Rai moves until her elbows are holding her about a foot off the ground. She opens her mouth to say something back, a witty retort, something about how he could try but she'd most likely get off the first shot. But then she looks down at Lance hands. They were burned, almost beyond recognition, the only flaw in his eternal perfection.
"I can heal those." She said, and looked back up at him, her eyes steady; she held no malice in her words. She swallowed hard. "It will not take very long... and..." she stopped, realizing her stupidity. He would never let her heal him. She was the enemy; an act of kindness would do her no good now. She was helpless, and she knew it.

Lance looked at his hands, his face neutral. Slowly, the vampire's eyes looked into Rai's. "You? Heal them?"
Nanya watch Rai and Lance interact and didn't like it at all. Lance wasn't acting angry or doing anything about a whitelighter being in his presence. Odd...he couldn't like Rai. Nanya was supposed to be his...or so she thought.
"How is Lance supposed to trust you whitelighter?" Nanya asked, looking directly at Rai.
Lance looked into Rai's eyes, waiting for a response.

Rai looks at Nanya, a cold quiet look in her eyes. "I am a whitelighter! It's in my nature to heal those in need." She lied.
It wasn't even close to her job to heal demons, but she felt somthing about this one, something that made her want to trust him. Maybe he was controling her with his powers?..but it was something more.
She looked at Lance and moved hereself into a sitting postion holding out her hands for his own.
"You dont have to trust me," Rai says, and took a quick look at the look in Nanya face, understanding for what it was, "but I doubt Nanya would let anythign happen to you unavenged."
And she waited.

Lance smiled, it staying. "You tell partial truth of helping those in need. It doesn't involve evil. Would you consider me evil Rai?" His hands hurt, but hey, he could bare the pain a little pain to hear the answer to such a question. Nanya had a small smile of her own. It was a trick question.

"Yes," the answer come without pause. "Evil by the standards of those who rule me, but fair by my own." She still held out her hands to him, "You are as you chose to be, only you can answer that question."
Then she smiled, just a hint. And her eyes went from Nanya to Lance. "I know you are evil, but you do not scare me as many do, because i know that you are fair, and speak truth with promises. I trust you. Does that answer sufice?"

Lance nodded with a small smile. "It will do. What do you think ma petite?" He asked, looking at Nanya.
She glared back. "I don't trust her."
Lance laughed, one that sent a chill down Nanya's spine. "You trust no one but me...though I will tell you-" He paused for a moment, looking into Nanya's blue eyes and he spoke with a whisper that he knew both of the women could hear. "You sound of jealousy...are you truelly afraid of me liking dear Rai?" Nanya just shrugged and he laughed again.
"You taunt me." Nanya said, finally looking away from both of the vampire and whitelighter and sighed.
It was Lance's turn to gracefully shrug. "Now Rai, my hands?" He said, finally wanting to get rid of the pain.

Rai nods and closes her eyes, and the blue light of her healing covers the vampire hands. After a few second the wounds were gone, the flesh returned. Rai again opened her eyes, and looked at the vampire and his servant, waiting for what they would do next.

Lance looked at his hands for a moment. Now since she healed him, he was grateful...yet, that hate for whitelighters was still there. For some reason, he didn't feel too much hate for this one. Why? Nanya seemed very jealous of Rai. Rai was the first whitelighter that Lance let close to him in years. "Thank you." He studied Rai for a moment, then stood and walked back over to his chair, leaving the whitelighter on the floor.
"Let me ask you something mon ami, at the cemetary, you mentioned your knowledge of my hatred for whitelighters, why help me?"
Nanya turned looking at Rai, wanting to know the same thing.

Lance frowned, then quickly recovered with a neutral face, still looking handsome as ever. "What do you mean you do not know?"
Nanya answered, not wanting to hear what Rai had to say. "She doesn't know Lance and why does it matter now?"
Lance himself was taken aback by Nanya. Without even looking at her, he waved his hand. "Put your dagger up and leave us. I want to talk to her in privacy."
Nanya looked hurt by that. "Lance-"
"Ma petite!" He said a little firmer and harsher.
"Don't call me that." She threw her dagger, it landing right next to the whitelighter's leg. Lance stood up with speed. It didn't even seem like he had moved at all.
"Go before I do something that we both will regret." He said in anger.
Nanya stuck her middle finger up. "Regret that." She said as she walked toward the door.
"I'll break it off if you do that to me again." Lance said with much sincerity.
Nanya resisted the urge to give him both her middle fingers. She slammed the door behind her. "Childish..." Lance whispered and looked at Rai. "Forgive her, her...anger rules her sometimes."

Rai didn't flinch as the dagger come zinging toward her, she knew it wouldn't hit. But it had made her heart jump. But to be alone? With this man? Was that wise? Was that why her heart was beating too fast to count?
"Its okay," Rai said, breathing slowly, "she cares a lot about you."

(( heart heart lol, thankies. I usually don't like to do just one character at a time, using more than one helps me to spice the RP up a little))
Lance shook his head while slowly sitting back down onto his velvet couch. "She doesn't act like it." He thought about it for a moment. He had fell in love with that anger in the beginning, now it was getting tireding. A slow smile crept upon Lance's face after he heard Rai's heart beating oh so hard. "I can hear your heart. It beats so hard....so lively."

Rai shoots a look at him, then turns away, getting up off the floor and leaning against a wal.l
"Well, "Rai coughs, "she did throw a knife at me..it kinda of scared me..." she looks away,"a little..."

Lance laughed, it seemed to wrap around Rai's skin, feeling like a soft cloth was falling against her skin. "Of course. Nanya has that effect." Lance sat on the couch, looking at Rai as she laid back against the wall. "Now, as to what I asked before Nanya so rudely interupted...why did you help me? You must know why? I have never seen generousity for nothing from neither side of good and evil."

Rai opens her mouth, shuts it, and opens it again, only to take a breath and close her eyes. She didn't even know why she'd helped. Why should she? The Elders would kill her if they knew of her random entering of the underworld. She felt something down there pulling at her. Not evil. She knew if she were turning evil. Darklighters did exist for a reason. But...
"I have a very strange feeling that..." She looks confused; how to say it? "I'm attracted to you, Lance; you're a vampire, it is natural for any women to be attracted to you, correct?" She needed a lifeline, something to hold on to. If it happened all the time, then it would be okay if it was normal she could deal with it.
