The Daugther of the 9 Moons is, best phrased, different/unique from the other characters, even for Jordan. I can't say much till you figure a couple of things out.
There are 12 out, and the 13th will be the last in the series hopefully, on account of Jordan's sudden terminal illness.

I adore this series it's so well written and really makes you keep your mind focused on the book. It's captivating. I have to admit however that Crossroads of Twilight was awfully dry. I understand why he had to write it, but for my critiques sake I found it extremely dry. I'm currently reading Knife of Dreams and hopefully I'll get back into it. (I read numerous books at the same time) Mat, Faile and Nynaeve are by far my favourite characters they're priceless and unforgettable.
edit: I didn't know Jordan was terminally ill and isn't Jordan one of his pen names?

I don't know about the pen name, but Jordan recently got a illness...I'll link you a thread about that. KoD is by far better than CoT...and it has more of the feel of the inital books; more action, less dry. Here's the link to the article on Jordan. http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=2506668

Oh no crying . Not Robert Jordan. But he seems like he cares enough to let people know. I love how he's motivated to beat it. HE CAN DO IT!!

Er...his wife...it's in the letter...at some point he states another reason for his will to live is because he promised his wife Harriet that he'd be there for their 50th anniversary...

OMG! That's so amazing. (Yes, I am out of the loop on a lot of my favourite authors.) I hope he fights this and manages to do whatever he loves to do. If that be writing then so be it.

This is the first time I have heard about RJ's illness. That is a shame. I hope he lives, not only because I don't want the world to lose a great author, but because I want harriet and he to celebrate their 50th!!
