Fantasy Moon One of my friends was over this weekend and I found him scoping out my book collection for potential future borrowing once he feels like reading again. I've become a library! blaugh Isn't that a cool feeling? I love it when people come to me for books. I have two other book-loving friends, and we all trade books around. Of course, now that I'm moving, I guess we'll have to start mailing them. wink

I don't usually show off my books. Not because I'm not proud of them, but because I don't want to bore those of my friends who aren't into books (and I do have a few friends like that). But those of my friends who love books borrow mine all the time.

I have more manga than regular books too, but I do not have a big room anymore (I just moved) so I can't have both a large book and manga collection.
I have had to sell a lot of books too 'cause my mom gets all pissy if I have a ton of books on the floor. I do get a bit of revenge for making me sell my I books by raiding her stuff for books to sell as well.
I do have a large collection of books in my other house (I haven't completely moved yet) but I will be forced to sell a lot of those too, but I will probably end up using the money I get from that to buy manga since my mom will buy me regular books. (We have worked out this deal or sorts where she'll buy me as many books as I want as long as I regulary clean out my bookshleve and sell books.)
When I get the chance and if I get the digital camera I want for Christmas I will take a picture of my one pitiful bookshelf. (My mom is refusing to get me another even temporarily 'cause she wants to get built-in's, even though she's saying that will take a while)

I have too many books to count, and if I wanted to take pictures of all my books, I'd have to take pictures of my whole house. ninja
I love the fact that I have so many books. When I was little, I even went to the extreme of putting in "card slips" in the back of a good portion of my books (most of which have been sold by now, as they were for little kids, and stuff that I actually don't still read); surprisingly enough, I found out at that point that my mom did the same thing when she was little. 0.o.
Often, people come to me for books. My sister has raided my bookcase when she gets my permission to do so, my mom's borrowed some of my books...I even had my aunt call up my mom to ask if I had certain books that my cousin needed to read for school before she went out and bought the books - and I had them both! 3nodding
I guess I just love to collect the books. Often, I'll reread them, as long as I can't remember all of the details. Not just that, but now my parents can't complain that I only read things once, 'cause I don't.
I also have a growing manga collection, of which my 'proudest' achievement is having volumes 1 - 13 of From Far Away (I plan to own this entire series by the time it's complete). My mom complains that manga is too expensive, but that's okay, 'cause I get the stuff with giftcards. ^ ^
My unachievable dream (unless I suddenly gain a gigantic amount of money by the time I get my own house) is to have a secret room just filled with bookcases. The kind of room that you press a hidden panel and are suddenly in a hidden room. It may be a silly dream, but it's something I've wanted since forever... I'd fill it, wall to wall, one day. I really would. *wistful look*
