Rage tilted her head and smiled, he could help? He must be older than she, or so Rage thought, she wasn't sure though. She shook her head though and looked around, seeming to get lost in it all,"I can't remember...my memory, my mind does not like me yes? Confuses me...makes bad things happen."

Standing up she shook her fur, it poofed out a little for a moment before being dampened again by the rain. The cold did not phase her for the most part, but it made the bone in her left hind paw ache a bit though she did not show it, she wouldn't let herself show it.

The rain was a calming force of nature, though in the back of her mind Rage wondered many things...like if this rain reached the valley, if it washed erverything away. If the rain fell in a bright blue azure color to heal the valley again...if they were indeed Arguin's tears.

"It smells like salt..." Rage thought as she prodded her mind for answers, "By a big lake yes, that smells like salt but you cannot drink from it..." she didn't know if it was called anything else, it just appeared as a large lake. She wondered if this would help Cael at all...or perhaps if just calling out to Phib or Amelie would help too. Even Mozelle.

Well, either with directions or not, Cael was determined to at least assist Rage in finding her pack. He had long decided that he would not return home, no- how could he? Cael was no warrior nor did he have any distinguished markings that esteemed greatness and power upon his hide from the ancients. There was nothing he could do to prove himself to his father or his pack. But runing away, departing and searching the lands for the place where he belonged, was his only option and, for now, it would be his way of life.
Shaking his fur sending droplets and water round about. He had to at least be dry for a minute! As his fur swayed and stood tapered about his body, Cael's ears perked upwards as the young wolfess spoke concerning her homes whereabouts.

His brows knitted in deep thought as his mind mused and rambled with slight recollections. Salt, he thought as he glanced towards the South. Oh, how could he forget that horrible smell! Though he had journeyed towards its shores, the ocean was never his favorite place but his love for nature and scenery still compelled him to great lengths to seek solitude regardless of the stench.

"That's towards the South; the ocean or something like that. I know where it is..." he grinned as he began padding towards a worn deer trail. "I think if we take this trail for a while we'll reach the ocean."

Ocean? Strange word... she thought as she began to pad over to Cael, tail swaying slighty behind her with each step. But she couldn't help but wonmder things in her mind.
Why did he wish to help her so much? Wouldn't he wish to get home too? Or was he not going home...so confusing it was. But should she question it? She shook her head outwardly though she didn't mean to, it would seem quite awkward, no, she would not ask, unless he talked about it or wished to talk about it.

They both seemed to be...or least things she HAD been in before, concerning markings and appearance. How odd it was for things to be absed around it, yet so accustomed she was to odd stares, it was interesting to find out how wolves in Cael's pack were looked at with pride if they had markings. But he did have some, on her forearms, in black.

She smiled and stood beside him, he seemed to know his way around, hopefully be able to help her get back.

Brillant, green eyes watched as Rage slowly padded towards him, her tail swaying behind her with a dainty grace as they would begin the long trek in search of her pack.
Cael was different than most wolves from his pack; never once did the young pup think of himself as, since anyone could remember, he held a tendancey to help others before ever helping himself. Cael didn't do it for praise or any reward whatsoever, he did it because there was an opportunity at hand to persue. His pack were those whose nature was brutish, blood thirsty and aggresive yet, with a passive pup roaming about the midsts of them, he'd only be a hinderance. Thus, the young pup set off to find somewhere he belonged, someplace new he could call home.

Shaking his head as several water droplets rolled down his muzzle and off his nose, he chuckled softly and peered over towards Rage with a warm smile.

"Let's go," he announced with an excited yip, his small body slowly moving with a steady pace as he padded stff-leggedly upon the long, weaving path ahead.

Rage started to pad behind him, following him through the winding path. The rain fell less heavily here due to the canopy of pine and maple branches hanging over them, though some continued to fall and dampen the already muddy ground. Amber eyes watched and kept focus on Cael, she hoped not to get lost again.
Nows your chance...he's not even looking..."She shook her head, what was that stupid thing...and what was it talking about now. He wouldn't even know what happened...go on, he'd just-Stop it!

She padded behind him quicker now, almost at his side she was. tail swaying behind her as her paws made imprints in the mud, the feeling awkward beneath her paws.

A light, rain drizzled breeze whisped against his fur and created small ripples against his fur. A light coldspell seemed to shiver down his spine, and, in attempt to still retain what warmth he could, he suppressed the chills and pressed onwards.
The mud underneath his feet squished and slipped through his toes in a sick, unnatural feeling. Mud...how he hated mud! Along with his horrible coordination, walking upon an unstrudy surface would be his downfall. Oh, but he'd surely be embarrassed if he tripped and fell into the mud when Rage was watching!

He'd have to be extra cautious now.

With the sudden sounds of quickly paced footfall, Cael watched from the corner of his eyes as Rage dashed at his side.

Why did she rush to walk beside him? He wasn't going anywhere anytime soon? His head tilted slightly with a curious gleam that radiated within them, questioning and wondering what had happend just them. But should he ask? Would it be rude to question her?

The corners of his mouth drew up in an unsure, baffled frown. No; best let a smile cross upon his maw and let her know that he was happy that she was at his side. With the final thought, he let a smile curl upon his maw as he continued padding aside her.

Rage watched as Cael seemed to be puzzled by her actions, but it was natural, she was indeed acting odd. However, not by her own choice. She continued to smile and pad alongside him, rain still falling now and then between the branches above. She almost slipped on the mudd-covered forest floor beneath her, but she caught ehr blaance just as she was to hit to squishy brown mess below her.
Though Cael interested her very much so. His pack sounded so interesting, fun too...in a strange sort of way. They had customs of warriors of markings and such, her old pack did as well. She wondered what the markings of the wolves of his pack looked like, if they related to that of Arguin's...

"Cael..." she asked sheepishly, amber eyes focused on him as she watched her footing as they continued along, the smell of the salty lake..ocean, was getting closer. "What do they look like...the other wolves..." she asked in a quiet tone.

She wondered if it was the right thing to do, ask such a question. She hoped he would not think of her as rude...it was nice to actually meet someone around her own age, and be able to just...talk.

His deep auburn-brown ears perked upwards as the young, black wolfess spoke and questioned about his pack. Cael had rarely spoken of his pack to those he knew not of but there was a sense of trust and a likeness between he and Rage that made him feel comfortable of speaking of such things. Yet to others, his pack was nothing but silent shadows that stalked the lands in search of dominance and conquest. It wasn't that they sought the blood of others as, in their reason, it was to find their foundation and build up a pack whose name would be remembered, feared and honored. But, thus far, the pack was only a band of brutes whose lineage was still shrouded by the ancients. Only the markings blessed upon the chosen ones fur fortold of what was to come.
Brilliant green eyes trailed towards her as a warm smile still inhabited upon his maw. Well, at least someone was inquiring about him and he could at least rid of some of the burdens that weighed upon his shoulder, right?

"My pack," he replied with a musing tone. "Many of the wolves have markings that portray greatness, strength and honor. Each marking is given by the ancients, our overseers and past warriors, who feel that an individual shall be blessed with a great destiny and will walk where the ancients once walked; upon the path of greatness. Their markings are alot like yours," he pointed with his right paw, his orbs studying them curiosly, "but many times they show mre design and reference to nature and are black or red; the two chosen colors of the ancients."

His tail fell behind him, swaying in a casual manner as he padded through the puddles of mud and rain that lathered the ground beneath. A strange feeling overcame him as thoughts and recollection of the family he had left behind bombarded his train of thought. Should he go back?

No, he thought as his snapped silently at such a mere idea. I won't go back, I don't belong there, he snorted with a silent remark.

Cael shook his head as several drops splattered upon his muzzle and caused a small chill to surge through his body. He was better off alone; he was free from the taunts of his pack and could live as he wished. Cael was now the master of his own destiny.

"You would be honored in my pack....the warriors would raise and teach you the traditions of the ancients," he commented with a minute sigh, his ears slumping back as he knew, oh he knew to well, that he could never be the son his father would of wanted. "My Dad would have loved to teach you the tactics of our pack."

Rage's ears twitched to the side for a moment, her tail swishing back and forth, Cael's pack sounded interesting. But there was a slight sadness in his tone which mad Rage worry and be slightly saddened as well. It seemed Cael wanted to be a great wolf, but because of hos he didn't have lavish markings, it would hold him back in his pack. His statement of Rage being loved in his pack surprised her, never before did she think she'd ever hear those words all together in one statement. Though his last statement about his father would have loved teaching her things, made her wonder...did his father look down on him because he didn't have the markings of the chosen ones in his pack?
"That is interesting yes, for this one to hear..." Rage stated, ears perking forward now, her walking closer to him now, eyes seeming to stare into nothingness ahead of her, "In my birthpack...I wasn't honored or respected, loved or taught by those in my pack, I was mostly hated..." She sighed slightly, though her mother and father had cared for her, even her sister and brother acted funny towards her many times. Told her to stay out of trouble.

"In my birthpack, everyone had natural colors or the forests grays, browns and whites. Those with markings such as I were feared because of the story of Arguin. He was said to watch over my home, protect us, and if any appeared with markings, they were feared for one, the suspicion that Arguin had passed away. And ones with darker markings such as I...would be feared...I was told that I'd be feared and bring about the end to my home..." her ears folded back adn lay against her skull, those stories and sayings seemed to be true of Rage...she had began to believe them in the back of her mind.

You see...go with him, to his pack...and become the darkness...become what you should be become- she shook her head. She cursed that voice in her head, and still didn't understand how it was there and what it wanted, she tried to ignore it now. Cael had been kind enough to tell his story, now she could tell part of hers, to try and lift the constant ache off of her heart.

"Only one truly liked me...though she's..." what should she say? Dead? Like all the others? What would Cael think of her, to know that everyone in her home was dead except her...he'd probably never want to see her again. "gone..." she continued, "her name was Nix, she was my best friend...but she's gone...like everyone else yes." Rage said, trying to act a little happy with telling about teh loss she had endured. But maybe Cael wouldn't realize that what Rage spoke of, was truly the deaths of her loved ones. It would be better for him to believe she was just separated from them...yes, that would do, for now at least...

"Interesting it is...how other packs have different ideals yes?" she said with a smile as she continued on with him. They would make it to the shore soon, she wondered if she could find her way back then. But then, would Cael leave?

The young pup gave a small nod as he glimpsed back towards the black and red tattooed female. But when Rage spoke of not being respected nor loved within her own pack, a baffled and shocked facial expression crossed upon his maw.
"How...how could they hate you? Why can't they see past your markings? Like..like I can."

His ears folded back slightly as a low whine escaped from his maw. He didn't understand! Why didn't it make sense to him? To be excluded and exhiled for ones appearance churned by fear was madness! Yet the beliefs and traditions of a pack were customs that could never be diverted nor changed. The fears that had been esteemed within a packs generations could not so easily be dismembered nor rebuked.

Cael silently nodded as Rage spoke once again, his eyes softened in a gaze as he pressed onwards towards their destination; the ocean. But it was the mention of someone 'gone' that made his ears perked upwards, catching his every attention. So, Cael was not the only one with a loved one whom had departed.

"My mother is gone...just like Nix," he commented with a mournful tone. "Dad says she passed away after I was born. He says she was strong and asked my Dad to help me be strong...but I'll have to do that on my own now."

Oh, how he wished he could recall what his mother looked like! The softened hues of her eyes, the assorting colors of her soft fur and her voice, oh how he wished to hear her voice! But those memories never existed, those were times he never knew. Only strange, shrouded dreams kept a waking image of her within his mind yet even such a blurred image couldn't complete the emptiness within his heart.

"It's...strange," he replied with a small smile.

As he pressed onwards padding through the forests, the towering trees and burly shrubs began dispersing and diminishing as the ground underneath began becoming composed of rocks and sparse grass. It was then that the horrible scent plundered all pleasurable scents and unleashed the overpowering scent of salt and other stenches about his nose and within the air.

His muzzle bunched up as a sickly expression spread across his maw, the pups small tongue lolling out in a displeasing expression.

"Ewww! That ocean smell!" He exclaimed as he bat the air around his nose with his paw. "We're close. Do you know the way, Rage?"

Rage's nose wrinkled up a bit as she stepped out from the forest seclusion out onto the golden dirt shore next to the ocean. No longer raining now the sun shown birhgtly overhead made the water light up in a greenish blue color. The waves lapped the shore as the wind blew gently off the top of the water.
Nix had been the only one who said she could see past the markings of crimson, no one else, her parents 'said' they did, but Rage's knew otherwise, they always looked after her frequently, which in her mind meant they didn't trust her wandering off alone. She always had to be with someone, even if it was just Nix.

A smile crept upon her maw, thinking that someone else could see her for who she was, not just what she was by appearance. But perhaps that would have been different if Cael had known the stories, but she wouldn't tell, not now. She liked being accepted by another.

Rage felt a bit saddened in hearing that Cael had lost his mother, both had undergone painful loss it seems, but Cael still had a father yes? And a pack to return to, Rage would never have that with her birthpack...not now. But she had Amelie, and Phib, and Mozelle, and the rest of the pack now. She had a new home, she was grateful for it.

Her tail swayed back and forth as the wind blew the sand around both of them, seeming to encircle both their beings at one time, one moment,
"I'm sorry..." Rage spoke softly, "losing many, or only losing one can affect one yes, but we can change, we can get better...in hopes that they would be proud..." she said trailing off. Perhaps she should've used a different word such as they, oh well, if Cael would ask, she would tell, thats how life goes.

"The way to where they are?" Rage asked, referring to Amelie and Phib. SUrely she'd be able to find one of them, or Amelie finding her, like she did not that long ago. "I think so..." she stated looking in one direction with amber eyes, trying to remember. Honestly though, she did not yet wish to leave, it was nice, just, having a friend to talk to, and hang around with...she didn't want to leave yet.

Cael padded slowly upon the strange ground underneath his paws. It was slightly hot and its texture was gritty as it clung between the gaps in his paws and around his legs as it stirred upwards and sunk within its unknown depths.
No matter how many times he padded across the sandy banks of the ocean, Cael never could stand the strange sensation of sand between his toes. Yet to be away from the taunts and scorns that his pack lashed against him and to be in the company of a newfound friend made the burdens and sorrows the weighed upon his heart dissapate into nothing. For once, Cael felt at ease.

A smile trailed across his maw as he peered out towards the crashing waves that rolled and washed upon the sand; its sounds were soothing and most welcomed as, for several moments, the young pup stood there with his eyes gently closed as his ears perked up in a relaxed state. Everything, all the emotions that tolled upon him and the shrouded aches within his soul seemed to drift away. This place, Rages packlands, made him feel...well- it was hard to describe but for the first time, Cael felt as if there was nothing that could stop him. In a way, he felt invicible.

The ill recollection of his pack faded from his mind as Rage spoke.

His eyes flickered opne as he turned to the black wolfess with a warm smile. "It's okay. Besides, trials make the heart stronger and this is only one of 'em. Someday I'll make it right, we'll make it right, one day."

It was strange to think that one day he would prove his pack wrong, that he would become the warrior that his father wanted him to be regardless of the presence of the blessed markings. But, somehow, he felt- no- he knew that it was possible yet it would take time.

His tail swayed merrily behind him as he began to pad slowly a few steps ahead of Rage, a rather excited grin spread wide across his maw. "Well, I'll walk you to where your pack is," he replied with an estatic yip.

"I wanna stay if that's okay...I don't have anywhere to go."

Rage nodded, Cael's words were quite true. As they walked along the shore, and their paws made imprints behind them, Rage smiled and knew that no matter what Cael's father had thought of him, he would indeed become stronger, a 'warrior' of type. Rage knew. Rage also wanted to be stronger, ever since she was a young pup, because of the strain on her heart and ache in her left hind paw it held her back, perhaps they could train and become stronger together.
"It would be nice for you to stay..." Rage answered honestly, tail swaying back and forth as they pressed on, she stopped though for a moment and sniffed the air, a familiar yet unusual scent catching her noce, yet she couldn't place it quite yet. "It would be very nice.. though you would have to speak with Phib to stay. I would like it if you stayed..." Rage said with a smile. She scooted closer to Cael wihtout realizing, a smile upon her maw, perhaps Phib or Amelie were close, and Cael could ask one or both in person. It would be nice for him to stay yes...nice to have a friend around.

 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From the bushes crimson eyes watched this pair, his dark fur blending in with the shadows of the underbrush. Malik and Rage had met breifly before...but who was this new pup? He was male...but not from teh pack. He had not seen or heard of him before...why was he here? And why was he with Rage?

Questions questions, hopefully to be answered sometime. But for now Malik would have to leave, perhaps try to go and find Phib, to chase this pup away maybe? No...too mean. But what to do? Something inside Malik didn't like the fact another male pup was aroundRage...

Scooting back slowly not making a sound Malik turned and then departed, to wander again no doubt. What would happen here though? Would this pup stay? so many questions, but no doubt to be answered sometime in teh future. With that thought, Malik disappeared into the woods to wander again.

A broad, slightly shocked, smile spread wide across his maw as his vibrant green eyes darted back towards the black wolfess with dire suprise. She- she would like it if he stayed? Cael couldn't help but grin and blush slightly as his tail wagged with pure joy.
Even without thinking, Cael drew closer to Rage as they continued casually strolling along the ocean shore. It was young love but, already, Cael felt as if he was falling head over heels within loves entwining grasp. He was only a pup yet the lingering emotions were begining to take him to new heights.

"I'd-I'd like to stay here...with you and your pack," he replied with a slightly shakey tone. His speech seemed to faulter as he still couldn't fathome what it would be like to be in a new pack. For once, just maybe, he'd be accepted and be able to develope himself into the son his father always yearned for him to become.

Padding side by side with Rage, Cael continued alongside her until an unfamiliar scent caught his attention. His ears perked upwards as his muzzle lifted slightly into the air, nostrils intaking the foreign scent deep.

There was another wolf lurking about.

The hairs upon his back bristled slightly yet no hackles nor growls emitted from his chest. Cael was wary yet he also had to keep reminding himself that he was in foreign territory. The watchful eyes that rested upon him could be another packmembers or those of a higher rank, an Alpha perhaps.

Strange feelings welted and stirred within him but, trying to keep the defensive nature within him, Cael put them at bay and continued on his way, letting the sensations and known presence of another roll off his back.

For now, his only focus was centered upon to objectives: Keeping a friendship with Rage and finding the Alpha.
