The black male ratel nodded and started off, leaving the elephant carcass alone. These humans are defiling their land with their greed. What does taking a life away for their parts get anyone anywhere?
"Jini, come. We are leaving." he said, more like ordered, as he started to run. The command was to get her attention and to ensure her to come.

"No need to tell me twice!" As fast as she could, she ran away from the elepphant and the scent of humans. Oh, how unpleasant they smelled! A new scent wafted to her nose as the winds changed. Ah, a much more pleasant scent of death! "Hey, there's something that way!" She glanced in the direction of the food, powerful paws already working to turn her towards the smell. And what was better, no scent of humans!

Topas gonked, she ran much faster than he did. Man, he was really out of shape, maybe he should start working out more with Jamaa. Within moments, Jini was a goof yard ahead of him as he ran at his fastest.
"Aw, come on, lassie. Do ya got to run so fast?" he shouted. He pushed himself after her with all his might.
Bloody hell, I got ta get Jamaa to help me...

Jini slowed a bit. "Oops.." At any rate, though, they had come near what was dead. It was an antelope, dead at the paws of a lion, only to be rather abandoned. Perhaps it had sensed the humans, but either way... It was a feast for sure! "Would you look at that... And not a single sign of those hoo-mons to be seen!"

"Nor that flithy smell neither." he added. Strange that a lion, judging by the wounds on the carcass, would up and abandon it's catch. Perhaps the sense of the humans scarred it away or it just didn't want it. Either way, these two ratels got their meal for sure and with no interferrance either.
"Why, what a meal." he walked to it and dipped his head.
"Lady's first~"

The pale ratel smiled slightly. "Such a gentleman..." SHe went over, starting on the carcass. Oh, it tasted good! Especially to an empty stoumach! Ripping out chunks of flesh, she chewed happily, blood soaking her pale fur quickly. But to her, it mattered not, for she was hungry and cared not.

Satisfied that Jini started he started at the Carcass as well. BIt by bit, pieces of meat came off. The crimson liquid soaked his obsidian fur giving him a dark, evil look. This meal was probably the best one he had.
Time passed as Topas reached the spine, where he stops when starting from the back. The ratel drew back and sat himself down, wiping his maw with his paw.
"Ai, that was delicious." he said satisfied with his full stomach.
His eyes swiveled. "Jini.....do ya like meh?"

The female sat back, belly full, a content smile on her face. One ear swiveled as Topas spoke, and she looked over. That was a rather... Profound question... Leaning over, she licked a bit of blood off his maw. "I think I do.." A smile came to her bloody face, almost seeming to make her eyes glow.

Topas' ears twitched. SHe said she thought so. Does that mean she likes him or loves him? Oh females can be confusing, then again a lot of things are.
"Do you like me or do you like me like me....?" he asked shyly, his red blush blending in with his crimson colored maw. He has to know!

Sitting back, Jini regaurded Topas a moment, further mulling it over. "You certainly make me feel a way no other male's made me feel, that's for sure.." She paused, thinking it over, then smiled. "I'd say I hold a feeling for you beyond just 'like'. What about you...?"

Wow, he made her feel like no other male could. Was that another way for saying love? She said she held him beyond the word love.
Topas' blue grew darker, almost darker than the crimson blood on his face. "I think....." he paused. What if he misinterpreted her words and completely embarass himself. Possibly turning her off as well. But it is now or never, it is now!
"I love you!" he shouted.

Well, that certainly took the pale ratel by surprise! A full-on blush spread across her muzzle and face, green eyes wide. "Y-You...?" She swore her heart fluttered in a good way. Her stoumach was doing flops, she swore it was. "I think..." She looked down at her paws, the blush spreading to her body. "I think I feel the same..."

"R-really!?" he said in surprised. He didn't think she did, but this proved it. "You like me too?" he was excited and surprised. Happy really.
Before he met Jamaa he was very protective of himself, never got hurt because he never let anyone close to him. Jamaa was the first, but they were just friends. This was Jini, a female he loved!
Topas sat himself down, this was a little too much for the little ratel. His black fur wasn't so black anymore. His blush shined, sort of bleached his fur of its crimson color.
"I really love you, Jini."

Her little tail wagging just a bit, Jini'kali went over and sat next to Topas. She need not have said anything, simply leaning against the male. The blush was rather cute. Wait, had she just thought that?! Examining this fact, she found... She didn't mind. The white and silver ratel smiled, looking at the darker male. "The blush looks cute on ya..." Even she couldn't help blushing just a little, and hers was much more noticeable.
