darkrock64 staves is plural for staff as in a staff like the ones wizzards and sorcerers use They worked for Gandalf... To each his own. I think they're pretty silly, outside of fantasy books and stability for elderly people.

I think they're pretty silly, outside of fantasy books and stability for elderly people. they also pack a punch in spells tat repel negative energy from ur body 3nodding also seems to work on spirits staves are also of the fire element the only fire spells i would use would be for courage

The only one I ever had was for Shrove Tuesday when I was Malefic.
Like I said before, I don't have any special tools, I make due with what I have. Staves, like wands and such things are centering points for your own energy. I don't need a staff to get courage, I don't really lack it, I just take a deep breath and go ahead with it.
I never had any problems with spirits and I don't see why using a staff would be any different (to me, that is) than using any other thing that just happens to be around. You can take any plain thing and give it a grand name, but in the end it's just a peice of wood. I'm not saying tools (when dealing with magic, not gardening or painting) aren't helpful, I'm just saying they aren't essential.

well right now im kinda under ground so my stuff has to be very small and easily hideable. my altar is a shoebox with a black clothe over it, my athame in a foil cutter for winebottles, my wand is the last root of my tree before it was ripped up, my challice is a small tumbler bottle of holy water and i have a three inch plastic halloween pentacle as my peyton.

xd Congrats, hehe.
You don't actually "need" tools though. As far as I understand, back in history those who practiced went purely by visualisation. I guess that in "modern times" we need something... material, I suppose.
I blame instant gratification.

Well I'm still on the process of making my wand. The base (this is gonna sound wierd) is this really beautiful wooden chopstick I bought sweatdrop It's thin and delecate and just really suits my liking 3nodding I'm planning on attaching some crystals in some way xp I also have some shells to represent water a red candle to represent fire the wand for air and a mortor full of salt for earth. I also have this beautiful Jade Nephrite stone my uncle gave to me before he died. I love it heart Basically my alter is in full view of my parents who would kill me if they knew lol. So it's sort of hidden in full view if that makes sense ... sweatdrop I just move everything to their appropriate place when i use it.

wow i guess im one of the lucky ones im 18 and my partly phycic mom and sister dont seem to mind my practicing of witchcraft i talk to them about things im looking for to do rituals and they say that they will help me look around for things if i want on the condition that i dont set the house on fire or anything like tat.

My tools are all things that have found me when I required them, things I have collected and been given to me as gifts. I have an athame, though generally prefer to use my wand which was brought for me when my home made one was lost with a lot of my other possessions a few years ago. It is only small, made out of slightly twisted dark wood and topped with a round laboradorite crystal and an amethyst point. My besom is part of a halloween costume, but it still does the job! If what you have works for you then it's all good.

I cleansed it, and painted some runes on it, but even before that, I really liked it - especially for the purpose. My parents just went to Australia, and my mum bought me this beautiful scrying bowl. It's really, really pretty - it's decorated with trees on the outside, and the roots connect in celtic patterns, and it's so.... heart Nemisis Now is the brand (hate that word...) that made both the bowl, and my Athame. I really like the stuff they make...

I can't wait to move out so I don't have to put a lock on my book of shadows and hide everything else!
