Takeko instantly brightened at this suggestion. "Yes, that's a good idea! Our Mellons! I'm sure they would have better luck finding him than we would. Probably quicker too." Turning towards the window, the angel beckoned to her Mellon, hovering nearby. "I suppose two Mellons would half the search time, dear..." Takeko smiled weakly at Aspen, finally feeling hopeful about the situation for the first time.

Aspen whistled and then waited, his mellon didn't appear. Actually he hadn't seen his since he grew to adult. "I think mine is lost..." He frowned to Takeko, "Maybe yours won't need help?" He shrugged hoping she wasn't mad.

Takeko frowned slightly at this revelation. That was certainly strange! Mellons didn't just disappear...did they? Now that she thought about it, she realized that she didn't really know where the Mellons went when they weren't fluttering around with their Pae.
She shook off this thought so she could answer, "Maybe. We can only hope." She reached up, her Mellon fluttering over to rest on her hand. "And you are our hope, dear. Think you can find this Blake boy?" There was a tiny nod of accent, and Takeko smiled. "Good. I'd like you to give him a message. Tell him that Mei Lien's parents, Aspen and Takeko, would like to speak to him. If he will come, please lead him here." Another quick nod and a wave of relief washed over the angelic Pae. Everything would be okay...it had to be. "Thank you."
There was a tiny nod, then the Mellon zipped up and out the window.
Saffron blinked in surprise as the tiny Mellon whizzed past his ear. He hadn't gone far yet; he'd paused outside the door to weigh his options. He didn't really want to go looking for his sister, but he didn't want to stay here either. And he WAS curious about what she might be getting into. He hadn't had a chance to explore much of the outside world yet, and the curiosity of a teen was difficult to smother.

Aspen stood next to the window with his wife, "Do you think your mellon will find him?" He reallly did hope so. He also hoped Mei LIen was safe and would come hom soon. He missed her and wanted to set everything straight.

Takeko stared out the window, even after her Mellon had disappeared over the trees in the distance. Slipping her hand into Aspen's, she shook her head slightly. "I honestly don't know...but I have to believe so." She had to. It was the only hope she had left that she might be able to reconsile with her estranged daughter.

"Have faith." Aspen wrapped his arms around her and kissed the top if her head. "Mei Lien won't stay away forever. Hopefully Blake will know where to find her."

Blake walked along the riverside following a tiny blue Mellon. It had told him that Mei Lien's parents wanted to see him and that alone made him worried. Did he do something wrong? Was he too forward or anything? It was probably about her running off to see him. He was soooooo dead, he thought to himself but wearing a face that showed exactly what he was thinking. Or what if Mei Lien was hurt and they thought he did it? The horriffic possibilities seemed endless at this point. But leaving would be ungentlemanly also they'd probably hate him even more. But he tried to pull himself together. Maybe they just felt like meeting him! He WAS pretty awesome, he thought. Finally he arrived at the house and nervously knocked on the door. Quickly he turned to his Mellon, Adameus, that was resting on his shoulder. "If they kill me, make sure you take care of my teddy bear collection." The Mellon saluted and Blake stood at the door waiting for his certain death.

Aspen heard the door and smiled at Takeko, "Maybe your mellon already found him."
Aspen moved to the front door and then propped it open. He reconginzed Blake, although he had grown since last they met. "Good afternoon, Blake. Please come in." Aspen looked a little out the door and didn't see Mei Lien with him, which made Aspen a bit sad.

Blake sighed a sigh of relief. As long as he wasn't greeted with swords pointed at his neck he felt a little safer. He bowed lightly and made his way in. "Thank you very much, sir." He looked around the house and smiled lightly. Pretty. He thought to himself. In the corner he saw another pae'll with purple hair. Something about her was familiar even though he had never met her. Could that've been Mei Lien's mom? First things first. He had to find out what they wanted from him. But he was too nervous to talk.

So this is Blake, Takeko thought to herself. He seemed like a nice enough boy so far, and he had responded quickly to their invitation. She wanted to blurt out 'Where is my daughter?' but she knew better than that. Pleasantries first.
"Could I get you something to drink, Blake? It is rather warm out today." She began moving towards the cabinet to grab a glass.
Heh, forget leaving; this could be fun in itself. Saffron pushed the door open, reentering the house boldly. "I'll take something, mom. Thanks." He calmly walked over, plopping down comfortably on a chair by the table in the center of the room. He wondered what sort of effect his reappearance would have. This could prove to be entertaining afterall.

Blake bowed his head slightly and smiled. "Just water please, Ma'am." She wasn't being scary either. But he had to be careful cause any stupid mistake could result in his butt being seriously kicked. He looked over his shoulder and noticed another Pae'll walk in. Must've been Mei Lien's brother or something.

If Takeko was surprised by Saffron's reappearance, she hid it well. She set out four glasses with ice and a large pitcher of cold water on a tray quietly, then looked for something she could serve for a snack.
Saffron leaned back, propping his feet up on the table and eying Blake appraisingly. "So," he spoke after a moment of awkward silence. "You're the guy my sister decided to up and run off with, eh?"

Blake took a glass of water and smiled. "Thank you." He took a sip and looked over at Saffron. After what Blake heard he nearly choke on his water. He put the glass down and looked at his feet. "I didn't know she was going to run away. I thought she was going to ask her dad."

Saffron smirked, shrugging. "I meant in general, but sure. And obviously, she didn't." He chuckled, grabbing a glass for himself and taking a drink.
Takeko returned, bearing a platter covered with home-baked cookies. "Now, what are we all talking about in here?" She smiled, unaware of her son's earlier comment. "Just make yourself at home, Blake," she said quietly, trying to put the nervous boy at ease.

Blake took another sip of water and puted to himself. This guy was being a super creep. How could Mei Lien be related to him? Guess she got all the nice he thought. "Yeah..." He shrugged and took another sip before sitting down with Takeko's permission. "Nothing much, Ma'am" He nervously sipped at the water again and stared at the cookies. The smell made his tummy grumble loudly. "Eeep."
