I really don't mean to be a bother....I apologize if I am....but I have to interject about the "no non-traditional art" rule....or at least suggest a minor amendment to it. I plead my case saying that art created on the computer, no matter what program you choose, is still in it's purest form art. I believe that as long as it has been created by hand, using solely tools to create a piece of work that is NOT just a bunch of pictures montaged or modified in some way, it counts as traditional. So why can't we post it in this monument to masterpieces?
I mean who says when paint or charcoal was discovered that it wasn't traditional? Just because it was new doesn't mean it's an unacceptable way to express feelings and ideas. Some of my best pieces were CGed, not because some tools make CG easier, but because I practiced enough on canvas and wanted to take a break from the over-used norm. I'm really sorry I'm on a rant here, but PLEASE consider this. I'm not mocking "traditional" art at all...I'm just dying to point out that CG is also traditional, and deserves every right to be regarded as so. I want to post my computer pieces without mock or ridicule. So forgive me, but I hope my point has been made clear.

the point of this guild is to escape from the CG community that seems to be such a big trend right now. there are many artists in this guild who are both CG and traditional artists, myself included. we chose to post in this guild because we feel that there isn't enough attention put on traditional art forms, in other words, art that are not done through a computer screen.
however, if you browse through this guild, you will find one place that you are allowed to post and discuss CG art.
as for the definition of "traditional", there are many new ways to make art that are still considered traditional art because the term "traditional art" is just a generalized word for anything non-CG, which includes painting, drawing sculpture, print, etc, just like how "CG" meaning computer graphics is just a generalized word for any form of art done on the computer. going by your definition, there wouldn't be a point in coining the term "traditional art" because then everything would be traditional art.
and no offense taken, and hopefully none given. we were both trying to defend our own ideas and believes, which is healthy for both of us, so long as we don't try to kill each other.

stare *shifty eyes* I don't want to kill you. Just kidding. I don't dig killing, it's not right. I twill follow the rules, sorry for the disruption of the piece. I'll have to find a new canvas for now.
