My unit is filled with idiots who arent respectful, dont take it seriously, and have no business being enrolled in the program. The only reason why they stay is because our Colonel believes that maybe we can rub some good off onto them. As for the rest of them, once they do reach a position they rarely do their job. Im one of the few that does do my job properly.

Amen to that. That is exactly how it is in our core. Part of the cadtes are either too stupid or too lazy to do anything, and the other part (mostly our key leadership) are so filled with a sense of power that they abuse it. I'm a flight commander, the Kitty Hawk Air Society commander, and Chief of Finance, and I take my job very seriously. Staff meeting for us have become a joke. Even my own NCO (after I have told them) don't show up. Last year and this ear we have had to fire two of our core commanders, one for getting arrested numerous times and the other for being cought having sex in the staff work room. This is getting ridiculous. it seems like ROTC has lost so much discipline in the last years.

Yeah i understand how you feel. Teh entire Leadership Team just don't have their heads on straight and everyone else just doen't give a rat's a**. And i personally think that it should change.

We recently were a pile of suck til we had a teaching change we wen from Col. Noe, and MSGT. Wolfe to Col. Broadnax and MSGT. Armstrong...they straightened out our program and change the whole staff to more responsible people..and we actauly give jobs by the book..hence why I became a element leader.

At Last a place I can talk to other JROTC people!!!!

Im in NJROTC and this is my first year. In my first year I got promoted from E-1 to E-5 and some people think I cheated to get my rank which I didnt I worked my a** off. Im on the Academic team, Air rifle team, Armed basic team, Armed exhibiton team and Drum and Bugle.

Right now I just can't wait until boot camp. I want to see the new recruits and I want to see their faces when they see all the things that they have to do.
PostPosted: Mon Jun 12, 2006 7:31 pm

SLS is our version of 'boot camp'.

Its a joke.

But yeah, its great and easy for me. I think its cause of Sea Cadets, but whatever. Im going to the one that was formally held at Barksdale AFB, but this year is being moved to Rustin, LA. My summer is crazy, on top of work I went to Young Life camp in Buena Vista, Colorado June 2-10. I got to climb a 13,000 ft mountain. It was...amazing. Then im home for a week, then Friday I have Sea Cadet drill and Saturday I leave for SLS. Heck. Yeah. Then Im home until the later part of July when I leave for training for Sea Cadets. But thats up in the air for now. *Shakes fist* Our Yeoman sucks with paper work. You gotta ride his butt for it to be done right and turned it. -.-'.

I got promoted to c/Maj. and im Logistics Group Commander for this year. Bundles of fun, considering the Logistics people didnt do their job at all this year..so its going to be a nightmare.

I just finished AFJROTC. Ended up as a c/Capt. 2nd Sqdrn Cmdr with the Cadet Humanitarian Award. After of course getting an Honor Board a year before for nothing, not that I'm bitter of course.

But I'm headin of to college and doin Army ROTC now. 3nodding

Wow, I suddenly feel really old... I'm in AFROTC Det 310 and am about to become an E-2 (all sophomores have the same rank). I'm in Arnold Air Society (yay Arnies!) and am a 1st Lt. in in there, after having just finished pledging in April.

I was never in a JROTC, but I have friends who were. JROTC is a completely different environment then ROTC. ROTC isn't just a class in college, it really is a lifestyle, and at least with us AF people (due to the AF downsizing and what not), if you mouth off and are generally not a good cadet you won't get to go to field training and thus won't get commissioned, it's as simple as that. Granted, I'm also in the Best AFROTC Detatchment for it's size in the nation, so that might have a bit to do with it... whee

I am in Army JROTC just graduated from freshman, and you don't just get handed things at my district the rules are much different... Tougher than ya think... I obtained the s-1 (personnel Officer) assistant... It's a good posistion for a a sophomore... and I was on every team except the air rifle and biatholon ofcourse... Freshman arent allowed in those courses.

Anyways I got a pic posted here in my class A uniform go ahead and take a look if you want/if you dare.

JROTC is a good course to obtain alot of friendship and if you are very dedicated to it and your unit they will become just like your family... I am in summer practices ever other day or so and we do cadet challenge fun thing. The training is great and very fun specially the course of rapelling.... and visiting all the military bases.

Any military program is a lifestyle if you are dedicated by the way... It just how you look at things.

I obtained many rewards and stuff too, 7 trophies in all first year, 9 ribbons, 3 medals, 4 neck medals, 1st place in academic decatholan and 5 chords.

Oh and about people not having their heads on strait if you get the chance to cammand your platoon (squad leaders cant give out pushups) Well you get the idea....

They don't hand out crap at our school. You have to work your a** off for it. As a going to be Junior I have 18 ribbons plus clusters, the Scottish Rite of Free Mansonary Southern Jusidiction Award, Rocket Team badge, and 2 cords. I have had several leadership positions. I cant think of a time when I havent been in a leadership position..especially during SLS.

Which I got sent home early from. *Shakes fist again* I ended up in the hospital with a major knee injury. They put me in a leg stabilizer and gave me a set of crutches. I fought the commandment of the school to not be sent home for 3 hours. To no avail. -.-. Freaking middle of the week too. I was so mad. Still am. So now? Possible knee surgery! Oh flipping joy. ><

I do get to be in the 4th of July parade. Actually im marching in 7 4th of July parades..and im going to be switching uniforms between the 2ed and 3rd one to my dress whites for Sea Cadets. Im honored. But its gonna be a pain on my knee.

I'm an o-1 in NJROTC, but hopefully they'll give me the rank I'm supposed to have... I'm on armed and academic, next year I'll also be on color guard, orienteering, and PT. Our stupid principal thinks air rifles are too dangerous, otherwise I'd be on rifle too. I'm the Ops officer of my unit, big surprise for me. So, what's everyone talking about?
PostPosted: Sun Jul 02, 2006 8:13 pm

Just what everyone really is in JROTC basically...

how is everyone liking it , and how are things going!!!!
