Ausha peeked around from where he sat beside Mchele, the surprise abating at the sight of this female. He wondered, had he seen her before somewhere? He couldn't tell, but the familiarity was there. He was on unsteady ground in the precence of parents, only vaguely able to remember his mother and having no recollection of a father. What would it have been like to have a mother who you told things?
He grinned faintly and replied with amusement. "Hope the things he told you weren't /all/ bad."
He was grateful that Mchele aided him in tackling the hard part, the introduction. After all, he had no idea what he had told his mother or hadn't and didn't want to stick his paw in it. He was about to add the affirmative, possibly toss in his rank in the hope it would impress when the cubs arrived. He could only blink at the pink and white female as she pounced Mchele, sending waves of unfounded jealousy through him for just a second. But he waved it away, well aware that the cub was no threat. Again he opened his mouth to speak but was thwarted, this time however, the word that did so was most definately unexpected.
"Dad?!" What was this? An impromptu family reunion?!
He looked at Mchele, not actually very bothered by the connotations of the female's words, having already sired cubs himself, but still, the idea of messing playfully with Mchele was too much to bear. He feigned anger, but playfulness danced in his gaze and tone.
"Oh yeah? Explain then. This better be a doozy."

Bakhti smiled at Mchele and looked over Ausha, it was then it clicked. "Your Masuka's son." She said it as a face and then pointed with a paw to the marking. "Your mother has it. I remember her." She sometimes thuight of the old grey lioness and wondered what had come of her but her thoughts were cut off with small cubs and the word dad.
"Mchele? they are yours? You better look after them and dont you dare go abandoning their mother!" She had never sounded so vicious to her children in their lives and she didn't expect Mchele to leave the mother and the fact that the little girl had Bakhti's own eyes made her calmer as she laid down to look at the cubs.
"I do look like your dad because I am his mother." She looked at the small black cub and then back at Mchele, "The mother black and pink?" She guessed, looking at the two cubs in front of her, it seemed the logical guess.

"No, I really had no idea you two were sneaking up on me. Such stealthy cubs! You'll make great hunters one day." Mchele told his daughter and son with a happy smile, before looking to the two older lions.
At Ausha's feigned anger the full-grown male dipped his head in played-up submission. "Well it was before I spoke to you Ausha.. about us... I had decided I wanted to be sure of my feelings before declaring my affection for you. Kizuka was a close friend, she still is, and well... for a while we grew closer." He trailed off and gave the pale lion a quick look of helplessness. Kizuka was certainly his closest friend next to Ausha and his lost sister Kib. But he found he didn't love her, not the way he did Ausha. He tried to convey this with his expression and a small shrug. But he didn't dare say outloud that he didn't love the cubs' mother in the that way most mates did.
"This doesn't change what I said to you before though." He said meaningfully. He still meant every word of what he'd told the graveyard lion about his love for him.
Then with a look of hurt in his eyes he then turned to his mother. She actually thought he might do that?? "And I certainly wouldn't do anything like that...." his voice, which had been quietly firm for that statement, turned normal again, "..unless she asked. But I told her I would provide and care for her and our young as best I could if she would allow me and she's agreed."
His attention then turned to the cubs playing at his paws. "Anyway, our time together bought us three cubs, Kota and Kilua here and Trina who's still asleep with Kizuka I assume." He looked around himself in case his last cub was sneaking about too but there was no sign of her.
"Trina still with mum?" He asked the two youngsters.
Kilua rolled over onto her belly and stood up, looking at the older female with matching blue eyes. "You're Dad's mummy?" She repeated, full of wonder. Wow... her dad was sooo big! And this was his mum, just like Kizzy was her mum. "Are you my Mummy's mummy too?" She asked with a child's seriousness.
Most of her father's conversation was lost her little ears. It sounded dull and full of words and things that she didn't understand. Much more interesting were the other two big lions. She wandered up to Bakhti and pushed her nose against her's for a moment and giggled. "Heehee, nooo!" She squeaked as if it was an obvious answer that Bakhti should know. "Mummy's pink and white like me! Kota's just funny coloured."
Only when she heard her father say her name did she glance back up at him. "Uh uh, Trin's still asleep. She didn't come with us." Her gaze then quickly fell on Ausha and she crept around her dad to look at him. "What about you? You Daddy's brother? Or his dad?"

At the mention of his name the black and white cub looked to his sister and gave a little grump nu uh! Momma says I'm speshul not funny coloured!" he pulls a tongue Clambering over his fathers feet to go and see his grand mother "howzat you made im so big? We'sa mommas and wesa vury smalls" he looks at his father with a curious eye as much as the female looked like his dad, his father seemed far too big to be her cub.
Of course his attention wasn't kept there for too long and he skittered off after his siter flying pouncing her and gnawing her tiny round ears his chocoal eyes looking up at the grey and white male. "are you daddys brother?" he asked, perhaps he was! perhaps thats why he was black and white instead of pink or brown "yous black n whites like me!" he grins going cross eyed "see my nose is whites an'" he turns all the way around to show his little white tail makrs "an whites there too!" he grins looking up at Ausha wide eyed and bushy tailed.

Ausha was overwhelmed and could only really stare as Bakhti announced that she recognised him by his mother. He rarely spoke of her to anyone, not ashamed of her, simply too set on his own independence. Besides, she had left him as a cub in such a dangerous place as the graveyard. He cast his eyes onto the mark on his shoulder, the one that his family had come to regard as a curse, one handed down from Blanc to them.
"Yes. Masuka was my mother." he looked at his paws "Is she..still alive?" he had often wondered if his mother still walked the lands like the ghost of a lioness he remembered.
But he didn't have time to dwell on this as the lioness commented on the cubs before them. He hadn't even thought about the mother or the fact that one had to have been involved in the production of them. But now that he did he couldn't help the slight jealousy that rose in him. He just hoped he didn't have to get involved with her, he loved Mchele more than words could say and the idea of a female trying to muscle in on his man using cubs as leverage made him peevish to say the very least.
Still, the cubs themselves were adorable and made him long to see his own cubs again.
He couldn't help but give Mchele a grin as he spoke. He couldn't explain why, when he supposed he ought to have been furious or at the very least, jealous, he felt nothing but kindness towards the lion before him. He wasn't so petty as to grudge Mchele friends, he trusted him and understood his unspoken words. He nodded "That's all I needed to hear."
Then his attention shifted back to the boistrous cubs, watching them with facinated nervousness. He was never quite sure how to deal with youngsters, all too used to demanding attention himself. Quite unexpectedly he found himself the subject of both of their attentions and blinked.
"Uhm...I'm not your dad's brother..just a friend. And his dad?!" he spluttered, almost sliding into freakout mode "Darling, I'm not /that/ old looking, am I?" He didn't even have a proper mane!...so he put it down to cub naivety. Nodding to Koho, he smirked playfully "Black and white are the best colours, if I do say so myself."

"I would hope she is, I miss her." Bakhti let out a sigh before she turned her attention to what Mchele was saying.
"I am glad, but... may I ask if you are going to tell them about you two? I guess you will.. but.. be careful darling." She nuzzled her son briefly before she realised she might be embarressing him. She turned to Ausha and gave a soft smile before turning back to the little girl. "No I am not your mummy, mummy. She has her own somewhere.
Bakhti turned to the other and was surprised by his comments. She couldn't help chuckle either, now that would be amusing, Ausha, either her mate or son. She couldn't help but find it ever so amusing!
"Your father was small once like you were, a very cute cub he was! He grew though, quickly like his sister..." She trailed off as she normally did with thoughts of Kib and turnd away from the gathering to lay on her own for a little bit.

It only just occurred to Mchele that Bakhti had been talking about Ausha's own mother. He'd heard so little about her it seemed almost unbelievable that his own mother should have know his lover's mother. Well, if anything that might mean Bakhti would like Ausha more. Mchele hoped so anyway. Somehow it was important that his mother liked his choice, if only somewhat.
He also hoped that perhaps she could shed some light on the whereabouts and health of Ausha's parent, but it seemed Bakhti knew no more than Ausha did. Quietly, Mchele lovingly nudged the white and black lion's chin with his nose. "I hope so too." He agreed, though he'd never met the lioness in question.
It didn't occur to him that Ausha might be jealous of Kizuka. No one had ever acted that way in regards to Mchele before. He feared that perhaps Ausha would think him a liar after saying those things to him but having laid with a lioness. But the fear was quashed by graveyard lion's grin. He smiled back. Maybe later he could spend some quality time with him, without the presence of his mother and cubs.
"Haha! He's not my brother, and certainly not my dad!" He had to laugh at his cubs' questions. It pleased him greatly to find that Ausha and Bakhti found them amusing, although Ausha seemed a little put-out by the assumption. "He's a very very close friend." He confirmed his partner's words and then looked up at his mother. "Yes... when they're older and able to understand it better." He loved his mother but couldn't she see he was trying to avoid confusing and possibly upsetting his cubs while they were still so young?
"Oooo a friend." Kilua repeated. What was a friend? All she had known was family. "And I want to meet Mummy's mummy too! And Dad was small? Small as us? Wow..." She breathed. "We'll grow big like that too?" It seemed an incredible notion. "And he had a sister! I've got a sister!"
But when Kota showed off his tail, Kilua was distracted and couldn't help but leap at it playfully. Grabbing it by the bushy end with her teeth, she pulled and skittered, keeping out of Kota's paw range should he try to turn back on her.
She giggled through a mouthful of tail-fluff. "-ink n -hite's tha besh!" She tried to say but quickly let go when she spotted something else. "Hey!" She cried joyfully at Ausha. "You've got stripes too! Like me like me!"

'Kota grinned up at Ausha giving a nod of aggreement, he thought black and white were the best colours to "i likes him daddy can we brings him home?" The black and white cub grinned broadly "he can be our big fluffy brother daddys friend thingie!!" she chipped in trying to invent a name for Ausha as he sat there on his paws.
Of course being told he was going to be as big as his father one day made his charcoal eyes go as big as dishplates "I'll be big and have a fluff?" he looked between the older female and his father with a huge facinating grin "fluff fluff!" he giggled of course by fluff he meant mane, still he was chuffed as cheese to hear this little bit of information about their future.
His tail was then grabbed by his sister though and he tried to turn to bat her off "owie! I needs that! gerrof!" He tried to n** at his sister unsuccessfully until she let go at which point he flying tackled her and got pay back by gnawing her ear.

Ausha was slightly put out by the lack of information Bakhti had on his mother. Though they had never seen truly eye to eye, he still cared about her welfare, the thought that something may have happened to her, so alone and sad as she'd always been made his heart ache. Mchele's nuzzle helped ease his worries a little, but not entirely. Maybe someday he'd find her. Still, he gave the wonderfully yellow lion a warm smile for his support. "She'll be okay, she was always so strong."
He cackled at Mchele's counter to the cub's questions if he was his dad or brother. "Very close." was all he said with the tiniest of smirks.
The silver lion grinned apologetically at Bakhti as she spoke of telling the cubs about them cautiously, that was definately something he wasn't looking forward to having a paw in. Couldn't they just assume they were friends for a long while yet? Relief washed over him as Mchele seemed to share this sentiment, they could leave it be a while longer.
He nodded to Kilua. "Yep. Stripes on your bum is a sign of beauty." and then promply burst into laughter, approving of the cubs already.

Bakhti licked at her paws, it was her way of letting her mind settle, to do something very cat like. She was still listening of course and when the little black cub mentioned about being like his father she chuckled. "You will probably be better looking then your father!" She chuckled softly, in the way she always had done. It didn't look like any of them had inherited her temper, but then she had never seen Mchele with a temper, maybe only her second litter got the problem temper their mother has.

"If you take after her, I'm sure she will. You're a surviver after all. Must have got it from somewhere." Mchele told the monochromatic lion. Even if Ausha was on the scraggly side and needed a bit of help with his wellfare, he still managed to survive out in the graveyard.
The cub's comments then pulled his gaze away. "Well it's up to Ausha if he wants to come and visit us, but he's more than welcome to." He gave his chosen partner a hopeful smile. Mchele would welcome him lovingly, but Kizuka might have different feelings... perhaps it would be best to ask her first, but he couldn't very well say no to 'Kota right here in front of Ausha.
Fortunatly Bakhti seemed to have grown quiet over her questioning of telling the cubs anything. t was a relief to Mchele. He wanted to have them a bit older so that they'd understand better. Even now he thought many adult lions wouldn't get it. Perhaps younger lions would be more understanding? And then there was still his father to tell... which he might leave to his mother. Mchele was very nervous of what the old male would think of it.
"Ahh ah!" Kilua yelped as her moment's distraction by Ausha's stripes led her to be toppled over by her boisterous brother. She pushed at him with her hind paws and patted at his face with her front ones - trying to make him let go of her ear. "Eiiee! I need that too!" She cried back, but it was all in fun. Neither were seriously trying to hurt the other. 'Kota just liked to show his strength, she guessed. And she.. well she just liked to play with him.
She grappled him and pushed so that she rolled them both over, tugging her ear free and looking up at the adults. Keeping her paws on 'Kota, she tried to keep him pinned down but the slightly bigger cub probably wouldn't stay subdued like that for very long.
"Beauty? Mum says we're beautiful! Heehee and I like my stripes. I think they're pretty. Mum has them too. So we all must be beautiful!"

'Kota stayed pined at least fr the moment, he knew he was bigger but he would never hurt either of his sisters he adored them both and considered himself their protector. Looking up form his pinned possition he looked betwee n Ausha his father and grandmother with a raised brow. He couldn't think of anything to ask, for the first time ever since he learned to yammer he felt, stumped.
Of course, stumped never lasted too long when there were things to chew and he soon nudged his sister off of himself and curled around her to groom her head as he waited. Turning his gaze on Ausha he grinned as he said a word he had learned recently "Can he be uncle Ausha daddy?" he blinked innocently he had heard a story about an evil uncle but Ausha didn't look evil, plus he was white and black which was all good in his books, he wanted a reletive whom was white and black.
The cub grinned and went back to grooming his sister then cleanign up her ears where he had chewed and giving a quite loud toothy little yawn. "I'm tired" he mumbled, it was a long way back the way they had come.
