Gavin began to shake slightly as he peered over the edge of the platform, then, very slowly and carefully, he sat down in the middle, nearby the droidling. He then braced himself tightly, hugging his knees. He glanced at the partly-modded fellow and then reached voer and gently patted him on his non-modded shoulder. "Trust me, young man, this is one place you should be glad not to see. I -wish- I had cataracts right now..." the old man mumbled, a faint hint at humor to try and keep the others' spirits up.

The two young furs sat down with the other three and held onto eachother tightly, looking around with amazement at the metallic chamber, particularly at the glowing tubes. A larger spark from the electronics nearby made Kilu jump slightly.

The droid messaged again: "Now brace yourselves. This platform was meant for Bions and Droids, not generic lifeforms. As such, it moves as efficiently and..." it paused as the door closed again and the platform shook slightly. Some clamps detached from the walling. "...quickly."

Almost immediately the platform plummeted downward at an.... uncomfortable speed, to put it lightly.

Sevic smiled slightly at the old mans gensture, laughing quietly. "Yes.. I remember this place when I was brought in... I guess your right about that.." Just when he was about to say something else, the droid spoke up... Then the platform began to move.

"Hold on." He muttered. Modified arm moved to grip the low railing tightly, to hold himself steady... It was actually rather easy for him, he had the strength to do so, and with his current vision, the motion didn't make him sick.

"Ladies and Gentlemen. Please fasten your seatbelts. Move your seats into the upright position and close any trays that may be open." Sevic joked, laughing quietly again. He was actually quite enjoying this.

He actually remembered being dragged into this Hell-hole? Eleri figured he must be quite unlucky to actually remember it all. This was the first time she had seen anything other than the white of the room. Perhaps she had indeed put up quite a fight way back then.

Yet, before she could think on it anymore, the bot spoke and the platform moved-- well, rather dropped towards the bottom.

Oh good God!

The feeling was absolutely horrendous, like having your stomach come up into your throat while your brain compressed itself. Simply not fun. Eleri forced herself to close her eyes, not being able to stand watching everything whizz by, her knuckles turning white because of her grip on the railing.

Finally the platform began to slow down steadily, then it came to a sudden, dramatic halt on floor 45. The latches quickly maneuvered into place with a grinding sound, followed by a loud clank. The door swooshed open and the droid hurried through, to make sure it was safe.

The... landing had so jarred the passengers that a few were... out of place. For instance, Kilu had somehow been bounced into the arms of... not his lover, but the old man. He meeped softly and stood up sheepishly, then dusted himself off and helped both Gavin and Aleya.

After making sure the coast was clear, the droidling returned and messaged for them to follow, then turned down a very similar hallway to the left.

Sometimes, some songs will be composed just so that, at a certain point, the audience thinks the song has ended. Obviously, they begin to applaude, before the song starts up again. When they're wrong, it's almost embarrassing, like they had been eager to see the end of the song. Conductors and composers often like to call that a 'false ending', and some quite love to trick the audience as such.

Well, a false stop is similar in a sense, often especially in the 'embarrassing' aspect. And some people love the trick of it.

Eleri was definately not one of those people at the moment.

See, she had thought that the platform was going to slow to a nice, gentle stop. Sadly, the girl was quite mistaken. Eleri had stood up far too early, and the sudden halt caused her too lose her balance, tossing her into the arms of the person she would have loved to stay far away from: Sevic. So she did what any frightened, startled girl would do.

Eleri screamed.

Probably a fair bit louder than she should have, too, and certainly more than what was likely safe. At least she managed to stumble out of his arms as well and back towards the rail, her cheeks bright red with embarrassment as she clutched onto the small bar that had become her safeguard.

Poor Eleri had become a victim of the menace known as a 'False Stop'.

Sevic hadn't been lured into the false stop, he stayed perfect still, grinning like a fool as he watched those around him.

"Down and down we go... When we stop, only the droid knows" Sevic was speaking quietly.

Then, when he felt some fall into his lap, head tilted and looked to her.

Scream... That hurt...

He shifted quickly, crawling after her to place his 'human hand' over her mouth, shaking his head quickly. "Shhh! There is no need to be scared of me! It's the enemy you gotta be worried about... You can scream all you want another time, but not right now." He slowly pulled his hand away, patted her on the head, then stood up.

"And to think... If I was still a normal person, you'd be crawling all over me, and you know it." He laughed quietly and moved next to the doorway, then out, to follow the droid.

"You know, my little friend," He was referring to the droid. "That girl is going to get us in a lot of trouble... She needs a mute button." He grinned.

The old man winced as the girl started to let out her scream, but was greatful when Sevic hushed her. He didn't like loud sounds, and especially didn't need them now that he was recovering from what fealt like a brief heart-attack during the sudden plummet down the shaft.

He shakily got to his feet with the help of Kilu and Aleya, then followed the others down the hallway. He looked over at Sevic briefly, just observing him, as if trying to figure out what was going on in his head, then he turned back to facing forward, and started trying to make idle conversation to ease his nerves... though he kept it to a hushed whisper to avoid detection. "You seemed pretty calm on that, er... elevator back there. I take it you're not afraid of heights, eh? Hehe..." He chuckled nervously, constantly glancing at the doors they passed, expecting for one to open any moment and some Bion guards to pop out and ambush them.

Certainly it didn't help for him to silence her in the manner that he had, and it definately didn't comfort her for him to poke fun. Not only was she red with humiliation, now she was seething with fury too.

Never. Never ever, ever, ever, ever, ever again would she even look at that-- that thing!

Right about now she would love to 'trip' over the rail, were it not a stupid idea.

Needless to say, Eleri was the last one to leave the elevator-type platform and took up the back of the line. She wasn't going to go anywhere within five feet of the half-borg if she could help it. Hell, she was even staying a good three feet away from everyone else.

If freedom meant that Eleri had to stay with this group, especially the half-borg, she wasn't sure she wanted it anymore.

Damn it all. Damn it all to Hell.

Sevic yawned quietly as he followed the little droid, eyes moving from side to side to watch the doors, waiting. Then, the old man spoke, so he slowed down a bit till he was walking along side him.

"I used to be terrified of heights.. But after you've been through what I have..." He shrugged. "Maybe it's what they have done to me... Or maybe it's just that I've gone damn crazy, but it was actually quite fun." He grinned.

He turned his head back to look at the girl, a slight frown crossing his lips. "I upset the girl... Damn, where are gifts when you need them." He turned around and began to walk backwards, still next to the old man. Hand moved up to wave her closer, trying to get her to walk with the group.

"Come now... Don't be upset with me. My humor should be proof now that I'm not just a machine. So why don't you join us for now, put up with me for a little bit... Then later we can work out a way for you to at least stand to be around me... Deal?" The entire time his voice was hushed, but enough to reach her.... It was a quiet hall. Other than the sound of steps and clanking of the little bot.

Gavin glanced back at Sevic, then nodded sympathetically. "I can only imagine." He shot a look back at Eleri, then sighed and shook his head. "Don't worry, she'll come around. I'd suggest just letting her calm down some in the meantime."

The droidling suddenly stopped and stood in place, one of its legs raised halfway. Then two small slots on the top opened and two tiny cylindrical things popped out. It quickly messaged, without voice, for them to stay quiet and stay put until it came back.

It sped down the hall rapidly, then there were several bright red flashes and the sound of blasters being fired. A few minutes later, the droidling hurried back and hastily messaged them again, this time with the voice activated again. "Guard supply room located. Hurry, not much time. Alarms activated."

Sevic sighed when he got no responce, slowly shaking his head and turning around. He nodded slightly to Gavin, then moved up to right behind the small bot.... Then, it stopped, and sped off. His head tilted slightly, left arm moving forward, prepared to defend if need be.

But then, the bot returned, telling them to hurry. "Don't need to tell me twice." He moved quickly, not running, but still very fast. He had moved into the room that had been noted as the supply room. Here he looked around, grin crossing his lips as he waited for the others.

"First floor... Shiny things and stuff that goes boom... And my-oh-my... I didn't bring any money...."

Alright, sure her tactics were rather, well.. immature, but that didn't mean they wouldn't work! He seemed to be leaving her be, which was exactly what she wanted. Ignoring him wouldn't work for eternity, though.

Then and again, women couldn't stay mad forever... right?

Eleri didn't even need to be told once to quicken the pace. She did as instructed, coming upon the supply room with much curiousity. Weapons weren't exactly her thing, but whatever helped them get out of this place was welcome.

"So, what are we supposed to grab?" the girl questioned, figuring the voice behind the bot might want them to only take certain items as part of their payment for freedom. Or something like that.

The doorway to the supply room was about twice as big as the other doorways, and fully circular, rather than elliptical. Inside there were a couple pods that had apparently been deactivated, and contained several turned-off guards. On one side of the room, there were several shelves of various weapons, each type carefully organized into clusters on a revolving rack. Some were far too big and heavy looking to be carried by a normal sized person, and others seemed to only hook into various sockets on a Bion. But there were a few small hand-blasters.

On the other side of the room, there was a table with stacks of metal plates in various sizes and shapes. Obviously, Bions could attach it to themselves quickly and efficiently, but the armor was apparently not suitable for mere humans and furs. Luckily, though, the droidling found soemthing else that might be useful. It was rummaging in a bin in the corner, with several small sphereoid objects floating over it. It had engaged some sort of anti-gravity lifting device on its back.

"These are shield devices. Attach them to yourself somehow or hold them at chest-height when you need it, then press the indentation on both sides at the same time to engage a forcefield. The field will encompass an area of about 10 feet in diameter, and will fuse with any other friendly shields nearby. I linked all of your shields together. Beware they have limited power, though, so only use them when absolutely neccessary. And do NOT touch the field! It will prevent -any-thing from getting through, if you catch my meaning. Now, let us hurry. Gather a small weapon or two, a shield orb, and regroup out in the hall."

Sevic looked to the girl, then the others as the entered. He had a grin on his face that could only be explained as a kid in a candy store. So, he did what anyone like him would do, he moved to the big guns. After looking through them for a moment he placed his mech arm on a decent sized one. "Ohh... Now you... You I like." He lifted it wit ha slight grunt, lifting it up and down to test its weight. "Heavy... But workable."

He set the weapon back on the table and moved to grab ammo... Satchels of it everwhere... But he found a decent one, which had a couple of cartridges missing. The one he took and slung it over his neck and shoulder. Moving to the hand blasters he grabbed one, setting it carefully in the bag and moving back to the rail gun.

"Big bang," He whispered. "Forgive me if I am going overboard... I just can't contain my excitement when it comes to guns." He laughed. Here he grabbed the rail gun again, with his mech arm, lifting it up and raising it to rest on his shoulder. After that he moved to the little droid and grabbed one of the objects.

"Aww, come now.. What is the fun of war without a bit of shrapnel?" Lucky he had computer ports on his chest.. Unfuctional, but one of them worked for 'holding' the shield generator... It's not what it was designed for, but it worked.

"My good male friends... Mine is now officially bigger than yours." He grinned and turned to look at everyone else. Maybe he would look like the fool preparing for war, or perhaps he was just a little crazy.... Either way, he didn't care.

Shield devices? Yeah, Eleri was definately going for one of those first. Gingerly she plucked one from the air around the droidling, rolling it around in her hands as she inspected it. Best not to test it out yet..

However, she didn't have a place to put it. Their drab outfits didn't have pockets. Of course, they probably assumed the people put here wouldn't need pockets. Eleri, with a sigh, opted to just hold the thing in her palm.

Glancing at the half-borg, Eleri quivered at his love for weaponry. Wasn't his bionic arm enough? Whatever the case, he was sure as hell gaining a lot more 'creepy points' with every passing moment. Unlike Sevic, Eleri chose simplicity, grabbing only one of the hand-blasters.

Shaking her head at his comment, she headed towards the hallway, gun in one hand and shield in the other.
