Whenever we have our last concert of the year, we're all emotional losing the seniors.

And when I was in honor choir, our teacher told us to enjoy life and how she almost lost it. We were so emotional that day, and our songs came out beautifully because we talked about how precious life was.

On a very happy note, my show choir was extremely emotional when we won Best Overall and 1st in our division in a competition for the state of California a couple of years ago. We have never screamed louder or felt so much pride. We worked for days on end and it paid off.

Hmmm...theres two.... My friend Ami (we meet on GAIA) Said because she was having parent trust problems and such she need to quit GAIA. We RELAIE on each other, if one would DIE the other would DIE. The next day was Sunday and it came time for CHurch, my sisters and I always go to the chior loft and stuff, about five minutes later the song started, I bursted into tears and couldn't see the page numebers less then sing. Luckily, later she desided as long as she didn't constantly go on GAIA she could stay. YAY!

When I was in fifth grrade, mabye forth (1-3 years ago><) We sung the song 'Blowing in the Wind.' for chorise. One version is by 'Peter, Pual, and Mary' which when I was younger my aunt would play 'Puff The Magic Dragon' every Sunday at Pappap's house when Mummum was still alive. 'Puff' was also by them so it made me remeber. My Mummum had cancer but she still went on mile-or-more bike rides, did pasaki every Easter season with us, and potery all year long. She died September 8th, 2002 (4 years ago...)

I'd like the memorie of me
to be a happy one
I'd like to leave an after glow
of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo
wispering softly down the ways,
of happy times and laughing
times and bright sunny days.

I'd like the tears of those who
grieve, to dry before the sun
Of happy momies that I leave
When life is done.

That was what was writen on the card thingi... I remember me turning it into a song at the funeral home.... isn't amazing that tear (like ear) is spelled the same as tear (air or hair) ?

My most emotional moment....is from junior high....

our choir sucked at sightreading.....and i mean SUCKED.....

but we practiced and practiced......before we went to Contest...

our teacher had us evaluate my Mr. Richardson (Chairman of music at Del Mar colege) and he said from the begining of the year we had tremendously improved to the point of getting a 1 on sightreading.

We went.....and they gave us a four....the main thing i remember is my teacher crying.....but she was happy.....

she said

"I am crying because I am so happy. You all have made me proud to call you my teacher. I give you a one. I bet if they knew how hard and how much you have done to improve and make it this far they would have givven you a one."

I loved my teacher then and always will...she was the person that got me into singing and coming out of my shell.....

she died recently....what was good about it was that she had a last request. That the choir was to sing "The Stars Are With The Voyager" at her funeral, her favorite song in SATB. We did and sang our way to tears.

What is funny is that the music i have to learn for District, Region, Area, and state competition, the men have to sing that song in TTBB...so i am reminded of my teacher whenever i practice and im glad for it

While graduation is always an emotional moment for anyone in musical arts, I'd have to say my Chorus' defining moment was when we were crowned NATIONAL CHORUS CHAMPIONS. We went to go compete at Nationals in Georgia and we won every single award in our division. We were sooo proud! Nothing can replace the overwhelming sense of accomplishment that I felt that day. heart

Was that just during the last school year? I was there for band if it was the Heritage Festival one... I totally remember a choir getting like every award. Our band got every award for our class!... Also as far as emotional moments. Someone from our school died and I sang You Raise Me Up to the school while playing piano. Everyone was in tears by the end, and a bunch of people got up and said things about him. It was really sad, even though I didn't know the kid.

its always graduation. but my sadest was graduation 2 years ago. my best friend, who was graduation, conducted the choir in the absence of the teacher. (his son was graduating same day, different school)

i think the most emotional moment for me in choir. was the last perfomace the first year i was in choir. cuz it was the first year with a new teacher and he made it a great year. everyone in my choir was crying. also it was very emotional during the second year with this choir teacher and he played the song we were going to sing at our 8th grade graduation and the song that the 8th graders (who were in choir) sang the year before us. i dont think there was a dry eye left in that room. EVERYONE (including the teacher) was crying their heads off. crying

it's not the sadest moment but it's definately the most emotional. last year when my choir won a state wide competiton. and we didn't expect to wim at all. cuz there were some amazing choirs. but the seniors that year completely deserved it. and that day our director was sick. so the win was even sweeter. and all the senoirs were balling and we all were just sooo happy and we're gonna do it again this year! back to back!! but the last concert is always sad to.

Probably the most depressing thing that has ever happened to me in choir is when I moved up to the senior high school, and at the end of last school year our choir teacher was seriously thinking of getting out of the school system. He said he didn't see a point in doing it anymore if he wasn't teaching us. Our girls and boys class hours are divided. Imagine a room of teenage girls crying because we didn't get to be west symphonic anymore because we were going to the next school. It was really depressing. Then we all watched our music conference tape where we kicked a** and cried some more about it because we worked so hard that year to build to that being one of our brightest moments and now we're seperate. Crying and hugging and more crying. Even Mr. Johnson cried a little. I don't think there was a dry eye there by the end of class seriously.

That was a really nice thing for you to do..

Our saddest choir moment was at our broadway revue last year. It was the last concert of the year and it was Mrs. E's last year of teaching before she moved away. At the end of the concert we all stood up and clapped and the senoirs brought her this huuge bouquet and stuff. After that when we were leaving we all got in line to hug her and say goodbye..it made me sad ;_;

I don't go to a school choir, rather a city choir, but the saddest point in my nine years was saying good bye to these two girls called Carol and Sam on our choir, either that or watching our conductor go on to school to teach Music Ed. We sang Carol and Sams fav. Song and we all cried. It was so cool, so emotional.

Note: Names changed because they don't want them mentioned. XD

Hi, I'm new here ^^

My most saddest moment would have to be was this one wednesday morning back in October when we were supposed to have a practice like ever wed. morning. There were notes on ever door in the school saying there was an emergency staff meeing and that all band and choir students were to go to the theatre where they told us that our beloved choral teacher had been killed the night before. But I was very happy to know that our small chorus the "vocal ensemble" had the last concert with her the night before that (monday).

A week later a few of us went to the Alberta Youth Honours Choir and we were asked to sing one of her favorite songs and we had the rest of the AYC sing backup behind us. That was what hurt the most but I am glad we did that.

Sorry, I didn't mean to ramble on and make people upset

For me, it wasn't a choir moment, but for some it was. It was on the final night of my 6th grade school play of CINDERELLA. It was our choir and vocal music teacher's last year since she was retiring, and there was an emotional gift giving and farewell for her. Made alot of people cry. smile

I have two moments, both dealing with my college choir.

The first was at the end of my sophomore year. We had learned that our director would be retiring at the end of the year. He still has an impact on my life to this day and I wish I could have sang under him longer. The second time was almost a year ago when my choir went on tour out to Los Angeles. Unfortunately, I had to leave early to help another group of mine. But, the last concert I sang in was very special to me because I would never sing with the choir on tour again.

Our signature piece was an arrangement of "Precious Lord" written especially for our choir. I don't know how much of the song I completed each time, but I know it was less than half before I was bawling.
