Omfg, I took that picture of you! rofl

Memories. heart

I suck with curling irons though. My hair is naturally curly, but I really wish I could master the skill of making it curlier. I heard that tightly wrapping your hair around small cloths and tying the ends of the cloths together (while your hair is wet) will help produce pretty ringlets after leaving them on to dry over night. Guess that works just like cheap curlers, and it seems that most people don't have too much luck with those. Oh well.

OMG, her hair is so kawaii!! I'd recommend putting curlers in vertically going up and down, my mom used to curl my hair all the time when I was little and she put the curlers going side to side and they don't turn out as ringlets, just wavey.

There are soft spongy type curlers you can get at walmart that have clips with them. Get you hair wet and try to curl your hair vertically. Sleep with the curlers in, I'd recommend a shower cap to keep them from wrigling loose. Mist your hair with hairspray lightly in the morning before taking the curlers out. Wait for the spray to dry then unclip the hair and unwravle ur hair by gently pulling downwards. Spray hair again lightly when done. This SHOULD work. It takes practice getting the curlers in right though.

I never got rollers to work. @_@

Specifically, on how to use a curling iron for curls (If you haven't been helped enough).

Take a small chunk of hair, and open the clip of the iron (the alligator mouth thing. =o ) all the way.
Place the very end of your hair as close to the bottom of the barrel as possible.
Roll the curler, making sure the hair doesn't overlap and roll up all of your hair, to the scalp.
I usually hold for 15 alligators, but I have thin, wavy hair, so yours would probably take longer.
Theres a tutorial somewhere in one of my GL Bibles... I'll try to find it and show you what I mean. XD

Wow! I did this ( ^ ), but because I have thick, straight hair I held it for 20 seconds, and it's working really well... Except I got a little lazy on my right side. And I did something crazy with my front hair.

Right side XD

It all together with the weird front and my only lolita dress XD

All together it took me One hour and 3 mins crying I wish I could do it on normal school days... but I only get about 10 mins to get ready crying

And it's staying in quite well!

how can i get my hair into ringlets? ive tried everything... curlers, curling sampoo, curling iron, putting my hair into twists and letting it dry like that... but nothing works for me. everything i try turns into a frizzy mess. my hair is naturally straight and its pretty thick and heavy. does anyone know of a way i could possibly get my hair to look the way i want it?
I dont know if it would do precisely what you want, but you could part your hair however you want, and then braid your hair.. After a few hours of your hair being like that and then letting it out..

Eh.. it wount be ringlets.. but it'll be wavy.. and it wont become a frizzy mess. 3nodding

sometimes if you put gel/ hairspray in your hair while using a curler works.... just be careful not to get burned.... that kind of works, but my hairs really hard to work with too!

I wanted ringlets for prom since I had bought a Victorian dress to wear. There was a curler with different head (crimper, curler, ringlet curler, and straightener) that Wal-Mart had for about $15 that I had my eye on. I bought it, expecting it to not work very well (I have long, thick, wavy hair that falls to my hips). I tried it and it worked wonderfully! With hairspray they held the whole night, and even after I got home (I had to brush them out that night though D: ). I did use the hairspray that had been given to me last prom by my hair stylist (extra strength salon formula). It kept my hair nice and shiny and didn't feel or look like I had any hairspray on at all.

That sounds good. o.o Do you know what brand of hairspray it was? sweatdrop

I saw that picture in the Gothic & Lolita Hair and Makeup Bible. ^^ I know the top pictures with the blonde hair is a wig- you can see the girl putting on a wig cap. ^^ And the bottom is where the girl put her hair up into buns and used hair extensions of some sort to create the hair spiraling around the buns. Looks really cute, though. ^^ There are a couple ringlet-wigs you can buy at the Amphigory. (www.amphigory.com) ^___^

For ringlet curls I use Irish dancing hair curlers. They are sorta like a spike with a hole at the end. I dont really have super thick hair. Once I have the curlers out I spray like crazy with hair spray, but now my hair is sorta short I dont do ringlets anymore cry
