Red_Run BSH33 Red_Run BSH33 Michigan Metal all the way. V8 's and nothing smaller. i don't even like straight or slant 6's. if it doesn't have eight cylinders and can't do 250+ km i don't want it. and no plastic and fiber glass dinky toys. by that i mean ricers. and always 350+ horsepower no lower. so what if its a gas guzzler at least i'll have fun. and nos is for weaklings who can't do it on their own. a little full of yourself dont you think. Oh and what about V8's that are nitrus cars. Im a technology guy. Give me boosted car any day fuel maps, timing curves, sq boost controlers those do it for me far from full of myself. i just know the way i like my cars. as for V8's with nitros, its like i said it doesn't count if its not under your own engine power. as for the technology part, no offense to you but the more technology involved the more it does the work. its not a true testiment to your abillity or skill as a driver it just says " i sit back and let the car drive me'. thats not the way its suppose to be. autopilot...psh. and with something electronic that means less moving parts, less wear. You get yourself a full set of guages: egt, boost/vaccum, water temp, oil temp, oil pressure and youll be way more aware of whats going on with your car. oh yeah your drving and you are going to know your oil temp just by touchign the dash omg my car overheated becuase i have a stock guage talk2hand . but oh well if you want to stay in the stone age of carbs thats okay but you can get such a better tune on a fuel injected car anda full set of acurate gauges. A friend of mine had a eighty something mustang with a carb 350, he put on a fuel injection and got it tuned, baseline he pulled a extra 20 hp and after it got tuned 30 AND he got a little mpg out of it. Have you ever seen someone dyno tuning a car now that is something you need to see. not the old get a screw driver and turn a screw then say "Oh I just tuned it" you don't need a whole crap load of gauges in your car. all you need is a fuel gauge, a tackometer, and a spedometer. thats it. and carbs are far from stone age. they are tried and true. and as for the carb "stang with an extra 30. big deal. you take a carb and attach a super charger with a blower. your going to get a hell of a lot more then 30 extra. try 100+. and if you got an old muscle car with a holly double pumper or a six pack under the hood your laughing. exspecialy at the fuel injected cars. and once again with the dyno you can no longer be acredited for building and tuning your car, the computer did the work and it no longer becomes an accomplishment. you can't take pride in something you didn't do. i will always be proud of the cars i build because i can truely say I built them not some computer.

I wasnt reffering to a force fed engine oh no s**t you put a s/c on a motor you are gonna get more power BUT i was reffering to a all motor application. ok you put a blower on what ever car and you are untuned you run the risk of leaning out blowing up your motor and not running at the engines full potential so whats the point if your such a "purist" with a hole in your piston? you say you cant be accredited in building the car if you get it dyno tuned? wtf are you smoking you built the damn thing now you need ot get it running at 100% s**t whats wrong with that? i dont know but it sounds like you know about engine management and you have a dyno in your garage so you can do it all yourself. your reasoning is so damn twisted and outdated get over yourself man even the pros use engine management and dynos

Red you are seriously the most arrogant S.O.B i have ever talked to. there was not a problem in this discussion till you came along. you were the first to insult people and then their methods of working on cars. this was a perfectly good disscusion and you had to be a f***ing a**. you have an attitude problem and need to fix it. and believe if we were face to face i'd adjust it for you. but your a waste of time and effort. so from this point on i request you do not say a word to me or in regards to my posts and i shall do the same to you. i have no time for dicks. once again i have to apologize to everyone else, i am truely sorry it came to this and if i get thrown out of the guild i would like to say it was nice to meet MOST of you, lowrider and angel you guys are great. so sorry for this.

Well, I must admit, I can't stand the design on the new cars. But I love old cars.
I also enjoy doing the work on my cars myself. I take good care of her, yes I do, I really does! I have so many things I want to get done before summer ends!

Yeah, well, I haven't really named her, she's just The Champagne Bommer. I know a lot of people that refer to cars as her.

Big or Small Block V8s are the only way to go for all out performance. You know the old sayings "There is No Replacement for Displacement." and "Horsepower sells the cars, but its Torque that wins the race."

It just lays out all kinds of torque.

Now that you mention it, they do have a different look to them.

BSH33 LowriderGT I agree with BSH33. I like to have a feal of metal conection between steering wheel and a wheels, not some copper wire computer drive system. Rather have a carburator then direct, manual then auto. And all electrics in my car would be perfect if i could adjust 'em with hammer. now your talkin. feel everything inside and out of the car with your own senses. not get told whts happening by a computer. thats what driving is all about. its like the phrase " just you and the open road" not " you, the open road, and the computer driving your car for you" I agree with you both 100%. Personally, I think it's more fun that way.

personally, I like both...
let me explain... I've driven in and ridden in some pretty nice older cars and really love the rumble of a good V8...
however, my parents own Prius'... and I have to say that those things are quite fun to drive. They're incredibly comfortable, and can go up a hill quicker than anything, thanks in part to having to motors to power it up... they're very quick off the line, and accelerate smoothly.
both are nice for different reasons.
