"Neither boy nor girl..." Youko nodded, looking to the ghost. He'd been afraid of that, and now it was confirmed. "Both," he said, remembering Yashima when he was trying to explain. "Patrick and I thought it might be something like that. But since I don't feel like calling her an 'it', I stuck with 'her' for now. I'm glad I took Patrick's advice and gave her a name that isn't gender-specific."
Looking back, things now made a LOT more sense. He'd definitely have to talk to them both.
Shavri, meanwhile, was now starting to get restless. Where she'd been happily in Kay's arms, she was now pulling her wand free and darting back over to Youko, bouncing happily.
"I think she wants to head home," he said, snickering and taking hold of the wand. "And she seems VERY happy with whatever you two were talking about."

Coailiann nodded her head then, "I hope I cheered her up, she was sad because of Yashi," she smiled a little bit then picked a flower from the soft grass, handing it over to the kitsune.
"She said she'd only come when Yashi stopped crying. So yes, you should work on it..."
The little girl flopped back onto the grass, "You come back, right?"

"Right," Youko said, smiling and taking the flower from the girl. He leaned in then, nuzzling her cheek and giving off a soft purr. It was the same greeting and parting that he used with his own children, and it was just habit by now. "And thank you for all your help."
The ghost seemed to wave then, and Kay heard the infant in her mind again. Thank you! She let out a soft squeal then, giggling when Youko lifted her up and tucked the wand into his pocket.

"You're welcome!" she answered, smiling as she was nuzzled and purred at. There was something soothing about that. Different than the greeting than her own father gave her.
"Any time." She said, both inside her mind and without for Youko and Shavri's benefit. It was then that she pulled herself up and ran inside. Time to practice her harp!
