It was a rough day for the poor girl. The flight to LA was over 13hours, and then just four hours layover time until her six hour flight to Florida giving her barely enough time to grab a snack and make it through customs. Her condition made it hard for her to sleep very restfully on the airplanes, the pressure and movement caused her nausea to flaire up a few times and just generally make her uncomfortable.
When she arrived in Florida, a Feral Labs employee was waiting for her outside the checkpoint ready to take her to the facility immediately. He ushered her into a helicopter. The bumpy, cramped ride in the chopper was several long hours on itself, and when they landed, she appeared to be on some oil rig-like man-made structure in the middle of the sea. Land could be seen the far distance, a distance that would be covered with her by small boat.
Armed Feral Lab guards never left her side the whole time. When she finally reached shore on the land, they ushered into a Jeep and drove her to the large facility. The vegetation of tropical and the weather was crushingly humid. For a while it seemed like they would be dropping her in the middle of the jungle, but then the tall, grey complex came into view: Feral Labs written across the side.
The guards escorted her into the lobby. Waiting for her was a pleasant woman in a high-tech wheelchair. She had a blanket folded over her lap, but she wore a labcoat and red sweater on her top. Her hair was frizzy and pulled into a ponytail, and glasses sat upon the bridge of her freckled nose. When the doors opened behind the slight woman, Aubrey wheeled herself over (the chair was powered from a control panel on the armrest) and extended a hand. "Weclome Miss Tanaka!" A few IVs were professionally taped to her arm, the tubes mostly seemed to dissapear under the blanket in her lap. "Welcome to Feral Labs. My name is Dr. Aubrey Lockheart." A file labeled Tanaka, N - (Palmatogecko rangei) . rested on her lap.

So many places... Nerviousness flared in the girl's stomach, or nausia.. it all felt the same by now. Her mind ran with about a hundred thoughts, all the places she had run through to get this far... To some island. Initially she had been jittery for the job... Afterall, she could have still been fired and sent back. There was so much to be done in a short amount of time... However, now armed guards held her full attention. A sleepy haze filled her mind as she tried to place just why she would need guards... Armed guards. She couldn't honestly be that important...
The sight of the building was a releif, tired and nerve wracked she wanted nothing more than to get the to her boss and make the good impression she'd been playing over nad over in her mind on the way. A boss... How wonderful. Her nerviousness faded moreso as they stopped outside the building, a slight feeling of joy and hope as her hand fell onto her stomach. Everything would be better now...
She entered, initially suprised by her greeter's shape... her eyes trailed over the wheelchair, then onto the mysterious tubes. A look of concern flashed through her face before the introduction was able to shake it. She quickly smiled, giving a respectful duck of her head to this doctor, obviously someone important. Doctors tended to be so. "Aa.. Dr.Aubery sama." The add-on of respect slipped through the tired girl's mouth. "It is an honor to be here." Her english seemed fair, the words were right but her accent still shone through. She gave a quick fuss to her own hair, running her fingers over the black strands, hoping it still looked good from all of the travel.

"A pleasure, Miss Tanaka. You're here for the translator position, yes? Well, first things first, you have to be immunized and go through a quick little health inspection - a requirement for all new people on this facility. You'll have a few non-disclosure forms to sign as well, of course. But once we get that all out of the way, I'll have you taken to somewhere where you can some rest. I'm sure you've had a long flight."
Aubrey spoke as she led the girl to the set of elevators. They opened automatically as they got close, just as the main entrance doors did. No handles, probably weight sensors.
"Laboratory 4, please," Aubrey said to the elevator once they were in.

"Yes." she nodded, listning carefully to the words of the new woman. She'd give the occassional nod to show she understood, giving a light smile at the mention of the flight's length. "Thankyou."
As she followed and listened she inwardly marvled at the sights of the building. Working in an old fasion shrine, she'd hardly ever seen anything so complex... She slipped into the elevator. Staring wideeyed at the doors with a mind of their own. She had seen automatic doors, that was fairly common when they travled to the city... But an elevator, not so much. And then for it to respond on voice command was even more facinating.
She stayed silent as the elevator took off, once agian her mind racing over the experiences of the last week. The suprise, a birthday, the acceptance letter, the flight, helicopters and jungle islands... and now this building. She began to wonder if maybe she had fallen asleep on the plane and this place was all a dream.

The woman was quiet and polite, something not unusual for Japanese women, Aubrey noticed. She smiled and nodded, leading the woman into the labs.
"Just have a seat," she said, motioning to the examination table.
Aubrey flipped open the file in her lap to get the serum number. She found it and wheeled over to a panel in the wall. She placed her thumb on the reader and the panal opened. The hiss of air must of meant the stroage cabinet was vaccum sealed. In the cabinent was a whole selection of vials of strangely colored liquid, each one labeled with a numerical code.
Aubrey found the matching code from the file and pulled out the vial. She closed the panel then pulled out a syringe and alcohol swap from a supply drawer.
She was glacing over the file on her way back to the woman when she stopped suddenly, her eyes going wide. She looked between the file and the woman a few times, disbelief in her eyes. "Miss Tanaka, you're pregnant?"

Natsumi nodded, settling herself in the seat. Hands folded in her lap as she watched the actions go forth before her. Curious vials... but she had said medical. So, the young woman thought nothign of it. Some vaccination, perhaps for some jungle flu in the area. Who knew.
She shifted uncomfortably at the sight of the needle, trying to hold back a childish look of distaste to the shot. Her heart then lept into her throat, eyes widened and her face flushed a bright red. How on earth did they find out? She didn't recall telling anyone... "I..." she stuttered, eye contact breaking quickly and locking her eyes to the floor. "I... am." Her voice wavered towards the end, still wondering how it had gotten out... was it that obvious? What if her parents knew...? She gulped, placing her hands over her stomach as though it would hide her "shame."

Aubrey realized what that might look like, how shocked and rude she must sound. "I'm sorry, I just surprised, thats all. No one mentioned to me... your flight must have been horrible. Can I get you anything how are you feeling?"

Natsumi shook her head to the womans apologies, "No... Please." she flushed even more at the sudden attention. "Please. I am fine." She felt like melting into a puddle of goo, the woman shouldn't have been kind to her at such a thing... But, Natsumi couldn't simply disrespect the woman by refusing the hospitality. That would be even worse.
She tried to pry her eyes up from the floor, moving them onto the desk. A side glance of the vial in the woman's hand offered a plan of excape, and Natsumi quickly took it. Refusing eye contact now, as this woman was surely purer than herself, she raised her right arm. Extending it foreward so the underside of the elbow came upright. "That is good?" she questioned her arms position hopefully.

Aubrey simply stared at the woman's offered arm. She reread the file, the color completely leaving her face. She looked very flustered - almost like she was abuot to cry. She went to withdrawl the serum into the syringe, but found her hands to be shaking.
Aubrey forced a smile. "Excuse me a moment." Quickly as she could, Aubrey dropped the full syringe to her lap and wheeled herself out side the lab.
Closing the door and slamming the buttom that caused a video of the room inside to display on a panel next to the door Aubrey pulled out her communicator and tried to reach Moreau.
No use.
"Goddamit," she mumbled herself, hitting Sabin's code.

"Dr. Duvert." The voice in a more professional than usual for the eccentric professor doctor called through almost immediately after the buzz.
"How can I help you Aubrey?" He continued as he noted the number that it was coming from. Sabin had been being quite careful since his reinstatement, heading almost immediately to the labs to do a LOT of catchup work with his research team to find out what he had been missing out on. And there was a lot of it. Fascinating material on the behavioral studies gleaned from what Sabin learned had been a test of the feral serums that had been only in development when he was booted had yielded some fascinating and useful results.

Aubrey's voice was low and pleading. "I need you in Lab 4 immediately. Drop whatever you're doing and get down here. I need your assistance." She clipped the phone closed without letting him question her.

Sabin opened and closed his mouth in surprise, but obligation to the woman and curiousity hastened him to do just that. He closed the file he was reading, and headed out of the lab with brief instructions to his team (he was a little annoyed about the transfer of some of them who had gotten used to the way he ran things, but the new additions to take their place seemed competent enough, and he had got them up to speed with his particular projects and what he expected).
A few moments later Sabin stepped out of the elevators and walked over to Aubrey with a curious look. He was dressed in a pair of dark slacks, light shirt and vest, his tangled hair mostly wrangled into a ponytail that sat at the nape of his neck. "What's up? It sounded important."

"I can't do it." Aubrey looked distinctly shaken. "I just, please... can you?" Aubrey held out a file and a filled syringe to Sabin.

Sabin's brows furrowed in confusion as he took a vial of serum and a file. Before looking at the file he looked over to the moniter that showed a small, meek-looking Asian woman looking confused and a bit nervous. The label on the file named her a Natsumi Tanaka - Japanse then - and to be assigned a sort of Gecko serum by the sound of it. Perhaps not the kindest of assignments, but turning women into reptiles and amphibians seemed to be the norm on the Island for some reason.
Had Aubrey not administered a woman a reptile serum before? Moreau seemed to mostly be responsible for those assignments. Or perhaps her brush with death had left the woman with a rejuvenated sense of morals? "Ahm... sure, I suppose. Is there a problem?" He looked over to the wheelchair-bound brunette.

Aubrey reached up with a bit of difficulty from her chair, opening the file and pointed to a highlighted section in the "special research notes" section of the Feral Lab experiment report. Her expression was terse and her eyes shiney from er emotional state.
