Jamaa smiled and then nodded. "Hm, Jamaa heard from a friend of mine that he is near the watering hole." he turned around, facing the direction of the gathering place. "Maybe if we get there fast enough, we might catch him." He started a slow trott and then into a slow jog just to let the pup stick with him. Rather not lose the pack leader's pup in the dark night with that jackal running around.

While small, Kadogo was actually quite fast, running to match his trot happily. This was more like it. A night time hunt, through silvery grass with the moon graining height in the sky. If only Jamaa didn't have a jackal to deal with...it could have been fun.
"Ok. You can be alpha out here, I'll follow."

This pup talks funny. Do all pups from the Mpinzani pack talk funny? Kizaki spoke just like Jamaa and Kadogo talked the way he did. Odd, huh?
Jamaa poked his nose out of the tall grass just a little was from the watering hole where the animals of the Pride Lands gathered. He was just sitting there idly as if he was waiting for something. The pain from their encounter flared inside him again. Then the pain from losing Kizaki to the two-leggers. Those pains converged together as it grew stronger until it reached the level of hate and anger.
Without any hesitation, Jamaa dashed from the grass and lunged onto the smaller creature, maw ajar, readily to come down onto the jackal to end it all in an instant.

Kadogo stopped short of the pair, behind the elder dog. His hackles raised and he growled as well as he was able. His friend Dafina had taught him how to growl properly and he'd back up Jamaa best as he could now. He might be the runt but Kadogo would be useful, he would.

The jackal's green eyes spread wide open at the sudden attack. But the fear melted away as he discovered who it was.
"Ah, Jamaa it's only you. I thought you were that pesky lion again." he smiled. "So what brings you out here at night? Especially with a pup with you?" he laughed. Especially after losing your own to the humans. Are you trying to replace her?"------ Jamaa's mouth closed. Maybe he was right....was he trying to replace Kizaki with Dahti's son? Why was he attacking this jackal again? Just being near this creature would put the strongest mind into a pool of confusion.
"Goma....what are you going here....you know I will kill you." he whispered just out of Kadogo's hearing.------- "Well, I was waiting for someone, but you rudely interrupted. Maybe next time you can be more polite to others higher than you. Got it memorized?" he mocked. This jackal didn't care about anyone but himself. He was a manipulative, coneiving widget.
"Go home before your alpha figures out that his son's here in the Pride Lands with a blood thirsty mutt."

So many cocky retorts came to mind. Kadogo had imitated Jamaa's speech a few minutes before, but he could think of some very fluid biting senteance to use. But he was second to the elder dog and so didn't dare talk to the other canine.
Goma had stolen Jamaa's pup. It was Jamaa's place to teach the scum a lesson.

Thoughts ran through the older canine's mind. Dhati is the pack leader. Kadogo is the pack leader's son, Dhati's son. What if he gets crossed with Jamaa and kicks him out? What would happen to Temari? WHat would happen to everything he dreamt of with her? Will all go down the drain?
Homu Goma'ota was right
Jamaa released the jackal allowing him to get up. Neither of them spoke. The strange jackal grinned and started to walk away. Jamaa growled and then turned his head to the little pup. Why didn't he say anything? This isn't the packlands so superiority was not a matter out here....so why? Maybe it was how he was raised being the son of the Alpha.
"Kadogo, come, let's go home." just as he spoke the jackal said something that he did not, but was aware of. Jamaa's golden eyes turned to the corners. "What was that, Goma?"
The jackal smirked with a maleviolent grin.

"Are you finished here then Jamaa?" The pup came to stand closer to his fellow packmember, looking up at him. "I didn't want to interrupt and did not hear all that was said..."
Brown eyes turned to look at the jackal. Just look. Not glare. Simply looking, studying, filing away his apparence. Most of the other pups had declaired his look of Kadogo's creepy. Another adolescent he'd talked too had said it looked 'too old' for such a young one, and too disantly cold.
Not that he cared what Goma thought of this look. Kadogo just wanted to remember.

The jackal shrugged at the comment of the older, taller canine. Jamaa also disregarded it. Perhaps this isn't the time for such a thing. The pack comes before him.
"Come, Kadogo, let's go back home." he started to walk past the little pup, still heavy on each step. Just as he passed the younger wild dog Jamaa whispered something.
"Let's keep this between us, 'kay? Rather not have your strong father wailing on Jamaa now, would ya?" he joked, completely acting as if Goma was never there and this entire event never happened.

The younger canine spared the jackal one more long look before offering Jamaa a smile. Time to go home, then. Fine by Kadogo.
"Alright Jamaa. And I won't tell my father, though I doubt he'd be mad...probably hasn't noticed I've been missing."
Kaddy placed one black paw over Jamaa's lightly, before starting towards home for afew steps. "Thanks for letting me team up with you. I was kind of lost."

Jamaa smiled back warmly. He nodded as the little pup spoke. Well, hopefully Dhati really didn't notice him missing and that he wouldn't wail on Jamaa. The pack is all he had as a real whole family; a father, a mother, a sister, a mate, and lots of littuns running around. What could be better. Jamaa loved what he had and feared losing it.
"Come, let's go. Jamaa is starting to miss that ol' den." he laughed as he started off back to the pack lands with the little Dhati pup.
