Was she nuts..?

Apparently she was. Until now, she hadn't questioned the Leaf's so called 'activity', but suddenly it hit her. What the ******** was this leaf?
She had gotten it from Lena, and Lena wouldn't give her anything dangerous, but still. How come all the books she had looked in didn't have anything on a leaf like this?
So, she was crazy. Leaves couldn't wiggle, and they certainly couldn't project emotions. Did they even have emotions? She wasn't sure.
What if it became some kind of killer plant?
The Leaf gave off a disgruntled air.
But then again, she could worry about killer plants when the time came. And as long as no one knew she was crazy, well...

The leaf starts to wiggle even more as you look at it this time. You can feel the emotion of happiness swapping over to you and a faint glow grows around the plant. What's going on ?

Hoshit.. What's happening?!

She had been sitting in the living room, watching TV when it had happened.
Kat was sitting in the sofa, yawning and cursing whoever designed the program for today's Tv, when suddenly a happy feeling suddenly wrapped itself Kat. Only problem was that the feeling was not her own. Having grown somewhat accustomed to feeling the Leaf's feelings, she automatically looked over at it to ask what it was.
And stopped.
It was glowing. Glowing! A soft, happy and satisfied glow, as if it had been waiting for this to happen.
Wiggling a bit to get Kat out of her stupor, it seemed to get happier.
"What are you DOING?!"
But the leaf ignored the girl's suddenly hostile tone, and continued wiggling and glowing.

What in the world was going on?

As Kat moved closer the glow became more intensive and covered everything inside the room. The leaf wiggled more and more until it vanished inside the bright light.

It just lasted for a few seconds until it disappeared out of sudden. In front of Kat's feet sat a little girl, holding a branch tightly. Her curious eyes looked up to the woman with happiness.

Aww, she's so cute! <3

This was new.
As Kat had been looking at the leaf wiggling, becomeing more and more irritated, it had begun glowing even more, and suddenly vanished.
Instead, Kat was left back, dumbfounded, and staring at the place her precious leaf had last been. At least, until the undiscovered toddler on the floor decided to make herself known.
"*gurgle*"
"Huh?" Kat looked down.
"*happy gurgle*"
"Aw, s**t." And promptly fainted.

The woman was definitely weird. She had only been trying to get her new Mama's attention, and suddenly *WHAM*. Down went Mama.
Well, she could always try to get her attention again, couldn't she?
"*gurgle*"
"*GURGLE*"
"*scream*"

Kat awakened to the sound of a child screaming.
This had better not be the neighbors kids again, was her first thought. The second was, Hey, none of Ann's kids have pink hair!
The toddler sitting on the floor seemed to brighten up, now that her Mama had woken up.
"Mam!" she happily gurgled, and stretched her little arms towards Kat.
"Mam!"
What did she want? And then, Kat remembered. Lena had said that the Leaves were special. Perhaps this was what was so special about the Leaves? They spawned pink-haired toddlers?
Seeing the little one demanding to be picked up, Kat complied.
"Well, you'll need a name, first and foremost. What about Kathy? No? I didn't think so either. Yuri? No, certainly not." They eventually settled on Shouko, and though Kat had a hard time realizing it, the girl was hers.

It was going to be a rough experience..

The very first word!

Luckily, she had a double-bed. When Shouko had first came from the leaf, she hadn't been sure what to do. But after talking with Lena, she had found out that Shouko was indeed her precious leaf.
Well, at least she didn't need to worry about the leaf growing up to become an enormous plant.
Back to the bed. Kat had decided, after some persuasion from Shouko (aKa wailing), that Shouko shouldn't sleep alone.
(They had gone on a shopping spree yesterday, after meeting with Lena and Tyyne, and bought everything a young girl could want.)

Kat was sleeping peacefully, dreaming of pink leaves step-dancing, when she was forcefully awakened by the young pink haired girl, jumping (clumsily, yes, but jumping none-the-less) on her stomach.
"Uff. What are you doing Shouko?" Kat groggily asked, brushing her hair out of her face.
"Tyy! Tyy!" Shouko flailed her arms about.
"Ehwhat? Not now Shouko, Tyy's probably sleeping anyway." Burying her face in her pillow, Kat hoped the young girl would fall asleep again.
"TYY!"
"NO! It's 3 AM, honey, we're not..." She trailed off, gaping.
"You said 'Tyy'! Your very first word!" Wide-awake, Kat squealed.
"Oh sweetie, I'm so proud of you." Taking Shouko into her arms, Kat kissed her on the nose.
Wrestling herself away from the woman, Shouko pointed at the door and resolutely said "Tyy!".

Main Thread RP

Lena
Lena carried a young blonde child with her as she unlocked the door to the Eden Project shop. She looked around and stepped inside carefully, while the girl just stared at the new surroundings. "We'll come here more often in future, Tyyne." The mother said to her newborn one and smiled.

She had called Kat this morning to inform her about the latest development of 'the leaf'. Her friend must have had the same experience, because she seemed so excited.

Anon
Coming to a halt in front of the Eden shop, Kat looked at it.
Seeing that the door was unlocked, Kat assumed that Lena was alredy there.
"Okay honey, you need to be brave for Mama, mmkay?"
The obviously shy child had stayed snuggled in her mother's arms, hiding her face.
"That's a girl,"
Kat opened the door and stepped inside.

Lena
"Kat !" Lena turned around as she heard the other woman and smiled. It was almost a bit amusing as they were both holding the toddlers in the same way. "Oh she's beautiful. Extremely !"

Tyyne seemed a bit scared by her mother's behaviour, but her golden eyes looked at the other toddler with interest. She didn't move though.

Anon
"Lena, thank god it was you. Yes, she is, isn't she?" Kat smiled down at the girl in her arms. Noticing the young one in Lena's arms, she asked "Is this Tyyne? She's such a sweetie!"

Shouko was staring at her mama. Never before had she acted like this, perhaps it had something to do with the other woman?
Shouko stole a glance at Lena, noticing the other girl. Though shy of nature, she couldn't help but be a bit curious about the other one.

Lena
"Yes, say hello Tyyne." Lena smiled. "This has to be Shouko then. It just occured this morning as Nalini and Jessila wanted to play with the plant again. They're happy about a new sibling though." She slowly moved towards the couch and moved one hand trough Tyyne's blonde hair.

"Tyyne seems to be very shy though. How's Shouko like ?" The young woman sat down and placed the toddler onto the pillows. Her bright golden eyes showed some fear and uncertainty.

Anon
Kat sat down next to Lena.
"Oh, I can imagine their surprise. I had quite a shock myself." She laughed, looking at Shouko.

"Shy, too. Perhaps it's their age?" Kat furrowed her eyebrows, while absently putting Shouko down next to Tyyne.
"This is Tyyne, honey. She's an Eden like you," Kat smiled at Shouko, who was clinging to her arm, "nothing to be afraid of."

Lena
"Well, Nalini and Jessila were more than active at this age. Tyyne's very different." The young woman added and smiled at her new daughter and the other Eden. "That's right Tyyne, you'll probably become friends."

The blonde girl was wearing a blue dress, which seemed to be perfect to suit her nervousness. She played around with it and just stared at the pink one, which seemed to have a nice dress too. Tyyne just blinked several times and didn't make a single sound.

Anon
"Nalini and Jessila is always active. They all are. Different, that is." Kat half-smiled at Lena.

Shouko noticed the other child looking at her kimono, and with a happy gurgle, tried to offer the seam of it to her.

Lena
"That's right. Lini and Jess are always like this." Lena grinned and looked at the babies. "I found three more leaves the other day. They're inside the greenhouse right now and I hope they're alright there. We need to find more people, who could care about them. Who knows what may happen otherwise ?"

Tyyne moved just a tiny bit closer and poked the seam of the kimono. It had flowers and that was nice. She wanted to have something like this too, definately. She responded with a nice look and looked back at her own blue dress.

Anon
"See? We honestly have no basis for comparision." Kat laughed, looking at the two young Edens. "They seem to be getting along well, though. I really do hope the other three will be as happy once we find them a good home."

Shouko noticed that the other one was warming up to her. Gurgling happily, as it seemed that was the only thing she was able to do at the moment, she noticed that the other also wore a strange kind of kimono. It didn't have flowers, though, but a very nice colour. Poking the girl on the tummy, Shouko giggled. This was fun!

Lena

Lena sighed and nodded. "Some responsible people who aren't scared of leaves were good. I'll probably set up an announcement for the newspaper or so."

Tyyne was scared as she was touched by the other one for a moment or two. She listened to Shouko's giggles and frowned slightly. But she smiled anyway, although she didn't poke back. Instead she moved one of her blue shoes closer to the other one.

Anon
Kat looked at Lena again. "Don't worry about the newspaper, I'll take care of that." She frowned, "We do have a lot of good candidates. I hope they won't let us down." She shook her head, "It'd be horrible for the Edens to be moved from those they consider their parents."

Not getting the wanted reaction, Shouko frowned slightly. She had smiled, sure. But didn't she think it was fun? Oh well, she moved her foot closer anyway. That had to be improvement.
Gurgling again, Shouko gave a wide smile to the other one. She had so much pretty hair!

Lena
Lena just nodded. "Alright then. I just wonder from where they are actually coming, these leaves. They're so special. It's a miracle somehow."

Tyyne looked at Shouko's wooden shoes and than back to her own ones. Her shoes had just one colour, but they were comfortable. While she examined the other one and smiled again, Tyyne noticed something in Shouko's hair. It looked like a pink flower. The blonde one made a sound and pointed at the pretty thingy.

Anon
"Yes, it is. I really can't thank you enough for giving me one of them, I.. My Shouko, you know?" Kat smiled, half-crying. Sniffing, she said, "Sorry about that, I'm just so happy, you know?"

Finally getting a positive reaction out of the blond-haired, Shouko made another happy gurgle. Noticing the other one pointing at her head, she held out some of her pink hair.

Lena
Lena smiled and hugged her friend slightly. "It's alright. You know, it's great to have someone else to share experiences with. Ray is away so often and so it's wonderful for Tyyne to have someone to play with. I hope you come over soon for a cup of tea."

Tyyne instead moved closer carefully and touched the pink hair gently. It felt just like her own one, but it was shorter. She blinked and nodded, which made her pony-tail move.

Anon
"It is. Where is Ray, anyway?" Hugging Lena back, Kat said, "And I'll be sure to come over for a bit of tea. Mind if I bring Shouko? I really don't know anyone who can babysit, and I don't want to leave her with some stranger."

Gurgling again to show her happiness, Shouko let the other girl touch her hair. It felt really nice, too.
Noticing the beautiful hair again, she made a move as to touch it. It was too pretty to resist.. And long, too.

Lena
"Transylvania." Lena sighed and rolled her eyes. "You know he's trying to find the solution against his disease, but I miss him a lot. He's missing all of the baby fun." She blinked and went on talking. "You know, of course you may come. My children will love to babysit. Jessila and Nalini love new playmates. I could probably invite all of the new parents, if we have decided on some."

Tyyne shivered slightly as she was touched and closer her eyes. Hopefully the other one wouldn't hurt her. Hopefully...

Anon
"He is. Though it would be wonderful to have him well. They would? How are they handling Tyyne, by the way?" Kat blinked, "Yes, inviting the 'new ones' would be good. It would give us a chance to answer any questions they might have, too."

Seeing the other girl's closed eyes, Shouko became unsure. Making a distressed sound to ask if the blonde was okay, she touched the other ones cheek, as gently as she could.

Lena
"Yes, I really wish for him to be normal once. Oh Nalini and Jessila try to play with her, make her ride on pets and so on. But she's not so interested at this makes them depressed somehow. They were more looking for a smaller slave." Lena grinned slightly.

As her cheek was touched Tyyne made a surprised sound and grabbed the small hand quickly. She opened her eyes and was astonished as nothing bad happened. And suddenly the blonde one started to giggle.

Anon
"A smaller slave, eh? Oh, I hope they don't try that with Shouko." Kat tried to smother a giggle, imagining Nalini and Jessila trying to command Shouko and Tyyne.

Yelping when the blonde took her hand, Shouko blinked when she started to giggle. But somehow, she couldn't resist the temptation, and started giggling with the other one.

Lena
Lena stared at the babies, who just started to laugh. "It seems they like each other already."

Being relieved that the other one seemed to be nice, Tyyne started to tug on Shouko's bow. She didn't have such accessories, so she wanted to free her new friend from the bond of having some.

Anon
"So it seems." Grinning like a maniac, Kat looked at Shouko and her new friend.

Did she want her bow? Shouko took the end of her bow, and yet again tried to offer it to Tyyne. (It was really pretty, but made it hard to crawl.)

Lena
"We need to go again in a few minutes though. I promised Nalini and Jessila to play with them and bring back Tyyne quickly." Lena mentioned as she got up.

Tyyne instead pulled the bow slightly and frowned. She needed to get it off. It had to be heavy...much too heavy.

Anon
"Oh, right." Looking slightly disappointed, Kat rose. "Well, it was nice talking to you again, and meeting Tyyne."

Shouko looked at the girl. What was she trying to do?

Lena
"Yes, just call me if you want to come over for tea. I'm home most of the time." Lena added as he lifted Tyyne up, who started to cry at once. "It's alright Tyyne, you can see her next time again." The young mother sighed and shook her head. "Sorry for just coming over so shortly, it was nice though." While trying to comfort her baby, she left the shop.

Anon
Looking at the door, Kat sighed. It really was too bad that Lena had to leave so soon.

Shouko sniffled. Why had her new friend gone away? She was soon picked up by her mother, who was making ready to leave.

A Letter from Em
Dear Shouko and Kat,
I have picked a flower for two,
a flower to stand for the beauty
of the newborn Eden.
With love and care, take it kindly,
remember it always, as a sign of
peace, love, and growth. Be
careful with the thorns you two!

With Love,
Em.

You look in the bag...

You look in the bag left behind,
and guess what you find? A
rose of beauty! User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Lenta

PostPosted: Sun Apr 10, 2005 11:49 am

Lenta pranced up to Kat's front door, a rather large box under one arm. Several holes were poked in the top, the gigantic bow on top looked as if it had been singed, and the corners had been chewed through. Len didn't seem to notice. Her brow furrowed; she was on a mission, and would not be deterred! However, once she had placed herself on the doorstep, she realized something was wrong.

Very wrong.

She forgot the note!

With a sad whine, Lenta jammed her hands into her pockets, frantically searching for anything she could use to write on. Or with. Damn, she didn't even have a pen! Talk about unprepared...! With a huffy sigh, she picked up the package and flounced off.

Three hours laterrrrr....

She was back! With the note! Placing the package on the doorstep, she grinned, a triumphant tune playing in her head. Len placed the note (slightly battered, due to the present's affinity for eating anything that looked edible) on top of the box, then turned, dashing off with a laugh.

The note read...

Well, one more to the loony bin!

"We're getting popular, eh Shou? First Em, and now Lenta." The young woman smiled at the toddler sitting on the table, watching her mother make dinner.
Smiling back, the young child started swinging her legs and giggling at the little pink and white dragon, who was stumbling around on the kitchen floor.
"Yu!"
"Yes honey, Yu." Deftly walking over the dragon the woman put the dinner in the oven. Pushing a few buttons, she turned around to look at her daughter and Yu.
"Man, am I happy you missed the fluid period. It would have been a mess trying to feed you babyfood." Making a face, the woman turned back to the oven, not noticing her child's wide-eyed stare.
"Mam?"
"Yeah?"
"Be Ty?" The question itself was innocent enough, but the young woman felt irritated anyway.
"Honey, you've been asking that all day. Yes, we're going to see Tyyne, but only when we've finished eating. You can wait that long, can't you?" Not waiting for an answer, she picked up Yu (who had been gnawing on her pants) and put her next to Shouko, having noticed that the dragon in question didn't try to eat her clothes.
"As soon as we've finished eating.."

Weirdish...

Mama was sleeping. She had been exhausted yesterday after being with all those people. Honestly, this was what Shouko had always been trying to tell her. People were bad. Why didn't the grown-ups ever listen? Stupid, they were.
Oh well, Mama's new friend had given her a gift, though she'd left it outside so she hadn't been able to get it. Luckily, Yu had found a way out of the house, and was able to bring in the poor doll. What had Mama's friend been thinking, leaving Yume out there for all to steal?!
It didn't matter anyway, Yu had saved Yume, and all was well with the world from the view of the young Eden.
Deciding that Mama wasn't going to wake at the moment, Shouko began playing with Yu and Yume. After much Saving-Princess-From-Evil-Dragon, Shouko finally became hungry. Now, Ma was asleep and Yu'd already tried waking her up, so. They had to find another way.
Getting up on her small chubby legs, Shouko staggered her way into the kitchen, amidst worried pips from Yu, and the heavy snoring from Ma's room. As soon as she got the hang of it, walking, or stumbling rather, wasn't such a big thing. It was the counter that presented a problem.
Grabbing the hanks, Shouko tried to hoist herself up. Jumping up and down as only small children can, she quickly found out that this was not the way up. Well, only one option now.

Kat was awakened by a long scream, immediately scrambling out of bed and automatically searching for Shouko with her eyes. When not seeing the young girl, Kat had a enlightenment.
Running into the kitchen, the first thing she noticed was the young child standing next to the counter, screaming her lungs out.
"Honey, what's wrong?!" Worried and frazzled, Kat asked the most obvious question that came to mind.
"Food!"
"What?"
"Food!!"
Smiling tiredly, Kat fetched some breakfeast for the young one. God, she hoped this'd never repeat itself.

Dear Anon
I was out looking for a pet for Teagan today and I spotted these little ones. The second I saw this little girl my mind screamed Shouko, so I hope you don't mind, but I got it for her.
Maybe later on she can try to train it with her cousin Teagan?

Lots of love,

Whatever was going on...?

Mama had been acting weird. After meeting with Auntie Ul (Ma had told her to call her that - personally Shou didn't know her all that well, but Ma liked her, so she had to be good.), Aunt Lena and Tyyne, Ma had been acting weird. She had been acting weird lately, but this..
Shouko giggled, thinking of all the times Mama had walked into closed doors since yesterday. She sounded so funny when she did that, said a lot of weird words that Shouko didn't know. When she had asked Mama, she had looked all red and said that it wasn't 'Something for small ears', which Shou found weird since Mama didn't have all that big ears either.
But Shouko figured that whatever it was that made Ma act weird it didn't have anything to do with her. And besides, even if Mama told her, she probably wouldn't understand. Grown-ups were so weird..
What really worried her was Tyyne. Her friend had been so determined to get her bow all the other times they'd met, and now she didn't want it?
The adults had been surprised too, she knew it by the way they had stared at the blonde when she had refused the bow.
Furrowing her brow, Shouko contemplated (as much as a toddler can contemplate anything) if Tyy was sick. Perhaps, but she hadn't acted that way. It was still a possibility, and deserved to be considered, but Shouko had never been a very patient person, and this newfound possibility was not something she was pleased about. So, in the manner of children everywhere (and when), she put aside the idea in favour of something more pleasing.
The fact that Tyy had said something to her.
She had noticed that her friend didn't talk much, and was pleased that she had said something to her. It clearly stated that Shouko was special. At least, that was Shouko's interpretation of it. Perhaps she could coax her friend into saying her name next time they met? Which reminded her that she had to tell Ma that she wanted to see Tyyne again.
Smiling happily, her problems forgotten for now, Shouko tried to decide how to best make it known to Ma what it was she wanted.

((I suck at portraying her thoughts, I know. But I might as well get used to it since a lot of the entries are going to be in her perspective from now on. This was just to introduce you a bit better to her way of thinking, and her personality, since I recently became aware that I had neglected her personality for quite some time. At the moment she's a toddler, and her moods are very fickle. She'll be happy one minute, and sad the other. I tried conveying that by making her absent (in a kind) and quickly forgetting her problems and thoughts. This'll change as she get older, a child, and probably come back to a certain extent when she becomes a teenager. Sorry for the long note.))

Tyyne sucked her thumb as she leaned against her mother's chest. Her golden eyes stared at the small package, which was a birthday gift for Shouko's mother. She was still happy about herself choosing it.

Lena placed a small giftbox in front of Kat's door and smiled very pleased. Tyyne had insisted on buying these dolls, because they reminded her of Shouko. Kat could use them as room decoration or probably give it to Shouko as a toy.

The giftbox contained the following :
