Discovery...
Nikiana sighed as she opened the front door of her house, nearly falling in as she'd been resting the box in her hands against the door while she unlocked it. Alaqua was asking about lunch, so Niki plopped the box down in the floor and wandered into the kitchen to fix the vegetarian koala child a lunch of sliced fruits and veggies.
With Ala happily eating her lunch, Niki was free to sort through the stuff she'd gotten at the flea market and figure out where to put it all. The old globe was going in the living room. It'd look nice in her office, but there was no room with all the mess all over every available desk space. A few old books. They'd go in the shelves in the living room, so they were placed next to the globe. Several more odds and ends were sorted out into various piles to placed in different parts of the house.
Finally, Niki came upon the last item, an old case with a scroll still in it. The scroll was even sealed still and seemed to be in pretty good condition, for how old it appeared. Most likely it was some fake, a piece of paper dyed with tea to look old and then put in a case worn to make it look old as well, but Nikiana didn't care. It still looked cool.
She placed the scroll in the living room stack and started carrying the items to the various parts of the house, setting them here and there for decoration. She loved shopping at the flea market.

Sisterly.... hate??
It had taken Nikiana longer than she'd thought to fix up Reign's new room, what with the chimp child pulling an Ala and clinging to her the entire time. Oh well, she'd gotten used to it. For the most part.
It was now dinner time and Niki was reminded that she didn't know what the marmoset child would like to eat. Oh well, she had a lot of veggies and fruits now, because Ala wouldn't eat any meat. Niki personally hated most veggies and loved meat, but... to each her own.
"Ala! Dinner time!" Niki told her other daughter as she exited Reign's room and carried the girl to the kitchen. She opened the fridge. "Okay, Reign. What do you want to eat?"
The toddler continued to suck her thumb, peering into the fridge.
"How about an apple?" Niki asked, picking up the fruit in question.
Reign blinked, which Niki took for a yes and set the girl down at the table to cut the apple up. She placed the slices in a bowl before Reign and wondered what was taking Alaqua so long.
"Ala!! Dinner!"
A muffled reply was heard and Niki walked down the hallway, knocking softly on the door as she opened it.
Ala jumped up from her desk and ran across the room. "Not hungry!!" She shouted as she slammed the door in her mother's face.
Niki blinked. What had gotten into Ala? Her daughter hadn't acted like this before. She sighed. Oh well.
Alaqua continued standing at her door, listening to her mother's footsteps grow softer. With a grumpy sigh, she returned to her desk. "Mommy likes Reign better than Ala..." The girl stated as she sat down.
Tears slowly rolled down her face as she watched Eddy wander about his cage. Truthfully, she was hungry. But eating would mean leaving her room and facing her mother and... her. She was stealing Mommy away from Ala. It was no fair.
Well, Ala would just have to take that girl back to those people who came and brought her here anyways. She'd tell them that Mommy didn't want her. Yeah, that's right. That's what she would do!
But when? And where would these people be? Alaqua groaned as she encountered bumps in her plan. She'd have to think more over this...

Return Policy?
The house had grown silent, with most of its occupants in bed. Niki and Reign slept soundly in their rooms. However, Alaqua was still awake. And hungry. She hopped out of her hammock, where she'd been trying to fall asleep, and quietly strode to her door. Opening the door slowly, she heard no noise from her mom's room or her sister's room.
Grinning, Ala traversed the hallway, sneaking to the kitchen. There'd be something for her to eat in the fridge. She opened it, spotting a bag of baby carrots. Jackpot!
A handful of carrots later, Ala replaced the bag. She was about to turn and go back to her room when a small card on the fridge caught her attention. Slowly, she worked out the words on it. Oh! It was the card Mommy got when Reign came! And there was an address! Perfect!
The girl ran to her room and grabbed her little bag where she kept her small amount of allowance money. Then she crossed the hall to Reign's room.
"Reign. Reign. Wake up..."
The chimp girl weakly waved her arms about and Ala lugged the girl up from her pillow bed on the floor. "C'mon. We're going somewheres."
Reign rubbed her eyes. "Wheres?" She questioned her sister. Why was Ala taking her somewhere? Ala didn't like her...
"Go... get ice creams." Ala quickly made up.
Reign's eyes opened wide with excitement. "Ice creams?!"
"Shh... Can't let Mommy know. We go ourselves."
Reign nodded, putting a finger to her lips. Alaqua grinned and tugged the girl along outside. There was a bus stop not too far from the house. Right?

Well, Ala and Reign seem to be getting along a bit better than they used to. Which means.... Ala will stay in the same room as her sister for about 5 mins or so. It's progress.
Speaking of progress, Reign's slowly learning how to use her tail. Now she has three things that can shovel food into her mouth. Her coordination with it has gotten better. It only misses around 25% of the time now. I suppose I'll work with her a bit more on it. Who knows. Maybe one of these days she'll be able to write with her tail. Now wouldn't that be interesting!
After hearing her sister babble on nonstop for about 2 full hours about her dragon, Reign came to me, wanting to know what a dragon was. I managed to surpress my chuckle and show her a couple of pictures. Her thoughts? "Ugiee. Me no wants."
Which is a very good thing, considering I don't want two dragons in the house. Ala's still all excited about hers. We went and saw it the other day. Supposed to be a brass dragon. And they're supposed to talk. A lot. Just great...
Anyways, Reign's starting to get older, so I guess I should ask Nara about those classes she mentioned. The chimp girl's getting old enough to start attending class...

Well, Reign woke up the other morning and was practically covered from head to foot in fur. She came crying to me in the kitchen, where I was preparing breakfast for both girls. I soothed the girl as much as I could, spotting the fact that she was also starting to begin to outgrow her PJs.
To cheer her up, I suggested going shopping later that day. Ala wanted to go see her dragon egg again anyways, so after breakfast I dropped her off at D-corp and Reign and I hit the mall.
Now when Ala was about Reign's age, she was just really getting into green and hated skirts and dresses, scowling at each one I picked out. Reign was the complete opposite. She adored about each and every frilly pink dress I looked at and we had a hard time narrowing it down to just three or four to buy.
She had so much fun trying on each dress, I think she enjoyed that part the best. Then we found some new gloves for her 'feet' and lots of ribbons. Reign wanted ribbons both in her hair and on her tail. I was just thrilled to have a frilly girl to dress up and do her hair in the mornings.
Reign's also getting a bit more outgoing, but she's still fairly shy. Like she hid her face when the saleslady came over at first, but then was soon showing the lady the lastest frilly discovery.
After shopping, we swung by and picked up Ala and then, once we got home, Reign had to show her sister the dresses we'd bought. And model each one for the koala girl. Alaqua scowled as Reign had run off to put on the first one, but she calmed a bit after spotting me and even commented about how pretty Reign looked in one of the dresses. They're slowly getting used to each other.
I was afraid that Reign might hold a grudge for Ala trying to take her back to Nara, but the chimp girl seems to be over that (probably even forgot it) and adores her sister.
Ala even took Reign with her to the park the other day so that I could do a bit of housework. I was a bit nervous about sending my 6-year-old and my 4-year-old off by themselves to the park (even though it's only a block away). But they came back after about an hour and Ala talked on and on about a new girl that she'd met at the park, some bird girl who was afraid of heights. That's a new one.

The Dragon Arrives
Shortly after Nikiana had cleaned up after breakfast, the phone rang. The woman answered, wondering who'd be calling this early, especially on a Saturday. It had to be about one of the girls. Maybe Ala's dragon egg visit was cancelled for today or perhaps one of the girls had a lesson today suddenly. Or, well, who knew.
"Hello?"
"Miss Ledell? This is one of the D-techs from the egg facility." Okay so her first guess seemed to be right. "We're calling to inform you that Alaqua's egg is hatching. If she could get here as soon as possible, she might get to see the actual hatching."
Niki nearly dropped the phone. "We'll head over right now!" Hanging up the phone, the mother moved to the hallway, heading towards her room to get dressed. "Ala, your egg is hatching. Hurry up and get dressed!"
Ala poked her head outside her door. "It is?!? Yay!!" The door shut and sounds could be heard from behind it as the koala girl dashed about to get ready fast.
Reign poked her head out as well. "Can I come, Mom?"
Niki had just reached her own room and she turned to smile at her second daughter. "Sure, sweetie. But hurry, we don't want to miss it!"
Reign nodded and carefully shut her own door. Now to find that new dress she'd gotten the other day...
Nikiana entered her own room, pulling the first shirt she grabbed off its hanger and finding a pair of clean jeans. She ran a brush through her hair as Ala called from out in the hallway that she was ready. Niki exited and smiled at the anxious girl.
"C'mon, Reign!!" Ala called, practically dancing with her excitement. The chimp girl came out into the hallway and the trio headed for the door, Niki grabbing her keys and wallet on the way out.
She hit the remote unlock as she locked the front door, then double-checked that the girls were wearing their seatbelts before hopping in the driver's seat and racing towards D-corp.
Ala was opening the door before her mom had even come to a complete stop in the parking lot and raced towards the building. Niki sighed and grabbed Reign's hand to follow along behind.
A D-tech had come out by the time Niki and the chimp girl had reached the lobby, for Ala had told the lady at the front desk why she was there. They all filed onto the elevator and headed up to the incubation floor.
Alaqua started down the familar hallway to the room her egg was in, but the tech directed them elsewhere. "Your egg's in a room with more space so it can hatch out," he explained as he lead them to the room.
The girl recognized her egg and raced towards it. The yellow-orange hued egg was shaking and cracks had appeared upon its surface. Niki and Reign found seats by the wall and sat to watch.
It seemed that they didn't have to hurry quite so much, for it was another half hour before the wyrmling managed to break completely free. The hatchling was still damp with egg goo, but that didn't deter Ala from hugging it.
"Is it a boy or girl?" was the child's first question, looking around for the tech, who'd left quite some time back.
"Let's find out," her mother answered, stepping forward. A quick check was all she needed before announcing, "A boy."
Reign sighed. Darn, that meant she wouldn't get to put all kinds of pretty ribbons on the dragon. Hmph.
"A boy..." Ala mumbled for a moment, then looked at the dragon. "Your name is Bob!" She declared.
The brass hatchling grunted, apparently disgusted with his bonded's choice of name, but Alaqua took the noise as affirmation and hugged the dragon. "We'll have so much fun together, Bob."
Nikiana nearly burst out laughing at the solemn way her daughter proclaimed the dragon's name. She almost said something in the poor hatchling's defense, but kept silent and just shook with mirth. The name was too amusing for a dragon.
"Well, come on Ala. We'd best get Bob," and here the woman almost let out her laughter, "home."
Reign grabbed her mother's hand and they all headed back towards the elevator, the disgruntled dragon following along behind the girl who'd tagged him with such a horrible name. He'd have to come up with his own name, it seemed. And he'd take his time about it, you couldn't just come up with a name instantly, it had to be carefully considered and thought upon.
Alaqua was a bit disappointed that Bob couldn't ride in the seat with her, but Niki was afraid he'd tear the leather seats with his claws. "He can ride in the back. He'd be more comfortable there, anyways."
"Can I ride with him?"
Niki eyed her daughter for a moment, then sighed. "I suppose so."
"Yay!" Alaqua jumped up and down with excitement before climbing in to ride alongside the brass dragon.
The ride home was uneventful and Ala took Bob on an immediate tour of the house, pointing out her room and her mother's room as well as her sister's room (which she told him to avoid because her sister was no fun). Then she took Bob outside to play for a bit.
"Mom?" Reign looked at her mother, both sitting on the couch in the living room.
"Yes, sweetie?"
"Why did Ala name her dragon Bob? It's a silly name."
Niki smiled. "Well, apparently your sister doesn't think so. Don't say anything to her about it, please, Reign. She'll just get mad over it."
Reign frowned for a moment. "Okay..." A pause and then, "I wish her dragon had been a girl. Then I could've put ribbons on her."
The woman chuckled, then hugged her daughter. "Maybe I'll get you a little poodle to doll up."
Reign grinned. "Really?"
"Maybe, sweetie. We'll see."

I was a bit surprised to have recieved this invitation from D-corp in the mail. I'd known about the Halloween Ball, considering Reign came from that museum, but didn't know that somehow D-corp had gotten involved with it.

Invite You and your child are invited to attend Dcorp's halloween activities at the address below. Please stop by D-corp on your way to receive a special goodie bag, candy, and food. The main event will be held at "Museum in Memoria" and they request for you to come in costume. Have fun, and happy halloween.
-Alan Rikery & D-corp
Of course, both girls were excited and wanted to go and I was stuck getting costumes made up for everyone. Ala wanted to be a pirate captain and turned Bob into one of her swabbies. Reign had nothing to do with her sister and wanted a frilly dress so that she could be a princess. I decided to just use some of the stuff I had and came up with a sort of purple Jedi outfit, complete with toy lightsaber.
We stopped by D-corp first to get the goodie bag for Ala. Reign decided to wait outside in the car. I think she's a bit wary of some of the dragons. So we then went on to the actual party. It was amusing, to say the least. Alaqua got a pirate crew of mostly other D-corp children together to go find some buried treasure (of the candy variety). Both girls got goodie bags there as well.

Ding, Dong, the Boss is dead...?
Nikiana was driving Alaqua to D-corp for another class. The Jeep's seats pretty much stayed permantently down for Bob to ride along, though the lone seat was left up for Ala to sit in. Reign got to ride in front, which made both girls happy.
Niki was a bit tired from the previous night. Halloween had been interesting this year. The party had definately been interesting, what with some of the kids brawling and knocking over the punch bowls and that man making a rather odd announcement. Reign had told her mother about Nara's disappearence and now it seemed that the man was somehow behind all of that.
None of the occupants noticed the gaping hole in the front of the building. Niki stopped the jeep near the front. "Have a good day, sweetie," she told Ala as the girl scrambled out of the vehicle, helping Bob out before closing the door. Nikiana watched the pair make their way towards the doors. She never left until they went inside and so when the two stopped and didn't go in, she wondered what was up.
Alaqua and Bob turned and headed back towards the car, the dragon looking rather happy. Niki rolled her window down. "What's wrong?"
"Classes are cancelled," Ala answered as she opened the door and helped Bob up into the car.
Niki wondered what was up and shifted the car into park. "You girls stay here. I'll be back in a second." She opened her door, ignoring the dinging sound made by the vehicle and headed towards the doors.
She quickly read the sign that had been handwritten and posted up. The doors, usually automatically opening when someone came near, were appearently turned off as they remained shut. The note only stated that all classes for the kids had been cancelled for the day.
Nikiana banged on the door, peering in to see if anyone was around. Finally, a D-tech emerged and Niki pounded harder. The tech sighed and walked over, hitting a switch to open the doors. "Building's closed for the day," he stated, a bit grumpy and looking as if he hadn't slept.
"Why?" Niki asked.
The tech blinked. "Didn't you see the huge hole in the building?" He seemed amazed that someone could miss it.
Niki was taken aback. "What? What happened?"
"Someone murdered the Boss. We've got a big mess to clean up and we've got to get it done today if we're gonna have classes again tomorrow..." The tech closed the doors and wandered back to where he'd come from, muttering something under his breath.
Meanwhile, Niki stood there in a state of shock. The boss... Alan... was dead? Moisture formed in her eyes and she quickly wiped it away, heading back to the jeep.
Nikiana managed to make it back home, keeping her emotions roughly under control. Once home, she shut herself in her bedroom and cried.
Alaqua and Reign glanced at once another. "What's wrong with Mommy?" The chimp girl asked her older sister. Their mother had never acted so oddly around them. She hadn't said hardly anything the entire trip home and now she had locked herself in her own room. "Is Mommy in trouble?" The young girl came to the most logical conclusion to her. She had to stay in her room when she was in trouble, so maybe that's why Mommy was in her room.
Ala rolled her eyes. "No, silly. Mommy's not in trouble."
"Then why's she in her room?"
"I... don't know." Ala frowned. "Let's just let Mommy be for now."
"Okay." Reign headed off to her room to play with her dolls, tiptoeing past her mother's room on the way.
Alaqua and Bob headed outside. Ala wanted to sit up in one of the trees and think. And Bob could run around and enjoy not having class. He was the only one in the household that was not bothered and rather content by the events. It meant that he didn't have to sit through a boring class.

Sparring practice
She was supposed to practice at home, the man had said. But how was she supposed to practice without a staff? He'd taken hers back at the end of the class. Ala was in her favorite tree in the backyard with Bob resting in the shade. He was making some happy sounding noises, which Ala figured was another story or something.
Sighing, the girl leaned over to glance at where he was. What she saw surprised her a bit. The wyrmling had found a branch that had fallen out of a tree, it seemed. It was almost the length of the staff she'd practiced with in class.
Alaqua smiled and quickly climbed out of the tree. "Bob, let me see that."
The dragon gave a hiss, hovering over the branch protectively. He'd found it. It was his!
Ala sighed. The silly dragon had a whole bunch of sticks in his little nest in her room. "I'll give it back to you when I'm done, I promise."
Bob hesitated for a minute, then got up and stalked off to another part of the yard. Ala grinned and picked up the branch, quickly snapping off the little twigs. She'd asked her mom for a staff but had gotten a flat no as an answer. Of course, Reign had just recently asked for a set of throwing daggers. But Reign had gotten her weapon.
Ala sulked for a moment. It only made sense if she asked her sister to help her practice. It was hard to practice defending yourself if no one was attacking you. The koala girl carried her improvised staff over to the kitchen door. She opened the sliding door enough to stick her head in.
"REIGN!" She shouted into the house.
Ala was answered by her mother yelling at her to not yell in the house and the pounding of feet running down the hallway. Reign rolled her eyes at their mother's yelling about them tearing the house down. "What?"
"Wanna practice with me?" Ala asked, holding up her stick.
Reign raised an eyebrow. Though the marmoset girl had arrived at the house after Ala, the girl was already hitting her teens. So Ala's little sister was now becoming her big sister. Which was just downright confusing to everyone. "A stick?"
"It's a staff... Mom won't buy me one. C'mon, you can use your daggers if you promise not to try and hurt me." Ala pleaded. "I'm supposed to practice defense, but I need someone to attack me."
Reign perked up at the chance to use her new weapons. "Okay! I'll be right out. Let me go get them!" She then ran back down the hallway to her room, giving Nikiana another excuse to yell at the two girls. The woman was still yelling through her closed office door when Reign ran back by and went outside, closing the sliding door behind her.
Reign set the case down at the patio table just outside the kitchen door and took out three of the knives. One for each hand and one for her tail. "I haven't sharpened them yet," she told her sister. "So they won't cut you easily."
Alaqua nodded and the two moved out to the grass. Reign started off easy on her sister, to let her get used to the stick and the different type of weapon. And the fact that there were three of them.
Slowly, the attacks sped up as Alaqua got a better grasp on defending herself. Reign was moving about, which helped force Ala to move as well. She wasn't as stiff as a board, like she'd been in class. The less she was actually thinking about it, the better she got.
The two girls sparred for quite some time until they were interrupted by Niki coming outside. "Okay girls. It's time fo- ARE YOU GUYS FIGHTING?!" The last part was screamed. She'd been glad that they'd stopped yelling and running around the house and now she had found them outside fighting with weapons. "ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL EACH OTHER?!"
"Relax, Mom." Alaqua walked over to where Nikiana was about to freak out on them both. "My teacher said I needed to practice. Reign was helping me." If she mentioned it was schoolwork, it would go over much easier with her mother. Ala had learned this.
"BUT WITH ACTUAL WEAPONS?! WHY COULDN'T YOU BOTH JUST USE STICKS?"
"Because Reign isn't used to a staff. She learned how to use her knives. Besides, I don't even have a real staff... maybe if you bought two we could use those to practice with instead..."
Niki glared at the koala girl. "We'll talk about that later. It's dinner time. Reign, go put your knives away. Ala, get Bob to come on in. And both of you go wash your hands." With that, she went back inside to finish setting the table for their evening meal.

Shopping for... womanly items...
Niki had just about smacked herself in the head when she realized something. Reign was growing into a fine young woman. And that meant that she needed certain things. Groaning, for the woman had figured that Ala would be the first to start reaching puberty and thus the first to have to have this trip with, Niki was taken a bit by surprise. Not that one could really blame her... too much.
Having dropped off Ala and Bob for class, Niki turned to her other daughter. "We need to go shopping."
Reign's eyes lit up. Her mother had just said the magical phrase. This was one girl who loved her shopping. In fact, it was her favorite sport. Okay, so shopping wasn't really a sport, but it was in this girl's eyes and everyone who thought otherwise was just stupid. Okay, so maybe not stupid, but that was a different story.
So the two drove to the mall, which... was a mistake to begin with. It was close to Christmas and Gaians were darting here and there, trying to get in their last minute shopping before the holiday. Groaning at the traffic and the large number of idiots (apparently, the Chatterbox had released it's prisoners for the holiday) about, Niki took the first parking spot she could find.
After a fifteen minute hike to the mall, Niki and Reign entered the chaos within. They weaved their way through the crowds, holding hands so they wouldn't lose one another. Nikiana bypassed all the busy electronics and toy stores, heading for the department store at the end.
It wasn't much better, but as they made their way back towards the clothing area, the crowds died down some. Reign started to dart over to the junior's section, but Niki held onto her daughter, shaking her head. "No, we're going to a different area."
A bit confused, the teenager followed her mother over to the lingerie area. "Uh... Mom?"
Niki blushed a bit. "Reign, you're growing up. And you need... women things to wear under your clothes..."
Reign suddenly realized what her mother was trying to say. "Oh! I need a bra!" she said, a bit too loudly for her mother's tastes.
"Uh, yeah. So, let's figure out what size you need... You just need an A cup right now... I think you might be a bit too big for the training bras..." And thus, Niki started browsing the items, selecting a few different band sizes. "Go try these on. I'll help you find one that fits just right, so let me know when you've got it on."
"Mom...." Reign whined as she was herded towards the dressing room. "I think I can figure that out on my own."
"I just want to make sure... When you find the right size, we'll get you several ones." Niki paused outside the door, letting Reign go on in.
After a few minutes, Reign quietly called for her mother. "I think this one's right."
Niki glanced about before opening the door to slip in. Not that she was worried about people thinking she was some kind of pervert or something, but she didn't want people to be able to see in as she entered. She closed the door, then looked over at Reign. "Hmm..." She tightened the shoulder straps and had Reign turned around a few times. "Yup. That one works. You can get dressed and we'll go find some in that size."
Niki slipped back out and headed for the rack that had the size marked on it. She was soon joined by her daughter, who seemed a bit embarassed to be carrying the bra. "Here..." she muttered, handing it to Niki.
The woman grinned, taking the plain white bra. "Well, with some of your dresses, you'll need a strapless.... and a couple of plain ones for daily wear... might as well get two strapless..." Niki muttered as she picked several off the rack. "There we go. That should do until you grow more and need a bigger size."
They headed towards the nearest checkout, which luckily had a female cashier, who just smiled at the two of them. "First time shopping for these?" She asked Reign as she scanned the items.
The teen nodded, a bit shyly and the woman smiled. "You get used to it, dearie. Just like shopping for other womanly needs..."
And Niki just about groaned. Yup, hitting puberty meant other changes would be happening to her daughter soon... and that meant another shopping trip. Though that one wouldn't be near as bad as this one. Then again, she could just pick up an extra package when she went shopping and tell Reign about it in the comfort of their own home... That sounded much better....

Christmas!!
Niki awoke early to the girls pounding on her door. "Wake up, Mom!" Ala shouted. The mother groaned, glancing over at her alarm clock. It was 7:23. She grunted, slowly dragging herself out of bed.
"Hurry, Mom! We wanna open our presents!" Reign chimed in.
"I'ma comin'..." Niki told her girls, stumbling to the door. She was greeted by two very awake girls, both eager to open their gifts. "Let me go to the bathroom first..." She told them as they raced off to the living room.
Bob was already in the living room, sniffing at several of the boxes under the tree.
"Ala, get him away from those!" Reign complained. "He might break something."
The brass wyrmling snorted at the chimp girl, wandering over to his partner to flop down at her feet. Ala grinned and patted the poor dragon, glancing over her shoulder as her mother appeared.
"Okay, you two. Sit down on the floor. I'll start bringing your gifts over to you."
Reign and Alaqua scampered over to find spots on the floor. Bob didn't even bother to move and watched as Niki started picking up gifts and handing them one at a time to each girl.
Reign ended up with several new dresses and ribbons and accesories. Ala had some new jeans and a few new shirts. The two sighed as all they opened was clothes at first. Then Niki grinned and handed each a box with some holes in them.
Both girls blinked and opened their boxes. Reign's held a little reindeer imp and Ala's held a little reindeer dragon. Both girls grinned. "I name you Rudy," they declared in unison, then glared at one another while Niki burst out laughing.

After a moment, the two girls recovered. "Open up yours, Mom!" Reign declared.
Niki picked up her own gifts and took them to the couch to open while both girls watched. The first, from Reign, held a little imp of purple and white. The thing looked so sleepy. Niki grinned, "I'm gonna name him Li."

"Li?" Ala asked.
Nikiana grinned. "Yup, short for Lilac..."
Ala groaned, then encouraged her mother to open the one from her. Niki grinned and opened it up, blinking at the second little candycane-themed pet. "Hmm... I'll name him Stripe."

"Thank you, girls." Niki grinned and hugged her two kids, wondering at this sudden increase in the household, what with two more dragons (though little ones) and two imps.
Bob snorted, bored. So what was the big deal with all of this, anyways? Ala grinned. "Come on, Bob. We'll get you that steak that Mom bought for your present." The brass dragonet perked up at that and scampered into the kitchen.

Musings
Nikiana was home again after that interesting adventure. She sat on the couch, having rehomed the statue to a place where it wouldn't be able to fall on anyone. Now the woman sat in the living room, pondering just what to tell the girls. She was going to have to tell them something. Especially since the two were going to be getting some siblings.
As the woman was thinking, Reign arrived home. "Hey, Mom." The teenager greeted her mother as she closed the front door.
"Reign, I've gotta go pick up Ala. Come along with me. I need to talk to you girls."
The chimp girl blinked, then shrugged. "Okay."
The woman and her daughter got into the jeep and started the long drive out to the D-corp building. "Whatcha gotta talk about, Mom?" Reign asked.
"Wait until we pick up your sister. I want to tell you both at the same time." Reign accepted that answer with a nod. The pair rode on in silence until they arrived at the D-corp building. As they pulled up, the doors opened and Alaqua and Bob strolled outside. They'd been waiting in the lobby for Niki to drive up. Now the girl opened the back hatch for Bob to hop in. The brass wyrmling was starting to get too big to be riding in the back any more, but he still could fit for now. Then Ala shut the hatch and hopped into the back seat, the lone seat left up as the other seats in the back were laid down to give Bob more room. And so he could see Ala better.
Niki started driving back home, silent for a moment. Reign glanced over at the woman, but didn't say anything. Finally, Niki spoke. "Girls... we need to talk about something." Both girls tried to think rather quickly of what they might've done that their mother might've found out about. Niki paused, trying to figure out a good way of saying what she needed to say. "Girls... you're getting siblings."
"WHAT?!?" Both girls cried out in response to that comment. Then both broke into a babble of questions that Niki couldn't make out.
"GIRLS! Calm down!" Niki glanced over at Reign, then in the rearview mirror at Ala. Then she sighed. "It's not like I exactly picked this. Apparently I was 'chosen'... or some nonsense like that. I don't have a choice. You're getting two siblings in a couple of days."
The two girls grumbled as they digested this information. Then, Reign piped up, "But, Mom? Where are they going to stay?"
Ala's eyes widened. "I'm not sharing my room with anyone but Bob!!"
Niki waved one hand at the girls. "I'll probably have to move my office down to the basement and put them in there... or something..." It hit the woman that Tara might be able to do something to help her out here. Like add an additional room to the house. Or maybe two while she was at it. Like another bathroom. It was bad enough with three females sharing one bathroom. The woman's thoughts came to a halt and she turned her attention back to the discussion at hand. "Another thing... these are going to be babies," Niki added as she turned the car into the driveway.
The girls groaned. "Babies?" Reign asked.
"Like the little spewing, crying, pooping machines??" Ala added.
Niki put the vechile into park, then glared at her two girls. "Babies. So you two are going to have to help me some, okay?"
All she got in response was some grunting and the opening of doors as the girls vacated the car and headed for the house, Ala pausing long enough to open the hatch for Bob. Niki shut off the engine and went into the house in time to hear two bedroom doors slam shut. Sighing, she flopped down onto the couch.

Journal Entry: 01/17/07
Okay, so just as Reign, Ala, and I are getting used to being a family and getting adjusted with Bob and the mini-dragons and imps now running around the house as well, I suddenly get these twins dumped on me. Wonderful. Just what I needed... not.
The girls haven't been happy about this whole thing, but the boys have been pretty good babies. They do what all other babies do. They cry, poop, and sleep. Reign seems to be warming up to them a little faster than Ala. I think the koala girl's just going through a tough time. She's gone through this once before when Reign arrived and now she's having to deal with her 'little' sister being older than her now. I think she's also having a problem adjusting to the whole 'becoming-a-teenager' thing.
Reign wasn't a big problem when she became a teenager. In fact, she hardly changed. She still loves to shop and wear frilly dresses and ribbons. She didn't have attitude problems or anything. Ala's starting to get a temper and be hateful to everyone in the house. I'm having problems with her minding me as she's starting to try and be her own person now, though I'm afraid she's trying to grow up too fast and keep up with her sister.
