Binatica Arch overestimated the degree to which the blown sand would impair Tinanitico's senses; she'd been through worse, and survived through worse. Moreover, he'd vastly underestimated her preparedness; she'd rushed him to draw out his counterattack, not to attack him herself. She had even been holding her weapon in the zone he was most likely to attack in as she charged. And her intuition was right on the mark. As the blade whips toward her hip, she turns the hammer to place the shaft in the path of Arch's blade and manages to get her other hand on the shaft so that the blade will strike between her hands just in the nick of time.
The fact still remains, however, that she'd been running. It had been all she could do to position her hands in time; she had had no time to position her feet properly as well and thus is unable to completely block the weighty blade. She isn't cut, and the hammer shaft is barely scratched, but she's sent stumbling away from Arch. Not much of a problem, however, as she should recover before he can get another hit in with either blade of that huge sword, especially as she's now out of his immediate range and he now has to move in to strike her again. * Because of the way she blocked his strike, Arch's spin was abruptly halted. As soon as Arch falt the impact of Tinnantico's block, Arch pressed frward with his right leg, reversed his spin. Arch drove the opposite end of his zanbato high towards Tinnantico's side with a swift, blunt strike with the low end of the Honor of Fury's shaft*

Even though she's still recovering her footing, Tinanitico is able to block Arch's strike without much trouble, taking her left hand off the hammer so that she can absorb the hit with her left forearm, before moving her arm up in an attempt to grab the shaft of the weapon with her glowing left hand. At the same time, she swings the hammer, now held only by her right hand, up toward Arch's left shoulder, the head of the hammer beginning to shine the same shade of yellow as the glowing handle extension.

*As soon as Tinnatico grabbed the shaft of the "Honor of Fury", Arch's left hand released its grip around the shaft, thin pale yellow sparks arcing across where his hand had been for a split second, and flew out to his left side where he struck Tinantico's wrist with the back of his wrist, holding back the strike. Arch's arm shook a little bit from the strain of holding it back, and it took a significant amount of concentration as he held the arm steady, his fingers held in the familiar "knifehand" position for what seemed an enternity, despite the amnuever being executed all within a the frame of a few split seconds. Due to Arch's mastery over manipulating one's chi, it took him a mere split second to refocus and gather his chi energy into his arm, instantly causing his hand to beceome engulfed in pale yellowish white flames that rolled across his hand and tapered down his forearm. In an almost effortless motion, he pressed forward against the impact site of their wrists, using the overwhelming power of his focused chi to forcing his opponnent's arm far out to her right, and then in a lighteningly fast motion, came back, and chambered his fist at arm level, his hand assuming the "dragon's palm" fist where the back of the hand was perpendicular to the arm, and the fingers were held forward extended, slightly curved as if grasping a sphere. Brilliant yellowish white sparks arced across his fingertips, and the air around his fingers sizzled as his entire arm erupted in violent flames that ran the length of his arm down to his elbow. In a blindingly fast blur of motion, Arch fired his cocked arm towards Binatica's exposed chest like a rocket, without even waiting for his customary attack announcement. *
pah.... Shinmei school secret technique "Dragon's fang fist"
*Arch spurted out, his voice showing a few traces of fatigue. Arch held his stance with his left hand extended, and his right chambered at his waist. By the staggering way he responded, he'd forced a great deal of his life energy into the attack. He'd be fine in a matter of seconds, but this was the price of using one's life energies as a weapon. With the power of the dragon's fang fist would easily have pierced her flesh like blades, the violent energies bathing his fingers and hand making them as solid as rock. The energies surrounding his fingertips would have cut not only the flesh, but only into Tinantico's own chi, searing the spirit while piercing the flesh in a single attack. Even If for some reason It had not pierced her flesh, even an indirect hit would have sent her reeling backwards no matter her strength. Arch closed his eyes and slowed his breathing as he concentrated to bring his spirit back into alignment, and refocus his chi though direct attacks wouldn't be possible for a short while, the shinmei school's practitioner's ability to perform combat meditation, meant they could refocus themselves and deal with fatigue, even while still in the midst of combat. *

As Arch blocks her hammer strike, Tinanitico shifts her stance very slightly; as Arch blows her right arm away with his chi, she swivels her body with it and fluidly brings her left knee up into his stomach, still gripping the shaft of the "Honor of Fury" the whole time. At the same time, even as her arm flies out wide, the energy extension on the hammer's shaft grows in length until it stops in front of her chest, perfectly ready to block some of the power of the Shinmei-ryuu ougi Dragon Fang Fist if Arch still managed to pull it off with the knee in his stomach. It wouldn't block it completely, but it would break up the attack and decrease its power and focus by a large amount.

It wouldn't block it completely, but it would break up the attack and decrease its power and focus by a large amount. *Arch's attention wa focused on his strike, so he was completely off guard for Tinantico's strike. The strike was already in the air by the time her knee would connect with his chest. Arch's energy-bathed hand easily pierced through Tinantico's energy barrier, ripping through the energy field like tissue paper, however the lethal striking power of the technque was eroded due to the energy field stripping away most of the energy surrounding his fist, and her counterstrike disrupting his focus to some extent. The attack would still connect with enough force to crumple his opponnent since she mde no effort to block it physically, but the energy field and counter would take off the lethal edge and effects of the technique.
As soon as Arch connected, he fell back a four steps as we tried to regain his breath and balance. Though the knee strike didn't do any real lasting damage because of Tinantico's position, it was enough to knock the wind out of him for a few seconds, and disrupt his meditation, leaving him a little vulnerable as he swaggered back into a stance. Arch's left hand instincively flew across his waist to the golden dragon-shaped pommel of the petalchaser at his waist while his right leg swung out behind him into an Iaido stance. Even as Arch's eyes locked themselves on his opponnent, one could tell by his breathing and body motions that he had resumed attempting the "battle meditation" technique to realign his body and mind.*

Even as she's pushed backward by Arch's attack, she retains her grip on the "Honor of Fury", grasping it tightly with her glowing left hand. Likewise, she keeps her grip on the hammer, and though her right arm's been tossed about she's still okay. But because she was blown backwards while holding Arch's weapon, Arch has a choice - either he can release the weapon, or he will have to absorb her momentum to keep his weapon but at the same time lose any advantage time he might otherwise gain on her (as he would be unbalanced just as long as she would if he keeps his grip on the weapon). Whether Arch keeps his hold on the "Honor of Fury" or not, Tinanitico begins a silent chant, her lips moving far too fast for Arch to decipher her words.

Arch had already released his grip on the HJonor of Fury's shaft before he had even completed his strike, so he didn't suffer any adverse effects. By the time Tinnantico had begun her chant, Arch had already assumed his Iaido stance, and recovered at least for the most part, from the use of his technique, and Tinnantico's counter. Arch took the precious few seconds he had to complete his battle meditation. After reconsolidating his life energies, he was ready for yet another attack. Arch held his Iaido stance, but slowly began inching towards his opponnent until he was just within eight feet of her. Arch then hunkered down further into a morfe solid Iaido stance with hiseyes locked onto her, scanning everythign about her manner from her breathign to her footwork, and then closed his eyes in concentration. Anyone especially attuned to spiritual energy might have felt him manipulating his energies once again in preparation. *
time to end this..... * He spoke resolutely as he reopened his tumultuos crimson eyes, allowing the brilliant flames to lick thier way out of his sockets again, indication that his chi had completely recovered. *

As Tinanitico climbs to her feet, using the Honor of Fury like an ordinary pole or stick to aid her, the stolen weapon begins to glow yellow. Her chant continues, her energies surging within her, with both her chant and her power balance alternating between two distinct rhythms.

*Arch's concentration broke as he realized his opponnent attempted to wield the weapon. If he hadn't been fighting him, Arch might have warned the girl about attempting to wield a Shinmei Ryu pratitioners(Sp?) weapon. Arch remembered back to the warning Kalvain Havex made when he constructed the weapon. Each of the many gemstones lining the shaft of the weapon carried a diffrent enchanted imbuement(Sp?) As The girl grasped the polearm, one of the ebony blak gemstones towards the center lit up and turned pale white. Energy from the weapon flowed into the girl's body through his hands, physically manifesting itself as white ghostly tendrils wrapping around his hands and flowing up aross his body. They weren't harmful, but the energy tendrils swept forth searching his body for any innocent blood that it may have shed. This was the test of truth, If the Neko was pure, and had never killed an innocent, or in cold blood, then the weapon might except him, if not, another gem lining the shaft would light up, sending forth another pulse of energy (( both are similar to the weapon's own life force as the weapon is somewhat "alive )) that would shut down the girl's organs as it swept out over his body. Even if the full lethal effect wouldn't work for some reason (( insert some way you've got to deal with if that happens )) at the very least, it would temporarily drain the girl's body of its chi , creating the onset of overwhelming fatigue, and the inability to focus or really do anyhting for until he recovered. No matter how strong a person's punches where, if their chi didn't go with it, it'd most likely bounce off of a focused oppponnent.
Arch's tightened his grip upon the hilt of the Petalchaser ever so slightly, wiaitng for the opening the "Honor of Fury"s defenses would create.*

Tinanitico smiles with delight as she feels the weapon's intrinsic magics activating, for they matter little...as she raises the weapon above her head, her slower chant finishes. Even as she now devotes all her chanting time to the second rhythm, there's a flash of lightning, which hits the glowing polearm with a sudden burst of power.
The "Honor of Fury" is instantly destroyed, its gemstones and lifeforce dissolving as the raw materials are annihilated, the magic itself being extracted and unfocused and diluted into raw power, combining with the potent spell to coalesce into a large ball of mana and energy.
Still grasping the hammer in her right hand, Tinanitico now keeps the ball of energy in her left hand, and an aura flares up around her as the ball shrinks to the size of a basketball, and a "ceiling" of energy appears ten feet above her head and stretching all the way across the arena - now neither one of them can move more than ten feet upwards.

As she continued her chanting seemingly unphased or unconcerned by the surges of energy that searched through her chi, her life force for hints of attacking an innocent, she'd unexpectedly tripped the "Honor of Fury's" safeguards. Tinnantico had tried to strike down an innocent, and now it was all over. Arch didn't have to do anything at all, she'd sealed her own fate. While Tinnantico was summoning the enchantment, the energies felt her intention to strike down the base, elemental creature residing within the "Honor of Fury", and had a reason to strike eve though it had not completed its search. A glittering ebony gem encrusted into the weapon's shaft lit up with an earie dark light, and a number of odd translucent black tendrils of energy instantly struck out through her arms up into her body, using the hand she held it in as a connection, and swiftly coursed through her body. Normally, the beasital prescence would have simply drained a part of her chi would have left her alive though injured and fatigued, but in its rush of self preservation, it instead destroyed her very life force as the energy coursed though out her body. After all, a dead body cant regain its chi, let alone be brought backThe black tendrils of enrgy sweeping across her body annihilated her very life energy like soap through grease, shreding her life force apart, and leaving her limp husk of a body drained of its life force. She would have been dead before her lightening strike had even landed. The strike still fell, striking the Honor of Fury's shaft before splashing harmlessly around the outside of the shaft, and down into Tinnantico's body. As it Struck, the angry spirit of the Poilearm seemed to cry out in fury, more than pain. Its wrath already roused by the foolish woman's attempt, the roused spirit of the blade was so agitated that anyone especially attuned to spiritual energies would have noticed an odd animalistic aura forming around the Honor of Fury. The bolt had done nothing than tick it off, but as its opponnent had already been ousted, It woudl simply have to take her blood as penance

Unfortunately for the "Honor of Fury", Tinanitico did not underestimate anything, nor would it affect anything either way. As a magic expert, she had no trouble defocusing and dispersing the magical energies before and as they were released, effortlessly tearing apart the enchantments on the weapon with dangerous precision. Innocence and guilt mean little to her, and in any case such a thing could not possibly threaten her, for the weapon's owner was most certainly less pure than she. The weapon's countermagic, with an antimagic spell already in preparation progress and targeting it, does not have the time to activate before Tinanitico's spell completes and finishes. As such, the weapon was destroyed, with no effect to her.
A rune appears in the "ceiling" above her, and another identical one at her feet, while four runes in a + shape appear on her back (though not visible, for she is wearing a shirt).

Clash Alright, in favor of not holding this up any longer, here's the dealio. The weapon vs. Binatica's efforts are just going to cancel each other out. Your weapon's trap has been triggered, failed to kill her, but her destruction spell (with the whole thunderbolt and stuff or whatever) has been disrupted. Both attempts are nulled, the weapon's attempt to kill her and her attempt to destroy it, and it continues normally with her just holding the weapon. Whatever happens from there, happens. This is my decision in order to keep both combatants happy, or as happy as I can, and it's the final decision. Do what you deal with that. tch..... * Arch slipped back down into his Iaido stance As Tinantico summoned the runes. With his usual well-practiced coolness, Arch closed his eyes resolutely, and then began cycling through a sequence of signs with his left hand with the speed and prescision of the most diligently trained monks. Arch completed the short chain of hand signs, and then began subtlely channeled a portion of his chi into the sheathe of the Petalchaser, bathing the blade in his chi until a strange aura seemed to form around his person. The very air around him began to tremble as a cruel grin stretched across Arch's face. Arch thumbed out the first four inches of the Petalchaser, revealing the first few inches of the flawless blade. A blindingly bright white light spilled forth from the blade, easily outshining the very sun until the entire arena became engulfed in blinding white light. After a few seconds, the light wavered, and when Arch resheathed his blade, the remnants of the runes where being swept up into the air, as if they were made of nothing more than mere dust that was carried off by the wind, sweeping away the runes and dispelling any enchantments or effects bound to them in technique *
tch....

As the runes break down and dissipate, the "Honor of Fury" in Tinanitico's left hand glows. She had failed to break it down, but the yellow aura around her left arm now shines brighter than ever. Before the weapon's defenses attempt to activate again, she tosses the weapon straight up into the air while cutting it off from her presence by retreating her influence from it...right before the energies gathered in her left arm arc up from her hand to the weapon - joining a new lightning bolt which comes down to meet it. The two energies collide, and once again begin to break down the weapon.
With the insights gained from the first attempt, and the weapon unable to counterattack her, and the increased power used in this attempt, she can't fail. The "Honor of Fury" is surrounded and hidden within a glowing yellow ball twenty feet in the air as Tinanitico's attacks begin to decay and scatter the magical energies sealed within the gems and the weapon itself while at the same time forcefully pulling their physical manifestations apart at a microscopic level, first working their way straight through the thinnest areas to the center of the weapon while dulling the blades beyond any hope of use, then afterward working their way through the weapon dissolving it from the outside in and inside out at the same time.
As the magical power in the ball fluctuates wildly, it begins to glow very brightly, almost blindingly bright; though whether this is part of the process or a helpful addition is unknown. Tinanitico, still clutching the hammer in her right hand, begins to slowly rise above the ground, hovering. As she awaits Arch's next move, she is about five feet above the ground; Arch should still be able to see her, but not well because of the proximity of the shining ball.

As she awaits Arch's next move, she is about five feet above the ground; Arch should still be able to see her, but not well because of the proximity of the shining ball. *As the lightening bolt arces down towards the crimson polearm, an undeniably overwhelming, almost primal prescense fills the air, accompanied by an unearthly roar which shakes the entire colliseum to its very foundation. Suddenly, the roused spirit of the Honor of fury appears to manifest itself as an eerie translucent dragon surrounded by vile green flames, wrapped around the shaft of the Honor of Fury like a snake. The long gem-lined streak of gold that wrapped around she shaft of the polearm had now been replaced by the ehtereal form of this ancient dragon. Though only quasi visible to even those exceptionally sensitive to the spiritual forces, The "Honor of Fury's " spirit could be instantly felt from just about anywhere within the arena. Even from the spirit planes, the energy spilled forth onto the plane of the living, and could be felt almost as heavilly, even though it had technically not crossed over into the "real" world. This was why it could be felt, but not seen.
As the spell shot down towards the Honor of fury, the air around the spirit and weapon began to waver and become more and more distorted. The bolt struck aproximately a foot above where it would have struck the draogn's head, and then broke apart, and flowed around a tight sphere around the two, as a river's water around a stone. A malevolent crimson flames erupted out of the dragon's eyes, spilling forth from its merciless guise as the yellowish ball of energy shone brighter and brighter until it swelled to a blinding flare-like brilliance. Then the sphere detonated with a tremendous eruption of Tinantico's own energy, and whipped out back towards her in an immemnse backlash of energy, as if all the pure mana used in the spell had been concentrated ten fold, and sent back to her. The pure magnitude of the blinding explosion would send its original caster reeling back hard to the ground if it didn't incenerate her entirely.
Just after the last residual effects ofthe blinding light had begun to dissipate, the Honor of Fury could be seen laying blade-end up at a slight angle towards the sky, its spear end stuck in the ground it had fallen to harmlessly. For a few seconds afterward, the glowing ruby eyes of the dragon's head at the top of the gem-lined gold streak glowed malevolently before slowly lulling down back into silence.
If Tinantico was extreemly fast at recovering from the blinding flash from the backlash, she might have noticed that Arch was nowhere within her line of sight, and that there where a series of divets in the sand about six feet apart, in a straight line right for where she would have landed, and that there was one large one aproximately ten feet away from her that was the closest of them all.
