 There was that word again...cheetah. How increadibly dull these outsiders were, "Months now? I've not seen you about. Certainly you're not one of the pride here..." There was something almost dangerous in his tone though it had a certain curiosoty to it. Months then? That was hard to believe. The lands had been set up with a patrol to include himself. The locals were quite cross with their lands being invaded as it was. Already a cub had been taken by outsiders, the sources were practally being raped dry, starving their own cubs. A crying shame it was. "Don't think me rude... but did you have any intention on making yourself known to whom these lands belong? Or did you feel it was more fitting to join the rest of the outsiders in simply living in a home that is not yours to live in?"

Mapa was just beginning to feel in her element, enjoying her conversation with this brownest of brown males when the scene was interrupted with suh an oddly pelted cheetah. Although, Mapa had no reason to think him odd pelted - she was a striking blue and white afterall.
A subtle curling of the lips traced across her muzzle, showing an evident aggitation towards the creature. She didn't have anything personal against them, but he wasn't being overly polite.
"I am passing through. I came here with a friend who does, indeed, wish to make himself known to whoever or whatever rules here. He is looking for his heritage," she replied in a cold manner.

"Now now...", he said smoothly, waving a dismissive paw at the lioness' expression, "There's no need to scowl at me in such a way. I speak only the truth, lies are below me." He rolled his large shoulders, giving a slight display of his proud form, well sculpted from an assumably difficult lifestyle. Not a scar on his body though, well-groomed though... he smelled of dampness, of earth and wind...not like the dry jungle around them. "So you can trust when I tell you that you both arrived at quite an unfortunate time I'm afraid. You see..." He stepped forward calmly, tossing his mantle over off to one side, "These lands have fallen into... disfavor you might say. Favor out of the eyes of their god, or of even themselves. Sacred ground and all that. I'm not a rightful member here, I confess..." He walked in-between the two, flicking his long tail behind him, "But... it is quite rude to walk about someone's home without a proper invitation, is it not? Trespassing is quite impolite."

Mapa had taken a dislike to this cheetah. His words did not fall on deaf ears, but he himself wasn't a rightful member of whatever pride ruled here. So who was he to 'chase off trespassers?'
"I am not here to cause unrest or steal your resources. Like I said, I am just passing through, seeking a little sanctuary. I will be gone by morning," she replied, neither apologetic or confrontational.
Mapa wasn't a fighter, nor was she interested in pride and land. She still found this cheetah to be terribly rude. What if she had seeked refuge from attack? Or had nowhere else to go? Would he still have been so cold.

Koda turned away, growling slightly. "Look, kid -- I've been here for quite a while now, and i've made it my home for the moment. Unfortunatly, its going to take more than your pitiful words to move me. I'm staying put in this pride until I see fit to leave. This is obviously not as inviting of a place as the Pridelands is." He rolled his eyes, and then got up and began padding off a ways, motioning Mapenzi to follow him.
"I have no reason to speak with a rude cheetah like yourself any longer." He spat in the orange-brown toned creature, and then wandered off. He was extremely disgusted. No one had EVER told him to leave before, so he was slightly offended by his words.

The cheetah threw his head back in laughter, pausing in mid-stride to allow himself to work the laughter from the pit of his belly back to the point where he could actually speak. The nimble creature bounded up into the boughs of a tree, moving smoothly along the branches. Trees were nothing compared to rocks, "And since when were you a part of the pride? This is not my home, but I have been within the pride myself, they are disgusted by the likes of you..."
He slank down the trunk of the tree, landing himself in front of the male, his eyes showing no fear in him, "Tell me then... psudo-mistweaver... what god rules this land? What's the law command? Or even better... write your name."

Mapenzi followed Koda's example, and got up to walk beside him. The cheetah's laughter filled her with an ominous feeling, and she looked back to examine him further. But there was no time. The lithesome, and loathesome, creature had already descended from his safe place and put himself right in front of Koda.
Surely, this cheetah wasn't quite right in the head...aggrivating two lions who might take exception to his snide comments? Sounded like a death-wish to her.

Koda snorted with disgust. "Look, I don't know about the religion of the land, the rulers, or anything. I'm here because I can be. ... ... and if you were a smart little kid, I'd recommend to leave me as be. I don't want this arugement to turn into violence."
He stayed close to Mapenzi, growling madly at the orange-toned cheetah.

Throwing insults and threats was getting neither of them anywhere. In the end, Mapa felt it a total waste of ehr time and energy to indulge this cheetah any longer. With a final parting growl and glare, she left, spending only one more night in the Umande lands before setting out into the plains once more.
