Things were just as boring for young Jaques, the vampyr had traveled to his Clans coven and gave his elder's the news he gathered from his few moments in Esthell. Now he was suppose to go back and continue what he had been sent out to do; watch over Ariah and make sure shes a good little girl.

Except that is exactly the opposite of what Mr. Dershowitz wanted to do at the moment. He'd passed by Esthell and continued walking until his maroon colored eyes fell onto this estate. It was quite large, not the biggest, but who's measuring?

Now how did this vampyr make it through the daylight without sizzling to exstinction? Thats quite simple, Jaques found some shade in a small cave off in the distance. When the sun showed signs of falling off and lighting the rest of Gaia he awoke and stumbled out, to continue his journey of not knowing where he was off to.

He had walked around the place for awhile, not daring to talk to anyone or walk into any of the buildings. Until his nose got the nice scent of something. What was that something? It was food, and before the scent hit the nerves in his nose he hadn't realized how hungry he was. So he followed it into the building, turning corners, going up and downstairs, not quite sure where he was headed.

Than he finally found it, and his whole body was delighted. He walked past a couple of table until he was stopped by his whole right side slammed into a seat that a lady had been sitting in. He almost toppled over by surprise, but grabbed the chair to steady himself.

His cover, the one that hid his tourist-ness, was blown. . .Or was it? He wasn't sure.

"Oh dear, I'm terribly sorry." Any girl would die for that slight british accent he tried to hide.

*Adina's measuring eyes flicked to the newcomer's face and a fine eyebrow arched in amusement. She rises gracefully to her feet, the long silken folds of her gown cascading about her pearlescent self as she reaches out a slender hand to help steady him, the other catching up her goblet.

Raising the glass in a gesture of greeting, the beverage reflects the deep crimson of her aged eyes. The only thing about her that betrayed her true age. If not for the knowledge that they held, the woman didn't look a day over 24.

Her rubied lips quirk into a beckoning smile as she replies, her own accent a more potent version of his own, even after all these years, Adina had not lost the dialect that credited her birthplace.*

"Not to worry my dear. Now... where did you pop up from? I know all the vampires who make their residence here... and I don't believe we've been aquainted?"

*It was more of a mild statement than a question, but she still phrased it as such, as she bowed her head slightly and curtsied to the stranger*

What a small world. Jaques stomache was driving him and he didn't even realize the girl was of his own kin, not from the same clan. . . And she was certainly of the undead kind.

He bowed his head lightly when she told him not to worry. Than she continued, his head popped up from the ground to look into her eyes. She was a smart girl and she knew faces well. That was not good for this man though.

Jaq removed the metal trap that covered half of his face, with his right hand and revealed his clearly handsome face.
"I am Jaques Dershowitz. . . I'm not exactly a residence here, more of a hungry passerbyer."

What was meant to be a statement came out more as a question, but he continued. "Unless this is not the passerby type of place, than I will make my leave." He lowered his right hand, still holding his trap jaw and gave a quarter moon smile showing only the tips of his top four fangs.

*It was the poor man's misfortune that Adina was as old as she was. And that she was who she was. She'd had some small necromancy ability when she still walked the world of light, but it had remained mostly dormant. That bit of innate talent combined with her 'new' eternal race had awakened interesting side effects. Not only could Adina sense her own, but her mind seemed to note any whom the power of the grave had touched.

But she had taken a leave of absence from her council duties in London. The drama of the elders' council had lulled some while ago, after they'd slain a certain vampire lord back in Britain. A serial killer... and this woman's maker... but that was behind her now.

Still. She meant this man no harm unless he provided her with reason otherwise. She glides over to a shelf and fetches a second goblet, pouring Jaques an appetizer.

She hands it to him with a smile and grins, flashing the tips of dainty fangs.*

"Not at all. The Dark Sakura is most accomodating of travellers. I do suggest however dear Jaques, that you at least check in. Lest somthing unfortunate were to befall you."

She offered the glass, but he polietely declined. "I have had my fill of water from the red river." Lies of course, but blood straight from a Homo sapien could kill deary Jaques.

"Something unfortunate?" Forget the checking inn bit, this certainly peeked his interest, not only on the Dark Sakura, but on the girl woman in front of him. "Whatever could you mean-- ?"

He realized he didn't know her name, she never gave it, most certainly because he never asked. How rude, more of him, than of her. So he asked. "I gave you my name, but if I'm not mistaken, I have not gotten yours."

Being a gentlemen, and mostly forgeting his hunger, he lightly touched the top of her chair, slightly pulling it farther from the table, so she may take her place again.

"None here have any reason to skulk in the shadows unless they be a theif or some other foe... and such persons usually find themselves in a bad way upon discovery."

*The vampiress smiles and seats herself with an ageless grace as she smiles at him casually as she replies*

"Forgive me my rudeness, I am known as the Lady Adina, rarely do I disclose more of my identity than that so shortly after meeting. Precaution..."

He chuckled lightly as he took the back of the seat and pushed it back towards the table. "I'm afraid all the shadows have ran for fear of being caught in the dark. I have nothing to hide, but if it has seemed that way. . . Well than, I was not aware." Another light chuckle as he strolled around the table taking the seat directly across from Adina.

His elbows rested upon the table in front of him and he smiled again. Though the smile was only seen for a short period as he replaced the metal trap, hooking it underneath his ears.

"Lady Adina," he repeated the name, just to make sure he got it down. He was about to ask if she was of royal blood until she continued. "That is fine with me, knowing too much of someone always puts a damper on good things."

Jaques has also seen too many movies where a crazy person meets an innocent bystander and ends up getting them killed because of the information exchanged. Less information, in his eyes was a much better way to go.

*Adina grins and runs a forefinger around the rim of her glass*

"Forgive me my suspicious nature Jaques, but one does not surive centuries by being blindly trusting."

*She raises the goblet to her lips and takes a lengthly sip before inquiring*

"Is there anything that I can get for you since the whine is to your displeasure?"

Jaques waved off her apology, as he would have waved off an annoying fly from his face. "I know how it is. I, myself, have been damaged by this thing we call trust."

He thought for a second, her words brought back his hunger and he decided yes, she could help him. "A hamburger maybe? Rare would be nice."
PostPosted: Mon May 29, 2006 4:07 pm

*The vampiress smiles as her eyebrow arched a second time, curiosity lurking on her face as she gets to her feet. Not many vampires bothered with food outside of blood and energy... if that could be called food. This one was quickly piquing her interests. But if a burger was what he wanted, he would receive. She wanders over to the counter and places an order with one of the persocons and then rejoined him.*

"She said it'll be ready in about 10 minutes..."

Jaques watched as Adina silently got up and ordered him some food. Unlike Adina, it seems, Jaques has met almost every form of vampires, or vampyrs, however. While training to become an Elder, he traveled the world, and had to study and meet most other races. Usually though, he kept to his own.

She was nothing new to Mr. Dershowitz, prettier than most of the female vampires he'd met. They were usually covered in scars and their lives had aged their looks. . . Though with Adina, she seemed to glow, a bright light of beauty, something that hit Jaques as, well, pretty freakin' wonderful.

When she sat back down he gave a small nod to show his appreciation.
"Thank you." Than a question hit him, like a rock in the back of the head, he wasn't sure why, but he just wanted to know; "Do you sleep in a coffin?"

Yeah, he was a true weirdo.

*Adina had met a few like the man before her now... but not many. She was not only a sensual being, but an intillectual one as well. Thusly it was not strange to find her contemplating what knowledge she might gain from him.

Her gaze caught his at the slightly odd question however and her lips quirked into a smile as she though 'curiouser and curiouser'. Aloud she said...*

"Mmm... I have one, as well as some soil from my homeland my friend. The coffin is more a thing of decoration than practicality. I have a rather lovely king sized bed that I much prefer as I may sleep wherever I will as long as daylight does not find me in unanimated state...."

"I've always wondered why vampyrs, or rather vampires," Jaques pronounced "vampyrs" more like "vampiers", "slept in coffins. . . They aren't ver comfortable and they're a pain to open from the inside. Though I have heard that certain vampires can be healed from sleeping in them. I haven't figured out how that works yet, but the key word is yet. . ."

Jaques gave another smile behind his metal jaw and winked lightly. He intertwined his fingers and leaned back in his chair, getting a little more comfortable, but kept his hand on the table top. His left leg slipped over his right, just enough for his ankles to cross.

*Being the lady that she was, Adina's ankles were crossed in a very similar fashion, but all of that would be lost beneath the voluminous depths of her skirts.

Grinning warmly at him, a slight flash of dainty fang, Adina nods*

"I can rejenerate wherever, coffin or no. Some vampires rely on their sire or whomever turned them. Generally if one cannot heal on their own after 200 years... they won't ever be able to. But perhaps it is because a coffin is their tie to death, that it reinforces the power of the grave?"

"My clansmen and myself can heal ourselves with our mucus. Its gross, and we rely on it only when we're severly damaged, but it has a disinfectant that kills bacteria and helps our wounds scab over. . ."

His shoulders lifted slightly and than fell back to their normal positions. He tilted his head to the right slightly, as if the idea that it tied the vampires to their death never accured to him. "Hmm. . . I've always dismissed that thought, because the idea of death scares many, mainly the undead," he untangled his hands to use his fingers as quotations, "and especially those who have just recently been turned. . . Though I've never really discussed it with any coffin dwellers."

His eyes squinted as if he were trying to read something and than they returned to normal. "Though I have only met a few of those types. . . I think they might try to keep from other races, until they need to feed, that is. I wouldn't mind meeting some, poking and proding at them." A slight pause. "Not literally of course."
