"How are you two getting along?" Jenny asked, turning to wach the pair as well; she was curious as to how other guardians dealt with any talents that might show. Admittedly, all she could really do for Zayd there was to ensure his eye was hidden, but still...
"Umm..." he stared at it, ever-so-slightly overwhelmed. He had the suspicion that Candice could talk the hind leg off of a donkey, if she put her mind to it - or maybe both legs. He had tried to keep up, but it had been difficult - she had used quite a few words he didn't understand. Zayd caught the last sentence with difficulty, replying: "Zayd"

"Along with Candice? Hmmm... OK I guess. It's kinda easy to take care of her, turns out she likes playing video games about as much as I do." Laughing slightly he glanced over to the pair before his demenior seemed more pensive. "I don't know how I'm suppost to train her or anything, the only time she walked through a wall was an accident. It's not like I can do the same and take her through it step by step..."
"Zayd? That's a nifty name. Does it mean anything? My name means glowing or something, it's a Greek name. My babysitter is Joshua. I looked it up, it means salvation." She gestured towards the two adults without actually looking at them. She kind of liked Josua, in that big brother kind of way. He was pretty spacy most of the time so she often had to take care of herself but she was used to that already so didn't really mind. He gave her a lots of freedom to do her own thing which was cool. "What's your babysitter's name?" She really hadn't been paying attention earlier.

Jenny took notice of this; he seemed like a nice helpful young man, unlike a lot of 'em you got these days, although a lot of them had their reasons... and as to the videogames... "Can you recommend anything good, with lots of text?" she wanted to encourage Zayd to learn to read before he got enrolled properly in school. She hadn't tried the direct approach yet, but she figured it would be best to have him asking first.
"Umm, I don't know... mama named me after my grandfather..." Zayd said reluctantly - he had only ever seen the old man once; he had been five or so at the time. The old man had been dying in one of the little missionary hospitals, and mama had come to pay he respects. It had left a pretty strong impression on the little boy - the stench of death and prematurely rotting flesh. "She's called Jenny... she's pretty nice"

"Oh yeah, theres all the RPG's out there, like the FF series, or something like that. But ya gonna need a PS2 for that, Hmmm... Computer games there are bucketloads, like Starcraft or the other stratagy games out there. There is also RPG's for the computer too. Or I can write ya something small, it's not gonna look pretty but it'll have writing." A few years back he had started a 'chose your own adventure' type story for the computer, so far it hadn't ammounted to much as, while he could write programs to do many things, stories however, were not his forte.
"That's cool. I don't know who I am named after maybe an ungly old aunt or something." There was a sense about her that seemed to hint that she didn't feel wanted by her parents and thought her name must be bad in some way to reflect that. Candice shrugged before brightening up again. "Jenny is a pretty name, it's is a shortened version of Jennifer. I knew a girl named Jennifer, she wasn't very nice but this Jenny sounds much better."

"Ummm..." Jenny's knowledge of things technical amounted to knowing how to switch the telly on. That was about it. PS2 she had heard of, but... RPG? FF? Starcraft? She would have to ask him to explain again - slowly. Veery slowly. "Please can you explain...? It's very kind of you to offer to write something, but I'm afraid my technological ability is minimal - I can just about use my mobile, I'm afraid!" She rubbed the back of her head, slightly embarrassed; Jenny was getting old, and she knew it.
"You okay?" Zayd asked, staring at her for a second, then looking away, his mind immediatly going to schemes to distract her from whatever was up with her... Hadn't he seen fish in that pond? Kekekekeke... "Let's go fishing!" He pronounced suddenly, grabbing her elbow and dashing off towards the pond, hopefully dragging her behind.

Joshua chuckled, "Well I guess not eveyone can be a techno-genious." He grinned largly to show he was poking a little fun, "But I can safely say if you are that old ya don't look it." Getting a little back to seriousness and the conversation at hand he added, "If you have e-mail or something I can send you a few links to websites, or you can always borrow a few games. FF is the short for Final Fantasy, they are a bunch of games that are RPG's. Ummmm... Roleplaying games, like stories but the outcome is differeent depending on what direction you make the character go. The rest were names of other games."
"Oooh fishing would be cool! But where are the fish?" Candice looked around not even thinking about the pretty koi in the pond.

"Alright then..." Jenny said slowly, turning this new information over in her head... she would have to start by getting a decent computer... maybe one of those apple macs? They were pretty cute! "and hush, makeup takes care of all that!" she winked, her face splitting into a grin.
"In the pond..." Zayd said, peering over the edge thoughtfully. He had stolen a fish once, from a barrel in the souk. It had been pretty slippery, and hard to catch. Maybe they should get a pole and a bit of string, like the ones he had seen in pictures. "They're good t' eat, I think..."

"If ya need help in hunting for good prices I'm just a phone call away, or teleporter for that matter..." Joshua grinned before pausing for a moment. "I could even build ya a computer if you need it. I know I have a few good processors and ram cards free. Oh and I have an awsome graphics card and a pretty decent sound card laying around." His mind went off in leaps and bounds into directions unknown.
"I don't think you can eat those fish. They are for decoration only." Candice looked down into the pond. "I mean, why else would they keep fish in a pond." Candice never really liked fish, always preferring hamburgers and hot dogs rather than the cold, slimey things that came out of the water. "I have a better idea, that Charles guy said something about a cafeteria. I could easily get stuff from there for us to eat." She looked over to the two adults and smirked as she saw Joshua attempt to flirt with Jenny. "Here, let's sneak off this way." She wandered towards an unsuspecting bush and ducked behind it. Motioning towards Zayd she encouraged him to follow her.

"That's really sweet of you" Jenny replied, smiling "I guess I might need your help soon then - I guess I'll give you a call" She was having to resist the overwhelming desire to treat him like a huge puppy - which was pretty much the way he was acting, in her view.
"But..." Zayd was sure you could eat them. What else would they be there for? When she disappeared into the bush, he hadn't really been paying attention - so the hiss and gesturing from the bush suprised him somewhat. Sticking his hands into his pockets, he ambled over, not really getting into the whole stealth thing.

Pulling him out of sight, Candice then made her way towards the building. "Over here, if I remember rightly the cafeteria should be somewhere in this direction." Bypassing the door, where she knew it would probably be covered by a camera the younger girl skirted around to find a window. "Can you tell me what's in there?" She pointed up to the partially covered glass.
Joshua laughed, "Right, it's settled then. When ya decide to go out and snag a computer, let me know and I'll come with. At least then Candice will have an excuse to come along too as you're little guy would mostly have to come. So he can pick out a few games too." It was then he casually looked around and noticed the empty space where the pair of kids used to be. "Oh crap..."
o O (Nope... Candice isn't the type to get in trouble much... nope not at all >_< )

Jenny blinked, glancing round herself. The empty space wasn't really troubling her - after all, unless there was screaming, she pretty much assumed everything was fine - and she assured Joshua of such. "Don't worry - unless any of the alarms go off, I'm sure they'll be fine"
Zayd stared at it for a second, then grabbed the sill, pulling himself up by it. Peering in through the uncover glass, he could just about make out the cafeteria; gleaming steel and plastics, rather similar to some he had seen back home, the entrance halls of the huge banks.
[Y'don't say ^^;;]

o O (Alarms would be perfect *snickers*) Joshua nodded, "I suppose you are right, Charls did seem to emphisize how secure this place was." He seemed to calm down visibly before frowning slightly, "Though, I wonder where they could have gone?" ***** "Is it all clear?" She looked around to make sure there wasn't any one who had seen them yet before tugging at his ankle. "Here I think I can do this. If I can place the shoe into dirt I can pull us both through to the cafeteria." Looking for what she though was the weakest point in the wall, a small patch of space that didn't have a counter running along it, Candice grabbed his hand and closed her eyes, pressing against the wall, willing herself through. One hand slowly sank in and she pressed her forehead against the wall consentraiting hard. It wasn't until she got through to the other side she realized they were going to end up in a cupboard. It was then she realized she was probably over her head. Not wanting to become stuck in a cupboard, Candice attempted to reverse slowly back out but there was resistance. The wall was slowly closing in on her! With a low wail she tried to squirm into an unoccupied space but her shoe refused to follow through. Her fingers were tingling and Candice glanced down to find them stuck in the door of the cupboard. With a few tears running down her face she pulled them out, the tips of her fingers raw from the pressed wood. She was stuck in the cramped cupboard, and could feel her ankle still within the back of the cupboard wall. She pushed against the door but it seemed to be locked and suddenly a loud crash startled her. Trying to calm down and think she hoped nothing else would go wrong. That was when the alarms started... o O (What Zayd saw: She was holding his hand as she started through the wall but suddenly her hand slipped through his fingers. She continued through as if she didn't notice then suddenly stopped and then the hand and lat foot suddenly get pulled through the wall. Now all he can see is her dropped shoe on this side of the wall (her foot is stuck in the crawlspace right now)

Zayd had let himself down, and - although he had been planning to dissuade her, he hadn't quite - watched her slowly disappear into the wall. When her hand dissolved through his, he was seriously freaked. She had to be a djinn or something! He began panicking when she wailed; and then she stopped moving into the wall - but her shoe was still here - what the crap had happened? In a habit born of long conditioning, he froze for as second, like a rabbit in the headlights, resisting the urge to bolt - he couldn't just leave her here - what if she was stuck? Zayd picked up Candice's shoe cautiously, tapping the wall to see if she was on the other side. She wasn't screaming, which probably meant she was okay - but what if she couldn't? What if the wall had been thicker then she thought, and she'd got stuck, unable to breath!

The alarm was defening, she could hear a door slam and loud voices talking.
"I don't see anything here, must be in another room." "Hey you! Check out the back entry!" "I want a full sweep before we turn this thing off!"
Candice stayed quiet, not wanting to make a sound and be found in the cramped spot. Her heart was beating slower now and she consentrated on breathing slowly. She needed to be calm before trying again. Cautiously she touched the cupboard door with her finger but it met with the usual resistance. She was, however, able to wiggle the rest of her foot through, though that didn't help with the tight conditions. Collecting her thoughts Candice realized she wasn't going to be able to go backwards and so through the door of the cupboard was the only way to go. Pressing against it she realized it was still locked. She was going to have phase through it...
