Kazi smiled gently and lowered his head to they could see his face without having to look up. "So you're a rogue? I see...it might do you some good to stay here. The pridelands are a great place to grow up." He smiled at her and turned his attention to the young male cub. "Jini, what exactly are you doing near the borders of the lands? Your parents would be worried if they knew you were wandering around here." He tilted his head and chuckled amusedly at the young cub's attempt at an adventure.

User ImageThe term rogue had come from the male's mouth with no dislike or anger. It had surprised her that this strange male had taken to her poor life so calmly. It seemed many of the stories she had overheard had been overexagerations of the truth. These two pridelanders seemed perfectly trustworthy and as the group spoke quietly with one another, she felt herself becoming a bit less tense. When he suggested she live there, she felt her feet grow slightly ridgid as if it strained her to remain still, "...I couldn't stay here... i'm not welcome.." was all she said, her voice still low and quiet compared to the others. Although it was Kazi who had suggested she stay, she knew there were many others who would more than likely disaprove of her joining their group.

Kazi smiled gently and lifted a paw, touching her forhead with amusement. "Don't disregard the suggestion before actually asking if you could stay," he said. "Ask the king or queen if you can stay. You never know if they'll say yes or not." He sighed and looked down at the male cub who seemed to quiet down for some reason. "I was once a rogue too...this was my old home, and now I've simply come back to stay."

Jini grinned stupidly at her returned compliment, "T-thanks..." He then continued to stumble over his words with a smile as if it was normal for him to be acting so silly. Well...he wasn't the smoothest of lions, but it was cute none the less, "Uh...well...you see...mom...er...well Dad might be a little concerned but...I don't think mom will mind...uh...me and sis wander off all the time..." He trailed off as if he wasn't sure how to explain.

He then blinked in surprise when she siad she didn't think she could stay. He jumped into the conversation, looking dismayed, "No! I'm sure they'd let you stay...erm...everyone's very nice...mom and dad said they weren't from here....they told me they came here from far away and just asked to stay....and it was ok...they said lots of people do it..." His enthusiasm faded as he faded off awkwardly.

(( xd Jini is adorable. x] ))

Kazi laughed and patted the male cub's head lightly with his paw, even amused more so at his odd exlanation. "Don't hurt yourself kid..." he said jokingly while watching the 2 cubs. It was odd how the only other cub he ever remembered spending much time with before was his sister, and after she was gone he only ever spent time with much older lions, as well as other animals. He turned to Shiri and nodded in agreement with Jini's statement. "Mufasa and Sarabi are really nice people, so if you ask nicely enough they'll more than likely let you stay. Besides, you're still a cub. You shouldn't be wandering out into the dangerous parts all by your lonesome." Kazi held a knowing tone in his voice, reason being that he had only been a cub when he left his pride, and he hated thinking about another cub having a life that was as hard as his.

User ImageShiri shivered at the touch of the male's paw on her forehead and though she meant no disrespect from it, she couldn't help but inch back a bit. The company was so new to the femme she almost was not sure of how to act in their presense and was certainly not used to being touched or complimented. As Kazi spoke to her, she listened carefully to his words and then added, "...but I wouldn't feel like I belong..." But before the young femme could say anything else, she caught onto what Kazi had finished saying, "Y-you were once a rogue as well?" The news seemed to cause her lime colored eyes to light up with curiosity. How could he have went from a lonesome rogue to a pleased adult male lion, comofortable in the presense of others? Shiri couldn't imagine that same fat for herself.

Though Shiri was still excited about Kazi's news, she was surprised by what Jini had said, "What do you mean? Why would strangers feel welcome here?" Her words sounded so strange to be said by a lioness of her age, but the naivety came from years of living on her own. Shiri knew nothing more than the quiet life she lived on her own, scavenging for food and trying her best not to starve. Female lions were best at hunting, but with no past tutors, the young lady was quite poor at it.

Jini smiled sheepishly and took a couple of breaths to "collect" himself...if you could call it that. He looked at Shiri in concern, "But...you'd belong! There are lots of nice cubs around to be your friend...and everyone's real nice...why wouldn't anyone feel welcome? People don't fight others here...though mom can be rough with dad but she loves him so thats different...erm....yeah..." Words failed him again. Well, so much for being more tactful this time. Poor guy just kinda splurged out what his heart told him and then felt awkward for it. At least he didn't stop smiling...otherwise he might have seemed rather gloomy. Optismism fit him much better.

Kazi nodded again at Jini's statement, though chuckled as the young cub came to yet another loss for words. "It's more fun when you're growing up with other cubs," he stated. "And yes, I was a rogue. I only got here 2 days ago, and I spent that time healing from an injury." He glanced at his leg and grumbled something indistinctly. "Anyway, you ought to give it some more though. Maybe Jini here could help you out." The lion smiled again and rolled onto his back, yawning in the process while beginning to paw at a bug that hovered above his body.

User ImageShiri had begun to expect both lions to offer simple, short answers and so did so in return. When Jini began to speak again, she wondered when he would quiet down. Answer after answer was given to Shiri and quickly her ears lowered and she listened, with her form close to the ground. It may have been too much for the young lioness to gather, or it may have been that she could not think of an answer to give him. How could she explain her feelings to the small cub that had nearly everything? He had more than he knew and Shiri, having grown wiser with her time to herself, did not feel it was her place to say this. Once Jini had finished, Shiri looked up shyly and smiled, "...That makes sense.. but this still isn't my home..."

Although Shiri was still not too fond about the idea of staying there, she did think staying with both Kazi and Jini seemed like the best idea. It had been so frightening for her to meet new lions and begin to trust them, she was not quite ready to go about meeting more, "..for now.. can I just stay with you too?" Shiri had taken a chance to ask this question and she knew if she could not, she would need to leave.

Kazi heard her question and rolled onto his stomach again, shaking the leaves and whatnot from his mane. "As of yet, I haven't found out if I can actually stay, but if I can, you can stay with me." He had a small smile on his face, a calm, reassuring look that seemed to always hover about him whenever he was around younger lions. "Jini, would it be alright if she stayed with you?" he asked the young male. Kazi wouldn't be able to take care of her in his condition, and she looked as though she needed to eat something sometime soon.

User ImageShiri was glad to hear Kazi's offer, though still she was not fully satisfied. It would be a wonderful feeling to have a place to call her home, but the rogue blood on her veins would not allow her to remain in one place for too long. She was young and still impressionable, but at this moment she still wished to flee. Her mind had been programmed to run, scavenge and hope to her life to reach the next day. When Kazi continued, Shiri's pale green eyes looked towards the younger of the two male lions. Kazi had asked whether or not she could stay with Jini, though the femme was certain that would be out of the question. Jini had a family and Shiri would belong even less in the family of another, let alone in their pride. With a shake of her head, she quickly scattered all hopes of remaining at the pridelands, "..I can't stay. I am thankful for your offers though!"

It was correct to say that Jini didn't understand her way of thinking. If life was so hard on her own then why would she avoid staying here? It didn't make sense. It was as if she'd rather be alone and suffer but...why would anyone want that? He didn't get it at all. He was about to answer the older male lion that he was sure it'd be alright, when she refused.

He stared at her, dismayed. "W-why not...? It's not as if no one would want you here! Everyone's really friendly and its so nice here..." He stammered, trying to figure out why she wouldn't want to remain in the pridelands. His ears flickered back slightly, "I...erm...know you might not like me enough to stay with me but...that doesn't mean you have to leave..."

User ImageShiri could see the confusion on Jini's face when she had declined their offer and sadly, she understood the fact that they could not comprehend her feelings. Kazi was more likely to understand her, but then how could he so suddenly accept life as a pridelander? Had they not cast out many rogues and left their own kind to starve outside their pridelands? If their pride had been as wonderful as she had been told by these two, why hadn't they aimed to help those in need!

Shiri felt her eyes water slightly as she pulled back from the two. Jini's words were stammered and it seemed he was having a difficult time speaking to Shiri. It was obvious that she had both confused the young cub as well as upset him. Why wouldn't she stay? He felt herself asking the same question within her mind. She wasn't sure, but she could not bring herself to do it. It was very possible that dispite the fact that she was alone and lonely, she could not bring herself to depend on someone else. She was a very independent young lioness.

Smiling faintly and looking between the two, Shiri spoke quietly, "...It was great meeting you two, but I must be off now..." And as quickly as she had met the two, the small lioness took off, away from the pridelands, warm tears sliding down her cheeks...
