What got me into it? Hm...always a hard question to answer. XD I think it's the way the artist and the author work so well together to make an awesome plot line. The artist's skills are absolutely amazing, and the author is awesome at developing characters and keeping the reader's attention. Of course, that's looking at it completely objectively. XP But...I do that much too often, anyway.

Everyone loves the art for death note. ^^ When I first saw it I didn't care much for the art. I was use to that cutsey-poopsy style. lol I really appreciate the artwork now, though.

I was actually at Barnes and Noble to pick up a book I needed for class, and I was browsing the Manga section. I was just trying to look for a new series since my favorties were in between releases. So, eventually I spot a little book called Death Note, I looked at it and it just stood out to me because of the art and the unusualness of it (Ryuuk especially) so I read the summary, got a little interested, and then read about half of the first chapter, then I got really interested. I got to the part in the first book when Raito tests the Death note out on the motorcycle guy that he caused to get hit by a bus, and it just really intrigued me from there.
At that point, my mom found me and I had to leave. bugger. But then I told my friend Addie about it, and a few days later she had actually bought it and was already an uber fan, even already claiming "ownership" over L xd
She brought it over, and my transformation into a Death Note worshipper became complete. twisted

I first got into Death Note when I seen a preview of it in Shonen Jump last year..I had heard of it before that but never got the time to read it but it always seemed like an interesting name to me. Then I got the first volume right away and have been obsessed ever since...I have even been known to carry my actual Death Note in public and yeah...I get some ooks but it is worth it.

I wasn't really that into it until I saw the scene where L proved that Kira lived in Tokyo and could kill without having physical contact with the victim.
