Beware the Jabberwock kp606 Master Kaiser The thing I just realized when talking to these people is that, they won't respect you back, they never will, so whats the use? I'm going to quit being the nice guy and be an a*****e... to an extent. But still passive agressivness is quite fun. Kaiser, you leaving isn't what I had in mind. Thank you for relaying my messages but I only did that so people didn't actually believe I tossed Talon out for no reason. If you want to be there, please by all means be there. They like you so that's what we call an accomplishment. 3nodding xd To Beware: Your support is beyond words. Thank you. Haha if I recall correctly it was Kate and I that were screaming "******** ban him!" and you were the one that didn't want to because you knew he'd pull this s**t. So really I don't have any reason NOT to support you, I wanted him banned long before you actually did it. They wouldn't believe that though. I'm a terrible, horrible, evil person who forces pregnancy on women. Much like I forced my own existence on my poor single mother rolleyes . But they were outnumbered 600 to 1. Did they actually think it bothered me that they chose to stand before an entire guild in ideology? As long as they weren't posting porn or harassing members, it really wouldn't have mattered.

@Cyanna: Ha! Your mom sounds almost exactly like my mom. Although, my mom never did work outside the home after marrying my dad, that was her choice, not because she felt that that was the way women -had- to act, or because my dad/religion forced her to, but because that's what she wanted to do.
In a way, that sort of "feminism" reminds me of the Pro-Choice side: They say, "Oh, we want women to be equal to men, to be able to choose what they do!" When in reality, when they run into a full-time mother/housewife, they start complaining about how they are "betraying their sex," and whatnot. Comparable to how the Pro-Choicers are always saying, "Oh, we want women to have a choice!" Whereas when they find someone confused about whether they want a kid or not, they automatically start going, "Well, if you aren't sure, you should have an abortion." Or if they find a mother of 7 kids, it's automatically because she's Catholic. No you twit! It's because she ******** wants 7 kids!
I swear, the next time my mom gets pregnant and the doctor suggests she have her tubes tied, she's gonna strangle him. stare
@Sachiko: I don't think she's saying that you can't do those things. And domestic means someone who stays in the home, like a housewife... It's not a bad thing. sweatdrop It actually means, essentially, "Of the home." Like, domestic disputes are disputes within the family, within the home. Domesticated animals I would guess are called that because they live in such close relation to humans, almost within our homes (Like cats and dogs.) That doesn't mean, though, that a domestic wife is a "tamed" or enslaved wife. My mom would be insulted to hear domestic wivery referred to that way.
@World at large: I actually kind of like ThePeerOrlando, outside of debate (He's apparently working on his third banning, by the way). He's a complete a*****e, and I think that's part of why I like him; Because he knows it. And it's malicious intent so much as it is that that's just his personality. He pisses people off less because he hates them or whatever, and more because he thinks it's funny. Which is, of course, the definition of a troll, but hey, at least he seems to accept it. razz
Not defending him; Like I said, he's a complete a*****e. But I do think he's somewhat amusing at times. And you have to admit that he does listen to reason somewhat in that "This Guild's..." thread.

I should probably just quote the girl who said this, but since there's a comment related to it right before my post, I won't.
Just because a girl likes sewing and kids and is family oriented does not mean she is brainwashed by an anti-feminist society. Whether western culture wants to admit it or not, that is a woman's place. God created men to be leaders, to take responsibility and care for their women; women were created to be helpers of men, to be the "softer side" of humanity if you will. Personally, I'm glad my only God-given responsibility in life is to take care of children. Men have it so much harder- they (should) have to be financially and emotionally stable and be able to support a family before they even consider starting one. They have to be the head of the relationship and the leader (which by no means means that women have no say), and are held responsible for making the tough decisions.
So it's no wonder women have their desires and men have theirs. It's not cultural or societal pressures- it's hardwiring.
At any rate, this, again, has nothing to do with the topic. sweatdrop I just like adding my two cents in wherever I can. I really don't have any rants except on my one friend who is pro-choice, but that's only because she's ignorant and has no personality. She's not even really my friend; it's just the obligatory title we've chosen for each other after six years of knowing each other.

Oh my God I love you. crying I normally don't like to drive sensitive points home but I just want to say, alot of what you say is true. Being a guy, sociologically, you have alot of roles to meet up too, and the worst part is, you have so very few options. Women are accepted and loved no matter what, they're several open lesbians in my school, my Catholic school. As of right now, they're no known openly gay boys. The adonis male is a huge archetype for guys that most must live by, women? You guys can actually choose to be however you want to be and no one will judge you for it.

Heh, maybe we should start a thread on "Women's/Male's Roles," because we seem to have people from all three sides in here:
1. Women and men's traditional roles in society should be upheld, i.e. "Women should stay at home and take care of the kids, men should make the tough decisions and bring home the bacon." 2. Resistant to women "filling" the traditional role, i.e. "You're not going to force me to stay at home, under the heel of Man!" 3. Men and women's roles shouldn't be concrete either way; If a man wants to do things that are traditionally a woman's job, or a woman wants to do things that are traditionally a man's job, then there's nothing wrong with that.

Well, I'm not really opposed to career women or stay-at-home dads, but overall, I follow the "women submit" way of cherishing and honoring their men and the "men provide and protect" way of cherishing and honoring their women. You can have both. 3nodding

Ah I guess that makes more since, though the word always reminds me of house pets like cats. But I still hate how people look down on me for somethings (mostly these older people my mom knows).

No offense, but you did kind of make it sound bad to not follow the traditional roles. sweatdrop I agree, that's a beautiful way for it to work out. However, I -do- disagree with the "woman submit" thing, it just feels wrong to me. It really does feel like equating the woman to a second class citizen, because she has to "submit" to her husband.
I mean, don't get me wrong! Like I said, I think it's a beautiful way for things to work out, if the woman is willing to follow the traditional roles and the man is willing to follow them as well that's a great thing, but I really don't think that being submissive on the woman's part is a necessary part. sweatdrop Because I like dominant women. heart domokun

I think it should because we want to do not because we have to (unless you live on your own, then you might have to do things you don't really like). As long as things get done, then why does it matter if the man or woman does what? Maybe staying in a house all day just drives me crazy from boredom. Like cooking, the most I would do it bake ( I'm scared of fire so that's what I hate the stove and boiler, don't ask). Try not to get the wrong idea. I don't hate traditional roles, just hate being forced into the trandtional role (if I wasn't forced into I probly won't care then and do a lot of the things anyways). I have issues of being forced and controlled.
