This is on the back pages, but I just wanted to bring it up to say I'm going to try to work on this, and in fact anything else that could improve the guild, bring in more members, ect. If anyone has any other good ideas, please let me know

Joshua_Ritter Combining would stifle creativity... but staying apart would create ignorance of developed solutions.... ^ ^ well then. I propose a coalition of paranormal guilds, to spread all our knowledge together. ^ ^ sweet... hm, thats a good idea, listen to him! coalitions are fun ^ ^

ahh yes.... an idealistic thought of combinding all psionic/paranormal guilds into one very good in theory... but it won't work... everyone will want theirs to be the guild we use. The undoing will start there. Everone will agree to make a new guild. who will pay for it? All the current leaders will want to. The one who pays for it gets the most power in the guild. More conflict. We will agree to make a mule who will own it. The mule's information will be given to the ex-leaders. If we are lucky enough to last his long, when we are enlisting rest of the crew there will tun out to be mor from one guild than an other. This will anger someone. If some how we can survive this long hidden hatreds will start to emerge between several members. They will want to have oneanother removed. This will start causing other guilds to be created, if that hasen't already started. Of course if we survive the first 7 months then we will be ok... untill a leader leaves gaia... then he or she will be replaced by a new one... with new ideas... If the other leaders do not like the new ideas then ........ you fill in the rest I'm tired of typing this... it will fail ok I've seen many many many organisations follow one of these paths that I have explained. some sets were actual paranormal related.
Short story: good idea, won't work...

hmm.
don't say anything won't work unless it's tried. Thats how they got off with saying cold fusion was impossible.
I personally think it is a great idea to co-work, it would be advisable to create some sort of link on each main page encouraging the people who visited to join all of the other guilds in the partnership as well, that way the partnership is mutual, and no one can be blamed if general incompetence of one malicious opposer causes mass chaos.
the linkage between the guilds is advisable, if this is for education and the bettering of ourselves.

General Stank oie, I think we should pass our idea's over to LoBo then have him(if he likes it) contact the other guilds to see about this I shall pass it on to Lobo, but he is often busy with misterious guildfuhrer things, and I may end up extending the invitations to other guilds myself. Do you think front page link, or would you guys actually look at guilds posted in a thread?

Joshua_Ritter Oh, yes, almost forgot... anyone have any similar guilds they think MPRILC would benefit from interacting with? I have religious guilds in my repetoire... a few pagan guilds, none magic specific. There is also an occult research guild... Other than that all I can really suggest is mine, the Coalition for Understanding Litanies and Theories, which is a religious tolerance and research guild, but I think we could benefit from including occult too, and this was part of one of our original objectives.... It's up to you guys, whatever you want to do. 3nodding Joshua_Ritter I shall pass it on to Lobo, but he is often busy with misterious guildfuhrer things, and I may end up extending the invitations to other guilds myself. Do you think front page link, or would you guys actually look at guilds posted in a thread? In my guild's affiliate thread....well, i don't think anyone goes there. If you want to affiliate yourself with other guilds you really have to do a front page link. My suggestion would be to create a thread in the guild forum (not the registered guild forum though, i think) and Have that be the location of the actual coalition. I have this beautiful picture in my head on what it would be like, but no idea if people actually want to hear it.... Because i get rather organizy...

A single link to a guild thread actually sounds attractive, and to have links to all the guilds from there... what did you have in mind?

I was thinking of the opening post being an explaination of how it got founded and what its mission is (a coalition of all guild of this kind as a way to be the ultimate resource to anyone needing information, or whatever else.) Then the second post would be the list of all guild associated with the coalition and a short description of their areas of expertise, etc. general rules for the exchange would follow (probably agreed upon by most of the guild captains involved in the begining stages). There could be more, but this is the basics of what would have to be laid down in something of this nature in order to make it work. It may face some special challenges, but i definately think that the coalition thread should border somewhere between a general chat and a place to ask questions of people from all types of backgrounds, and then maybe to be directed to places with more information.
But it would have to remain open from the beginging that there could never be a guild for this, and that it is just a coalition of guilds. Because if we create a coalition guild, we are just adding to the problem, aren't we?
Oh, and we'd have to have snazzy graphics (probably relatively small-ish) for guilds to post on their homepage, and for people's signatures. Because snazzy graphics are t3h awesome.

Snazzy graphics are teh awesome. And I agree, if we conjoin the guilds too closely, it will only cause problems. But as for the thread, I really like the idea, and I will pose it to Lobo next time I talk to him
