Eclipse smiled at him "he is fine, the butler is alot stronger then he looks and as I said, it probably isnt good for him to be walking around like this but he is wanting to work. He says hes fine so I will let him work unless he gets worse or whatever and then I will demand him to stay in bed" he said to the as he looked at him curiously. Eclipse followed the rats gaze to the tiger then decided that it might just be best to remove her from the rats sight.
"It is almost time for Malika's dinner, I will get the butler to put her out, excuse me for a moment" he said as he walked to the door and looked out it, seeing the butler by the fire place in the main hall. "Ecuse me, can you please take Malika out to have her dinner? She can have it early tonight" he said to the butler as he moved back into the room and waited.
The butler came in a couple of moments later and smiled at the both of them "Malika, come on girl, come and get dinner" he called to her as he stood by the door.
Malika got up just like yawned and followed the butler out, pleased that she could finally get something to eat.
Eclipse patted the back of her as she passed and watched them go before turning back to the rat and offered him his glass once more. "Here you go, its wine, if you wish me to get you something else just ask" he said to him, hoping he would be alright now.

Gideon registered very little of the exchange until he realized that the tiger was indeed, quite gone. Taking the wine gratefully, he sipped a little more than might be considered polite right on the offset and nodded belatedly, "Oh yes, fine, thank you," he said so quickly that the words jumbled and flowed together. "Thank you," he repeated, likely not noticing the repetition considering how frazzled his nerves were. Too many predators in this place. Hopefully it wasn't the hunt he'd sensed on Eclipse.
"Thank you," he repeated a third time, putting the glass down and resting his cane against the table hurriedly. Impolite to carry the trappings of the outdoors indoors, yes? "For sending out your... ah... tiger. I've become aggressively not fond of cats," the explanation was perhaps unnecessary - or perhaps it was.

Eclipse sat down on one of the sofa's and took a sip of his drink "it's quite alright and understandable, it was my fault, I shouldnt of asked one of the maids or the butler to put her out before you came. It was insensitive of me once again, my apologies" he said to the other as he took a sip from his glass "and your most welcome." Eclipse said to the other, he couldnt wait to show how much the rat, or at least his wild species, were truely 'hunted' even in 'captivity. Eclipse was still planning on sinking his teeth into the nice warm flesh of the rats neck after dinner though unlike most preditor he will let the rat live to see another day.

Gideon's lips were pressed together in awkward silence. The oldness of the house, the strangeness of it - not to mention the overabundance of predators - had quite distracted him from the idea of dinner. Apparently, free food wasn't the most important thing in the world. "No, that's--ah... I'm a guest in your home," Gideon forced a nervous laugh and covered it quickly with another sip of wine. Hm. Been a long time since he'd had any alcohol in such a finely crafted beverage. Wine wasn't the usual run of his gamut.
"But out of..." survival instinct "Curiosity, do you have any other pets I ought to worry about?"

"As you stated, your a guest and as host I should make your stay here a pleasent one" he said as he took another sip from the glass and shook his head. "No, there arnt anymore animals inside that you have to worry about" he said to the other, knowing that the aligators and other snakes are outside obviously.

Gideon blinked once. Frowned. Swilled down the rest of the wine. Good stars, what was he doing here? He was now almost convinced that the odd feeling he'd caught from Eclipse was the remnant of all the 'pets' the fox kept about the estate, which meant either that he had developed a death wish somewhere or that... Or that he was supposed to come here.
What was it his horoscope had said today? Be wary the unknown path or something. With something reversed standing in the way? The poetry had dropped off after the first line. Curse faulty short term memory, curse it! "You... aren't a zoologist by any chance?" he asked by way of shaky conversation starter, looking for the nearest chair and plopping into it indelicately.

Eclipse took a mouthful of his 'wine' and shook his head "no, im not, I just love exotic animals" he said to the other truthfully as he finished off his drink and placed the cup on the tray. Eclipse looked at the time and realised that dinner should have been ready by now, he got up and was about to excuse himself when a maid came in.
The maid smiled at them both and nodded "Sir, dinner is ready, please make your way to the dinning hall please when your ready" she said as she walked back out.
Eclipse smiled at the other "well then, dinner is served" he said as he made his way to the door "please, follow me" he said to the other, knowing the butler would the dishes.

"Okay," said Gideon, simply. There was little enough for him to figure out here unless he really started asking questions because reasoning what he'd seen out on his own obviously hadn't gotten him very far yet and oh stars what if there was another large creature in the dining room? Maybe it'd be a freakishly huge hamster. He could deal with that. Don't be ridiculous, his mind snapped, if there's any freakishly huge thing in this mansion it's your paranoia.
But it's hard to be paranoid when you know what's coming... And while Gideon's knowledge of what was to come didn't necessarily involve himself all the time, a little bit of foresight never hurt. Following along without wasting another thought on his nervosity, he embarked once more on the shaky trail of conversation, "Exotic animals... sounds like... an interesting hobby." Oh, great. That was a good one e_e

Eclipse walked to the dinning hall and smiled at the other "it is though time consuming and alot of money goes into keeping such animals but I love taking care of them." He said to him as he stopped outside the Dinning Room "after you" he said to the other as he gestured for him to go into the dinning room that was basically just as creepy as the other rooms in the place.

And the only finishing touches this dining room lacked were perhaps a portrait with moving eyes in the corner and a dead body on the table. Oh wait, the former was actually there >_< Okay, he really had to start distracting himself by talking to his host, because the surroundings weren't helping his concentration any. For the first time, the possibility of pursuing free dinner dawned upon Gideon as a bad idea.
"It's good that you have something you enjoy," he said, words flowing together again as he scooted into the dining room, glancing about nervously. "Some people do gardening, you know."

((*is cracking up laughing* while Gideon gets spooked out by the mansion I am playing on offical Haunted Mansion site which just totally sets the mood more so. XD
I am just having so much fun with this fox! XD))
Eclipse walked in behind the rat and took his seat at the head of the table "please, sit where you wish" he offered the rat, granted that it was a massive long table so he had plenty of seats to choose from but that was besides the point. However, with the smell of this beautiful food he wished, yet again, that he could eat food and try the wonders that his 'father' never gave him. He sighed and noticed that his 'wine' was already in front of him "I know some do gardning but that gets borining after a while so I decided to do something a little more interesting" he said to the rat as he took a sip from his glass.

((Schweet xd I luff ghosts n' stuff, they're like... my supernatural addiction razz ))
Thing was, the absolute least creepy thing about this place (besides the food) was Eclipse himself, which meant that Gideon sat as close as possible (rather than, say, on the far end or near the shadows) to his host at the table. "Yeah... lots of patience required for horticulture..." he agreed, wishing desperately he had something more interesting to say and preoccupy his mind with.
The lay out of the --veritable banquet o_o--was amazing. Gideon practically had to sit on his hands to keep from digging in. Manners were key when guesting. "Were you expecting someone?" he asked, nodding his head to the food, "Looks like... a lot."

((lol yesh, me to! I admit there are times where I have scared myself stupid but still I just cant ever say no to a good ghost story or move or anything. XD))
Eclipse shook his head "no, noone else, just you, I just didnt know what you would like so I got the cheifs to cook up a bit of everything, the same goes for desert. There is a several things you can choose from when its time but you will see later, however I wont be joining you this evening to eat as I have been on a diet lately as I have put on weight that I am trying to get off. But please, by all means, help yourself when your ready, I will stay to keep you company of course" he said to the other. Eclipse took another sip of his drink and some what lost himself in thought a little though not enough to not know if the other was speaking to him.

Though he was still a little baffled with the amount of food, the generosity and the situation in general, Gideon never had to be told twice to dig in. Not that he'd been told in the first place. Regardless, he'd soon heaped a plate full of the grand variety of dishes available. Couldn't let the food go to waste, yeah?
"So what else do you do on a normal day, besides take care of your beasts--I mean, pets?" he asked, settling down quite comfortably with his overflowing plate.

Eclipse looked over his glass at the rat and finished taking a sip and then placed the glass back on the table. "I have a grand library here that has books from the mid 1700's to the mid 1800's, all collectors items but all in good condition and nice to read. Other then that I usually just try and keep this place maintained, it is true I have maids to do that for me but I too like to help out every now and again."
Eclipse said to the other, biting his bottom lip as he thought over what he was planning to do and suddenly felt a little guilty at what he was going to do. It was true he had drank the blood of many people before but usually that was when he hadnt wined and dined them first, but now he was having second thoughts of drinking the blood from this rat. He had only really done it this once a handful of times before and he enjoyed it but this rat, he just couldnt take his blood for some odd reason, he wanted to as he hasdnt had blood from anyone in a while but for some reason he just couldnt.
He sighed and picked up his glass and took another sip, thinking the situation over.
