oh no!!!!!! I have never read those books, but if the movie is like all other movies from books, it will be awful!!!!! Hollywood is ruining all the good books/series!!!

I loved Eragon and Eldest, and I can already tell that they are going to screw things up. I love the Harry Potter books too but I can't watch the movies without yelling so I refuse to watch them. I will watch the movie, but I can already tell I'm not going to like it. A proper version would be a lot more that 2 hours. Oh well, at least more people will be exposed to the book. Hopefully

I'm not really sure if it'll be bad or not. I know I'll go see it bad reveiws or not since I loved the book.
I'm wondering how they'll have Eragon talk to Saphira because they can't cut that out since a lot of key conversations go on between them. I'm also wondering who will be the voice of Saphira since we already know who the actors will be.

Some people may not agree, but think that Christopher Paolini plagarized off several things to write Eragon and Eldest.
They should make one of his sources, Anne McCaffery's "The Dragonriders of Pern" or Ursula LeGuin's "The Wizard of Earthsea" into a movie as they are much much better than Paolini's work. His other main source, namely Star Wars, of course is a movie.
Ever notice how similar some of his characters' names are to LOTR? I think that was the first thing I noticed...in fact, if you look up Eragon on Wikipedia, it has a section about that.
The movie isn't even out yet and I already have a complaint: Arya's hair is the wrong color.
And I think the next dragon will be black or green. (random choices)
I think it'll be green also, because anything else would require thinking out of the box. My little sister just read a series called "The Wheel of Time" by Robert Jordan and he stole the entire first chapter from there. It has the farm decimated, the monsters attacking that are exactly the ones in his book. It's a rip-off. And the second book sucked.

Well I've never read the series before. I think this will be like how I got into Harry Potter. I didn't read the books till I saw the movies and liked them. If the movie is good, I'll give the books a chance I think.

i'm reading the 'Wheel of Time' series and Eragon seems to have stolen /much/ more than the first chaper... it drove me crazy trying to read Eragon... i somehow got a quater through Eldest before puting the book down though...
*possible spoiler*(i'm not sure if it is so...) i saw the movie and they butchered the book... they nearly changed the whole storyline especially the ending
I went to see the movie yesterday and I must say that I like the books a lot more than the movie. I think it was definitely a mistake to make it into a movie.

I thought the next dragon was going to be gold...? I bought my friend an Eragon bookmark, and it had the two dragons from the other books, and a third, gold dragon on it.

I saw the movei and it was good by itself like my mom liked it but she hasn't read the books (never see a movie based on a book you've read with a parent, Half the movie my mom was leaning over and asking me of so-and-so was a good guy or if someone was gonna die. It was so annoying!) I thought it was okay on it's wown as well but it butchered the practically the whole book. Here's just a few mahor things: 1) When Saphira gets big Eragon isn't the one to name her, she names herself, so that already cuts out the tie where
Brom's dragon who got killed was named Saphira as well 2)the completely screwed up the part with
Angela the herbalist, they found her in completely the wrong city and Solumbum never shows up 3) They also mess up the layout of the city in Farthen Dur 4) This was the one that really bothered me, since they messed up Farthen Dur's layout they had to completely change
the battle with Durza and how Eragon kills him.
Lastly, they already set themselves up to mess up the beginning of the second movie if they even plan on making one which I'm sure they do.
There were also a lot of design features messed up but I'll spare you those details unless you want me to post them.

My brother wants to see this movie, since he read the first two books of the series. He says they are good. The movie looks good so I got to get my but in gear and read them.
Amazing how many books I own yet I still got to the library to get one to read.
