I really dunno. @.@
All I know is that my mom LOVES Obscure and Drain Away.
xDDD
Well, one of the first songs I showed my mom was The Final, but she had nothing to say about it...>.>;
And she also kinda likes Embryo (Single) ^^

I think it's best to let her listen to both the lighter songs like YOKAN and AKURO NO OKA and the heavier ones like Saku and Obscure just to see if there are some songs she may like and some she may not, and to let her know that while it's not all screaming and macabre and death (unless you translate the lyrics... xd ), it's certainly not all rainbows and sunshine either.

Personally, my parents would never, ever like Diru. My dad listened to one song on his own (I have no idea what one, it was on GAUZE) and declared that it sounded like a sewer backing up, and my mom hates 97% of what I listen to, guaranteed, so I would NEVER let her listen to Dir en grey. She got a headache listening to My Chemical Romance, I'd hate to think what Kyo-kun would do to her poor brain.

My dad's seen the PV for Jealous before, and he sorta made some random half-joking comment and left the room, shaking his head and chuckling to himself about "the kinds of things listen to".

My mom would probably ban me from the computer and my iPod if she ever saw any PV for a heavier song (like, oh, Obscure for instance), considering I got a lecture when she heard a SoaD song I had on. confused

i think drain away was a really toned down pv and it's a nice song so might try that w/ her......but the one thing i don't recommend is showing her KR Cube w/ all its pimping and whoring. xd

My mom's the one that got ME into Diru.. >_>... with Myaku.

I adore the "a-akaku a-amaku"

BUT... anything from Gauze won't hurt, I'm sure.

I second on the parent thing. Not that they've seen any PVs (otherwise I wouldn't be allowed to use the computer for the rest of my life), but my mother has heard Kasumi before, and also Kodou, both while I wasn't aware she was listening - she's paranoid I might be getting depression. So I make a mental note to only listen to Gackt around her. She can handle him.

Dad...he doesn't bother. He doesn't mind me listening to Japanese rock, as long as he knows I have all the lyrics (and I do) and know what they mean, and as long as I don't fail at school from listening to it too often.

I want my dad to get into Diru, i KNOW hed like it, hes into that kind of thing...its just he dislikes the japanese alot D: so he wont listen becuase of that. See if dad liked them, id be fun, we could go to the concerts and funk to them and he would stp flamming them.....but im also worried, if he read the english, hed ban it for sure, and eevn if he didnt my mom sure would D: mostly becuase my sis is a fan too, whos 11, i doubt my mom'd be very hot on Kyos writting, all the blood/gore/nekkidness/etc ._.

But my mom thinks MYVs ok xD she likes 2 of his songs so far~ i play the nice/calm ones to her...and shes all 'its not bad' and Senor Senora Senorita got a 'I like this, who is it??' but i was all 'Meevy<33' and shes all oh '*wont listen again' DD: and my dad has listened to a few diru songs with me, and he let me put all the albums (minus Kai) on his mp3...so i dunno? D:

I wish I could get my family/friends into diru
They just roll their eyes at me and think it's just a phase I'm going through.
D'':

I usually play diru on top volume when my mum's in the bathroom >.>
The only song that she liked was one by Silverash. xp

-Blind Imagination-
I know one song that you shouldn't let her listen to! *coughBERRYcough* haha

Hahaha! XD

I (loke others) would suggest songs like Cage, Yokan, Kasumi, Anber, Sanjou Mo Uta, Hotarubi...

What about Garden, I remember that PV, it didn't seem bad at all... as long as she goesn't mind the whole, guys in womans clothing thing... whee

Nodoka Kaosu
Something softer than normal, with less screaming?

I'm dying to get my mom to get into Dir en grey, but not sure what song to go about with it.

Any suggestions?

Well obviously as many have said before me you want something soft....when she starts to build up a liking for them start working your way to more aggressive stuff. This would be my suggestion..
The Final,Kodou, Kasumi,Yokan,Embryo, when she starts to like em a bit more try Child Prey Myaku....and then finally whens shes knee deep in Diru love just very gently"break" songs like Merciless Cult,Saku, and Obscure to her.

My mom pertty much dislikes everything I like XD; but she thought Mushi was okay. My dad only seems like to Audrey.
Most people like Yokan and Kasumi aswell, so yeah.. just pick a rather 'soft' song who people can relate to, because if you would start of with Saku or something I can imagine her thinking they're awfull XD.

Yaryar xD my sis is like superscareyleet~ She has a scarey obbession with Kyo~ I let her read most of the lyrics...but not all of them, like FILTH Pink Killer etc, the ones with the more 'older' language if you get me, id rather she not knwo till shes older...

Alright...on the Code of Vulgar[ism] DVD, disc two starts off with a 15ish minutes scene of a blindfolded girl being videotaped, tied up, in her underwear, on a chair. And her..wiggling around the room and eating scraps of food out of a pie tin.. sweatdrop User Image
(I didn't expect they'd do something like that)
..Mum comes in and sees it.. >_>

Then a bunch of other songs from the tour were played, (Kyo was sortof
particularly aggressive >.> and most of the songs were just screaming songs.)

She was was there for those aswell. :X

"...So you call this music?"
"..Eheh...well...it's live and stuff..so like it's not the best stuff to introduce you to.." >_> <_<

Oh, does anyone have that G.D.S song?
