Very sensitive to others' reactions, Aaron noticed immediately when Rashne tensed, and withdrew his hand as if it had touched flame. He had a horrible moment of shame, thinking Rashne was recoiling from *him*, but then it seemed to be about something else, in Ra's past. He startled when his cigarette burned down to his fingers. He hadn't been paying attention to it. Dropping it, he tucked his knees and put his arms around them, giving Ra more space.
"Mughal is Persian, maybe your parents would even go for it, if they found out." He decided not to mention the scarring. It sounded like something awfully personal for a second meeting. He wondered if he'd be able to keep his cool, painting some intricate pattern on Ra's thigh. Maybe if he drugged himself.
"No, no tattoos. I don't have any problem with pain or needles," shooting up between your toes, you can't have a problem with needles. "I've just never trusted some big, sweaty biker looking guy near enough to me. I'd like to get one here. Something Japanese looking."

"My parents?" He smirked wryly, his minor freak out forgotten. "They're pretty strict, religiously. I mean they wouldn't disown me, but I'd be in for a few wonderful lectures from my father." Ra gave a small snort of laughter. "Heh, eighteen and still letting them boss me around."
At his next comment Ra laughed a little, though more out of nerves at the thought of a scary tattoo parlour. "I didn't think about the sweaty biker thing." He said picking up his cigarette packet and putting it in his bag. "Though it should be better here, in Japan I mean. I heard they see it as more of an art form. That would be a relly cool reminder of Japan." He thought for a few moments more. "You know, I might talk to my archery sensei, she has a killer Japanese one on her arm. Maybe she know a good non sweaty biker place."
This was good, something else to focus on that didn't involve pills, schoolwork, Chii or psychos. "I was thinking of going to grab some lunch. Want to join me?" He asked brightly he had skipped breakfast again and was actually hungry for once.

Aaron let his hair fall forward so that Ra wouldn't see him grin and bite his lip. He allowed himself a moment of childish elation before smoothing his face into mild interest. Ra would think something was up if he didn't answer here in a second. He shook back his hair and said, "Sounds good. Are we allowed to go off campus?"
Standing, he offered a hand down to Ra. "They have good sushi at the cafeteria, but I miss going out."

Ra took his had and stood. Resisting the urge to put his bandaged hand on the floor to help him. "Sure we're allowed off campus." He said grabbing his bag and swinging it onto his shoulder. "At least I assume we are, we always go."
Again he paused and looked towards the campus gates. "I know a good chinese place, but if you fancy sushi I'm sure there are plenty of Japanese places around. Obviously." He smirked and started to walk to the main path. He was glad Aaron had suggested off campus, he didn't fancy running into any of Izumi's idiots in the canteen.

"I figured you got the cigarettes off campus, as I didn't see any for sale in the student store." Aaron winked.
Strolling next to Ra, he didn't have to pay attention to where he was going. The aura of walking with an established student also made him relax around the gaggles of other students they passed. He put his hands in the pockets of his black leather pants and practically walked on the balls of his feet, he felt so light. The ruffles on his poet's shirt fluttered in the breeze.
"Let's go somewhere you like, since you know your way around. I enjoy most good foods. I went to a Persian restaurant in San Francisco, Maykadeh or something, and loved it. Just don't take me to a MacDonalds."

Ra smirked, yup it was dead easy to get cigarettes off campus. The girl in the store had been too scared of the fact that he was tall and foreign to even think about asking for ID.
"Damn." He laughed at the suggestion of Macdonalds. "There's my grand plan out the window." He decided to just head to a random restaurant, nothing like trying something new. "I'm glad you liked Persian food. I miss it, I can cook, but can never be bothered."
Grinning he ducked under the norin of a smaller restaurant and gestured to the wrinkled old lady who came running to greet him. "I love these old restaurants." He said sliding his shoes off and stepping up to the tatami seating. "What would you say is your favourite food?"

"Is there even a student kitchen?" Aaron asked. He had never made so much as a PBJ in his life, but he liked the idea of watching Ra cook.
Aaron took a moment to unlace his victorian style ankle boots. I'll have to remember to wear shoes with a zipper next time. Following Ra's lead, he went over to the low table and knelt on the tatami. He'd taken Kendo for a while at home and knew how to kneel at least. "Actually, I think sushi *is* my favorite kind of food. I could eat it every day. You?"

Ra blinked and raised an eyebrow. "I thought all the shared rooms had a kitchen." He said watching Aaron unlace his interesting boots.
With a small shrug he picked op the menu and opened it sideways on the table so they could both see it. "My grandmother's cooking." He said, flushing slightly. It was a bit of a childish thing to admit as your favourite food. "Other than that, I'll eat anything. Not sure if I have a favourite."
Smiling he looked down at the menu. There were no pictures and a lot of unreadable kanji. "How's your Japanese?" He asked looking down at it. "I mean, I love studying languages, but Japanese takes a lot of concentration. Not something I've had lately." He paused thinking for a moment. "I could ask what she reccomends."

oops, forgot about the shared kitchenettes... "Oh yeah," Aaron said sheepishly. "They're kind of small though. The school seemed like it might have some fancy getup, or a culinary school to go with the mini medschool."
Leaning over the table, he looked at the menu Ra held out. He knew some kanji; he'd worked hard to learn some basic japanese before moving. The menu was too much though. "I can't read it." He said, mouth twitching because he wanted to giggle but wouldn't let himself. "Let's just point at two things and be surprised by what we get."

"I think they have a cookery club, but nope that's all we have. Probably because they want us to spend money in the canteen." He smirked and flipped his hair out of his eye so he could see properly.
"Well, I think this character looks cool." He sait pointing to a couple of pretty looking words. "So I'm going to go with that. Though it'll probably be a bowl of fish heads or something crazy like that." He laughed a little at the thought of what they were going to end up with, "Your turn." He said as the old lady came over, giving them a slightly suspicious look.

Aaron grinned, which only made her look more suspicious. He said in decent japanese, as it was a phrase he knew, "I'll have this one please." and pointed to a string of kanji halfway down the page that looked appealing to him.
She asked him something, but he couldn't make it out, so he just said, "Yes." She nodded at both of them and shuffled off with a pointed expression.
Aaron leaned back and looked around for an ashtray, and seeing none, decided you couldn't smoke in the restaurant. Or maybe that wasn't how things worked here. Maybe you couldn't smoke in any restaurants. He decided not to chance it.
He pulled out the card that Makito had dropped and put it on the table between them. "Do you remember this at all? You seemed pretty wigged out after Izumi cut you, I doubt you saw his little friend drop this."

Ra smirked as the woman walked off with a confused look on her face. This was going to be interesting.
With a frown he took hold of the card and looked at it. "I don't remember him dropping it." Ra said in agreement. "Though I had another run in with him. In the cafeteria. It seems this Izumi guy is making lists of people this one guy has slept with. One of my female friends is on it, and he's upset another guy i know but I'm not sure why."
He paused and looked up at Aaron thoughtfully. "He's nasty. Not quite as psycho as his friend but he got into a threat war with Montecelli sensei. Not a teacher I'd want to mess with. He didn't seem to fussed by it though."
Ra stared down at the card. "Do you think there is anything we can do? To stop them I mean?"

Aaron hadn't come up with any solid plans yet, but he'd been brooding.
"Well, I'm assuming if the little p***k passes out his dad's business card every time Izumi cuts someone, that this doctor won't be surprised or angry to find out what his son is up to, so blackmailing Makito isn't an option.
"I don't have any very reasonable ideas. But I was serious when I said my parents know Ya..the mob" he opted for the English word so as not to attract attention in the restaurant, "but only in legal dealings they have with Dad's pharmaceuticals company. Do you think...well, I actually get a lot of money for my allowance. I wonder if we could hire someone to find out about Makito's dad for us. Or to..." Aaron was uncomfortable with how it sounded said aloud, so harsh. "Well, tell him to get Makito and his friends off our back." He rubbed the back of his head. "It's a pretty farfetched idea. Maybe you could come up with something better."

Ra looked up at Aaron, suddenly thinking that for all his traveling and experiences he had lead a pretty sheltered life. Everything that Aaron said took him back to the canteen. He bit his lip thoughtfully as the woman brought over their random dishes.
"You know, in the canteen the other day." He bagan, pulling the odd looking rice and sashimi dish towards him. "Ms Montecelli threatened him. She said if he touched any of us again she'd 'grind him into the ground.'" He frowned and picked up some wooden chopsticks. "Then she said something quietly about Izumi not being as connected as she is, so maybe we wouldn't need to pay anyone."
Ra had no ideas, short of getting as many people on their backs as possible. Smiling her brushed his hair out of his eyes againa nd broke the chopsticks apart. "I'm afraid my mother's influential but only in a diplomatic sense. And as they are Japanese, getting them deported isn't an option."
Shaking his head at the almost impossibility of the situation he looked down at his dish. "What did you get?" He asked peering over at Aarons.

If Izumi was already trading threats with teachers, then threatening him back might not be the way to go, but what else could they do? Perhaps they could put pressure on the Izumi and Makito some other way?
Aaron's plate had what looked like two fat pancakes on it, with a garnish of azalea blossoms on the side of the plate. He decided to just pick one up with his hands and take a bite. The inside was filled with sweet azuki paste. He laughed, finishing his bite.
"I got dessert. Whoops. What did you get?"
