Heywould Jablowme
Don't the plastic mats work just as well?
If you play on Beginner. ):
Basically.

One could go their entire DDR career without using a metal pad, but if you care anything about how well you do, you need it.

There's the search page I got. -"Gamezforless" has a huge positive feedback rating, otherwise I wouldn't even be considering it. I figure that probability is on my side if I get two from them; chances are, both will work, and at least one of them will almost definately work. -The Innex 2 pad package is what I've been looking at, and it seems that they're sold directly from the factory through eBay, explaining the high shipping costs and low item costs.
Hm..

It doesn't sound half bad at all. The price is pretty damn good too.

But in my experience, if it's cheap, there's a good reason why.

I'd give it a shot. It wouldn't be a huge loss if it ended up being a piece of crap, I suppose. My mom's going to take a look with me this weekend. -She has as much public internet experience as one can get. -She buys and sells online frequently, she was an AOL webhost from 1996 until they stopped having webhosts in 2005, and she knows her way around laws, warranties, and shipping.

Despite what some people in my family argue, $120 is not a large investment at all (I've spent about $600 on instruments over the last year or so) for me, and the loss of that money in exchange for good, hard knowledge about the brand and the seller for future referrence would be very helpful for a lot of people. -This idea just popped into my mind, but I think it would be a good idea to create an Accessory and Software guide sticky, so members won't get ripped off, and to lessen repeat topics, because there are quite a few about what products to buy.

Heywould Jablowme
Is there really a need for a metal pad? Don't the plastic mats work just as well? I mean, when I go to the arcade, there most definetely is a difference, but I don't think it's a difference in QUALITY persay. I guess I'm trying to say I like both o.o
I'll get you a picture of my plastic mat, and you can reconsider.

1000 or so hours of gameplay can wear a mat down, ya know? -If you don't know what I mean by that, you will as soon as I get that picture to you.

I've Been using a Red Octane Soft Pad (Ignition) but it only lasts me about 3 months before the buttons start to get stuck or something. Does Anyone know whether There are any soft pads that will last or should I just save myself the trouble and get a metal pad?

That's a huge oxymoron.

Get a metal pad.

Ditto.

I figured out how to use a digital camera, so now I just need to take a picture of my soft pad, hook up my grandpa's camera to a compy, and transfer the picture.

Then, I'll post a picture of what my current pad looks like, and you can all vomit.

Although it's hard to see the blue masking tape that covers it, so I'll probably highlight it in paint or something too, for a total of 2 pics.

What? Anyway, you should invest in a cobalt flux. They may be $300, but it's well worth it.

My metal pads were $6 + S&H, no tax. (so what if S&H was $70 per item, I still got 'em cheaper than you)

You got gypted, boy.

The shittiest metal pad out there will still outlast the best soft pad there is by years.

You mean $60, not $6 right? rofl

Any pad that isn't metal is a waste of time unless you don't plan on playing past Standard.
