seemed to become interested in his tail, he admitted it was quite odd, quite normal for the pack he came from. Everyone had curled tails there, away from them though he knew it would appear strange. Watching her as she seemed to ask him without words, she got up and came nearer to him, to look at his tail more. He smiled and held in a chuckle as she looked at it, and nipped it slightly.

Never before had anyone, let alone a female done that to him...he was kind of taken back by her move, but he smiled, he liked it in a weird odd sort of way. He held in a laugh as she sneezed after her move,
"Its funny isn't it?" he said, a statement towards his tail as he wagged it back and forth, making the fur on it poof up a bit. "Not like other tails, but I like it." He wondered if he should comment on her...no, wrong thing to think, she was a little surprised about his statement of her being pretty.

It was nice for the female, to have someone there that she could go back to every day and just keep company with. Her and her twin sister Ophelia were the closest of siblings, and it was nice that they had finally left home, gotten away from their parents. Though life on their own was a bit difficult, they got on well enough.

Distracted away from the fact that she had to get back to Ophelia, the young she-wolf took a slight step back away from him so that she may get a better look at the tail. It curved upwards and over his back, seeming to rest straight on his backbone. She wondered if it ached to keep it up all the time like that.

Echo narrowed her eyes at his strange tail, though in a friendly and somewhat playful sort of way if it was even possible. She was completely excited that he had agreed to help her out and all, but she couldn't help but to just stand there all intrigued-like while looking at his tail. It was just so new and amusing...

Suddenly feeling like she simply had to play with it, the wolfess hopped forward and pawed at it, for a moment sidling up to him, her side brushing his.

It was nice here, today had gone better then expected, a new experience revealed itself with the random meeting of himself and Echo. Echo was nice, wasn't afraid or nervous anymore, and she had someone to go back to, and he could help her. But who was he looking for? No doubt the scent of Echo would be on teh scent of the other wolf, but in a minimal amount.

Perhaps Echo could give him an idea of what type of scent to look for. Male, female, if they smelled like the pines or the sea. Anything could help.

Though he found amusement in her amusement of his tail. She was seeming to be studying it, it curled very much compared to other wolves he had seen, with only slightly curled tails. His, was very curly, though teh curl didn't pain him at all. When he was young it did...only because the others in his pack would pull on it with their teeth. But those aches were gone.

He merely wuffed outloud when she moved but brushed up against him, he felt a sort of shiver go up adn down his spine at one time. But he held his maw shut, he can't act all weird now, not when she began to paw at his tail. Though he did like the attention, even if it was mostly towards his tail.

Back to reality! His mind was getting caught up in all that was Echo, everything he ahd found out about her, seen of her and such. Back to trying to help her...

"Where are you going Echo? Home, yes. To family." he thught for a moment before continuing, she seemed like she was old enough to be out on her own, perhaps she was living with a sibling...sistermore likely. Logan had never heard of a brother staying with a sister... "To..your sister?" he asked questioningly, wondering if his assumption was right.

Echo, unawares to the shiver she had caused in the male's spine, continued to play with his tail. She bared her teeth playfully once, then grabbed it immiately in her jaws and gave it a little tug. She was careful not to pull too hard, though, for she knew the uncomfortable feeling one got when the tail was pulled too hard. So she tried to be fair and keep her tugs gentle.

Eventually she resorted back to nibbling, for that seemed to work better for her. All those times of her and her twin eating at their brother's ears had given the female the idea that she liked nibbling better than tugging or biting.

Finally she let his tail go and trotted back around so that he could look at her without craning his neck or anything of that sort. She then flopped down onto her side, her tongue sort of hanging out and brushing the ground in a pant. All that playing with his tail had her a bit worn out. But not so much so that she couldn't wag her tail or perk her ears to listen to him.

"Family.. to sister!" she yipped, lifting her head for a moment so that she could nod. Then she let it rest back on the ground, her tail still wagging. It was nice to have someone who didn't care about her curse.

Logan was getting used to the feeling of Echo nibbling on his tail, she seemed to enjoy it, and oddly enough, he did too. When he felt her begin to tug, he almost froze, but she didn't tug hard at all, not all at, she did it gently, as if testing it a bit.

She then resorted back to nibbling, which he didn't mind at all, really, she seemed to enjoy it, which was a good enough reason for him to have her do it. It sent little chills up his spine, they felt odd, he hadn't felt things like this before, but they were nice things, he wondered if she felt them too.

Logan smiled as she stopped and came to sit next to him, well, really lay next to him, she seemed a bit tired. Perhaps she had walked a long way before coming here. The words of her going to see her sister were a relief, now he knew to smell for a female scent, with Echo's scent on it as well. Echo seemed very excited of finding the right words, she must be close with her sister...what he thought anyway.

"Would you like to rest before we go Echo? I can help bring you back to her...if you point in the general direction that is..." he said with a smile and low wuff as her curled his tail a bit so it was by her tail as well.

Echo grinned as she lay there, watching him. She wasn't stupid and so had noticed his expressions, those looks that he seemed to give her. But she was oblivious enough to not exactly know what they meant. She just knew that he at least liked her as a friend, and that alone was good enough for her.

Panting still, she continued to lay there while he talked and asked her a few questions. Her ears perked towards him so that she wouldn't accidentally miss anything. And after he was done, she thought for a moment. Ophelia would definitely start to worry if she stayed out too long, and they were too far out of range for the omega to let her twin know what was going on.

Finally she came to a decision. "Rest before we go," she repeated, shaking her head to know that she didn't want to. Well, she did need a little rest, but she didn't want her sister to worry. Ophy was on edge as it was already..

Sighing, the female slowly rose to her paws, brushing him again in all of her awkwardness.

"General direction..." she said slowly, looking around. She had sort of become confused in her little tumble with his tail, but in a moment she remembered where she was and which way was the proper direction towards the den she shared with her sister. "That," she stated simply, pointing with her nose the direction she had been heading originally.

Just then Echo became nervous. What would her sister think of Logan?
PostPosted: Mon Jun 19, 2006 6:23 pm

Regardless of Echo seeming to be tired, she did not wish to stay and rest for a few moments. But it was a good idea though, to just start as soon as possible, after all, he was just heading in one direction, to a den of Echo and her sister.

Logan again held in a wuff as Echo stood up and brushed up against him again. What was this weird feeling he couldn't describe? He knew if he said anything about it, Echo could get nervous, better to not say anything yet. Perhaps later, if the time called for it. For all Logan knew, Echo liked him as a friend, but that was a start...he liked her very much too.

He stood up and shook his fur, it seemed to poof out a bit, especially his tail and the tuft on his head, he stretched for a moment and trotted over to Echo, looking in the direction in which she pointed.

He wondered if he should walk in front of her, or have her lead the way. She did in deed have scars, he wondered if other woles in the area meant her harm, well, he'd make sure he protect ehr then of course. Perhaps walking side by side with her, yes, that would be good. He took one small step forward and waited for her, to see if she would understand without words,
"Are you ready to go back home Echo?" he asked with a smile as he wagged his tail.

Then a thought hit him..her sister...would she say anything...he gulped a bit, not noticebly though, he hoped Echo's sister would like him as a wolf, good impressions were good afterall.

Echo definitely did like him as a friend, though with all that was happening at that time in her life it was probably impossible for her to like him that way. But with all that he had done for her just recently and with the way she was all calm and such, it probably wouldn't have been so bad for him to perhaps say a little something.

But she didn't really mind at that moment, being as all she really wanted to do was get back to her sister before Ophelia began to worry too much and end up going off in some sort of search.

Standing fully on her paws, the female then stretched out and let a yawn overtake her maw for a moment. Then she shook her head and fur to clear it of any dirt that may have tried to catch a free ride with her.

"Ready to go back home," she said, nodding along with it to let him know that she was indeed ready. Then, still wagging her tail, the female walked up beside him. She had seen him take a small step and began to wonder what he was thinking. "Ready?" she asked him then, wondering if he truly was.

Logan noted Echo seemed to want to get back home quite a bit, perhaps her sister worried a lot? Or Echo was supposed to be back at a certain time? Either were possibilities, best to get her home as quick as possible, though Logan didn't want to quite leave her side yet. He was worried that he might never see her again.

Watching her stand and walk over, she seemed quite ready, but she asked him is he was ready...odd. Well, not too odd. He was ready to help her, but wasn't ready to say good-bye, he didn't want their good-bye to be forever...maybe he could convince Echo and her sister to come back with him? Maybe Phib would allow it..Logan wasn't toally sure though, and he wasn't sure if Echo would want that.

He wanted her to be happy...

But he also wanted to be around her as well. He nodded to her question though, and smiled at her softly, then spoke in his odd soft-rough tpye of voice again, "I'm ready to help Echo, yes, just waiting..." he wagged his tail a bit, his smile never fading, "Though I like Echo..." er, meaning...had to fix it now, "I'd like to walk along with Echo, next to me...if thats okay."

He was a bit nervous, he just crewed up a sentence, what if she got nervous again! What had he done! He cursed himself in his mind, and hoped she would be alright, he liked Echo, he admitted that to himself. He wanted her to like him as well, but he didn't want to push her at all. He wanted Echo to like him for who he was, just as he liked Echo for who she was. Yet still, this might be hard...not the tracking, he knew that wouldn't take long...but saying good-bye when they got there...that would be.

Echo didn't exactly want to say good-bye either, but her reason was probably different than his. She liked him, but mostly as a friend at this point. The only reason she didn't want to say good-bye was because she considered him a good friend, and she wanted him to stay and perhaps help her and her twin. But did he have a pack that he belonged to? That little tidbit in particular never occured to her before this point, and now she found herself a bit surprised that she hadn't thought about it eariler. But it wasn't like she could just ask him if he was in a pack...

If he was in a pack, then she basically found all hope lost. Her parents had become uptight and angry when they had begun to form a pack, so the female had a bit of a fear of packs. She wouldn't want to go into the territory to visit him, and she wasn't all sure whether or not he'd leave the lands to visit her. But, that was all only if he had a pack, which she still wasn't sure if he had one or not.

Her ears suddenly perked and her thoughts all dispersed as he seemed to fumble with her sentences. Luckily, she hadn't caught his blunder when he said that he liked her, so her only reaction was to tilt her head questioningly.

A moment later, though, he seemed fine and Echo wagged her tail happily. It pleased her that he wanted to walk beside her, instead of ahead or behind her.

"That's okay," she said, smiling and nodding her head, tail stlil wagging. She rather liked that he chose to walk beside her..

Logan was happy Echo seemed content with his decision to walk alongside her. Logan never understood why someone always had to lead, even between a few wolves, true, alphas would be on a higher rank, but everyone was equal to one another, they were all wolves of course. But he rather liked having Echo walk beside him, as he followed a faint trail of a scent of a female not too far away.

This was nice...

He wondered if she was in a pack, perhaps with her sister in a neighboring one to Phib's, that would be nice. He could visit her, make sure he never lost contact with her, ever, he rather liked Echo, even if she did not feel teh same way at the moment, he didn't want to lose what he had with her at this moment in time.

Perhaps he should pose the question...if she had a pack...

He knew by the scent that is must be Ech's sister, they weren't too far from her either, that meant Logan only had a minimal amount of time with Echo no...especially if Echo's sister did not like him being around her sister.
"Echo," his gruff voice asked in a low tone, calming no less, "Are you and your sister in a pack?"

Mayber if they weren't in a pack, they could come back with him! Surely Phib would have no objections to two females wishing to join his pack, Logan would surely make sure they were both welcome, yes, that would be great, all depended on Echo adn her sister though. Logan did want to have Echo around, but he also wanted her to be happy, and he didn't want her to feel like he was trying to force her into anything.

Echo hadn't even thought of the aspect of one wolf following another. Sure, it wasn't always so pleasant to look at another's rear end while walking somewhere, but then she didn't really think it mattered. What if one knew the way and the other didn't? Wouldn't it make sense for one to follow so one didn't get lost? Seemed logical enough, but she had made an exception for Logan. He had asked, and of course she couldn't have refused.

One thought leading to the next, she then wondered why he had wanted to walk beside her in the first place. There was nothing special about her that would make one obliged to walk beside her, so why had he asked?

But she wasn't able to quite figure it out as Logan suddenly asked her if she and Ophelia were in a pack. The question caught her off-guard and she sort of jumped at it, as if his voice was some physical force that had pulled her from another world. She eyed him for a moment with her ears back, but then she regained herself and managed an answer.

"Are in a pack?" she repeated. Then she shook her head, telling him that they were not in one. The female tilted her head after that, giving him a silent question as to why he had randomly asked that.
