I think my favorite book in the AB series is definately Obsidian Butterfly. I adore all of the series, but I liked how Obsidian Butterfly revolved more around the plot line and not steamy sex scenes. I also enjoyed how much the book focused on Edward, giving you teasing little peeks into his past and glimpses at the real Edward. Olaf was a fascinating character, and I'm waiting to see him pop up again sometime later in the AB series. I'm quite fond of Bernardo, too--he was so slimy it was sweet.

I would have to go with Guilty Pleasures due to the fact that it was the first book and it was also the book that got me addicted to the Anita Blake series 3nodding

I like Obsidian Butterfly. It was the most fun to read, and it had the coolest characters. For once, I actually liked a master vampire in a book.

My second favorite is The Laughing Corpse, just because it's the bloodiest, and Anita isn't over-powerful yet.

Narniakat
Please explain what your favorite book is and why.

Well, since I'm a big JC fan, I voted for the Killing Dance. And yeah, it was because of the great sex scene going on between JC and Anita in the bathtub. sweatdrop Now, I don't want anyone thinking that I'm a pervert and that that is the only reason why I read the LKH books, cuz it's not. I just liked that book. But if I picked a book for the plot, most definitely Obsidian Butterfly. Guilty Pleasures, Laughing Corpse, Circus of the Damned, Bloody Bones, Burnt Offerings all are pretty much my other faves. Haven't gotten to read Cerulean Sins and beyond, but I'm planning on to! Didn't like Narcissus in Chains much. Richard pissed the living hell outta me. And Micah was pretty cool. I just liked the fact that JC had grown his hair longer and that Nathaniel is just so awesome!!!

Narcissus in Chains. Its when you first meet Micha, right? I like Micha. And I like Anita being with both Micha and Jean-Claude. I dunno. i just thought it had a good plot and storyline.

I'm reading Cerulian Sins again to prepare for the next one. But I think The Killing Dance is my favorite. But I like to read them all over and over all the time. I think Obsiden Butterfly is my least favorite though stressed

I too love to read them over and over. Each time I do, I find something new that I didn't pay attention to before.

well since Im such an Edward fan, I have to say Obsidian Butterfly is my favorite. It's the first (and only so far) time we really see who edward is and I love it heart

However, we also find out Van Cleef, and I sware, if I don't find out who he is soon, im going to lose my mind!!!

Well I would pick either Guilty Pleasures or the Laughing Corpse. They are the books that got me interested in the whole series. I forget which one exactly it was as I don't always read books in order. sweatdrop Anyways whichever one it was I wouldn't have read any of the other books if it hadn't been for the start.

Obsidian Butterfly. Hands down.
Not ONLY was it the first book in the series that I read, but I fudging love Edward. The storyline in that book was brilliant!

Obsidian Butterfly by far. It's all about Edward! Lol. I'm not really sure, but the overall story in this book blew me away.

Bloody Bones is my favorite. I mean it doesn't have Edward in it.. But it has faeries. I loved that damn fae in it! He was so funny. Well him fighting with everyone was. Not to mention that was when Anita first began to actually like Jean-Claude. The tension was glorius. And her sweet little fights with Jason. He's such a good puppy.

Next to that would have to be Obsidian Butterful. Edward is damn sexy. And that one had like no major sex in it, all action baby. It was horrifying and bloody. I love bloody. It was great. Edward needs to play a bigger part in all the books.

Guilty Pleasures was good. I liked that one a lot too since it made me cry so much. It was a wonderful opening to the world of Anita Blake.

Narcisus in Chains would be on the top of my list if they cut the sex and went more to the weres being cut up. Also if Micah died. I hate him. Hate him with a passion. I like it because the leopards are in it... But yeah that was really about it. The ending was good except Micah should DIE.

Lets see... I'm not even on my favorites anymore I'm going onto a Rant. Anywhom order of books...

1. Bloody Bones.
2. Obsidian Butterfly
3. Guilty Pleasures
4. Burnt Offerings
5. Blue Moon
6. The Killing Dance
7. The Laughing Corpse
8. Circus of the Damned
9. Narcisuss in Chains
10. Lunatic Cafe
11. Cerulain Sins

Pretty sure that is all the books.. Woo yeah. Enough rambling.

Burnt Offerings and Obsidian Butterfly. Gotta love Edward, and the Anita/Jean-Ckaude thing...

I read Obsidian Butterfly a long time after I read all the other books though, but it was worth the wait...I also really enjoyed reading Narcissus in Chains, which I think I read in about a day...

I love the parts in many of the books where you see just how powerful Anita really is. There are so many times that her power takes my breath away and it makes me gasp and go OMG!!!

Examples:

When she raises the whole cemetery in the Laughing Corpse and uses the zombies to kill the bad guys.

When she activates the Lupanar in Blue Moon and it takes out 200 vamps.

When she kills Mr. Oliver, who is ancient and oh so powerful.

When you realize that she has a vampire servant, which is unheard of.

There are loads of other times, but these are some of my favs.

I'd have to say that my favorite AB book was Blue Moon. It's kind of hard for me to explain why ( sweatdrop ), but I just loved it the most hehe 3nodding

Maybe it's just me, but I didn't really like Obsidian Butterfly. I think it didn't have enough of the sexual stuff that she was used to putting in the books (yeah, yeah...I know a lot of you don't like the sexual stuff much sweatdrop ), but yeah...It was a good book, yes...and Edward was cool and all, but I just think it should have had more sexual stuff eek
