My favourite hangout place though would have to be...

Hehehe...I bought the Anvil house for the quest and was so disappointed when I couldn't...um...redecorate the basement..never did finish the quest, it's too creepy!
But I bought the one in Bruma and paid for all the furnishings with my Dark Brotherhood earnings. ^_^ It's where I store the bodies-- I mean, uh...

twisted Arch-Mage's tower of the Arcane University. heart heart heart *has done every Mages Guild quest and is sad that there isn't any more*
Though I'd like to purchase a house in either Cheydinhal or Skingrad...but I'll need lots of teh moneys for that. sweatdrop

Sivalion++Arenhart ...but I can't find where to buy houses. There are stables by every big city place. Go in, talk to the person, and you'll be able to buy a horse.
Though--I think you should just do the DB quests and get the horse that they give you.
