I joined to this guild shortly after this was created. I was also a member in the old guild what was in Guilds-subforum.. And that's the one reason why I joined to this guild. Other is, that I wanted to get to know other Finns too. And speak Finnish..
I'm living in Hamina (Finland). I have lived here 4½ years and before that I lived in Oulu. I was born in there.
My real name is Merja and most of my friends call me by that name. But in Gaia, I want to be called as meppu, not Merja.

I had an old friend, he was an exchange student - He came here from finland for about three years. We were really good friends, Him me and his twin sister, we were really close. But he had to move away, we still talk and that, but its harder to do that now. Id like to get to know more finnish people, and people who like it too.
He got me interested in the culture and the language - However the food Im not fond of! biggrin

Hmmmm I am about to go to Finland to visit a friend and need to learn the language, speaking and reading it. I want to disguard using english in any form because its like the saying when you're in another country learn the language. To me it feels shameful to ask a finnish person to speak in english because I don't understand Finnish.

i listen to the rasmus for a long time and i wanted to meet more finnish fans...(which im not sure there is much in here...but!)also i have 2 cousing living there right now for college, and my grandparents visit finland a lot since they travel on europe right now( mostly because they have nothing better to do and my granddad is from spain)..oh! and i have this finnish dictionary so im still tryng to learn it mucb better.. 4laugh

Over a year ago I came across Angels Fall First by Nightwish and heard the Finnish language for the first time. I fell in love at that moment and I have been in the process of learning Finnish ever since. Unfortunately I haven't had as much time (or items to translate) as I would have liked to complete my lessons. In addition to learning Finnish I have also thought about moving to Finland one day. To that end I have been learning about Finnish culture too. Anyway, that's my reason for being here. Thanks for having me! ^_^

i started teaching myself finnish on 6th grade so im currently still doing that but i have no luck at it..one of my fav bands is finnish so i really wanted to learn finnish but when i started i became interested in finland too...so i love eveything about the language and the country 4laugh

I'm Finnish, but I've been living in Australia my whole life really. But I've always had an interest in my Finnish blood-line! blaugh And I've always wanted to visit there. My parents always say they'll take me, but they still haven't.. gonk And now I'm 18.One day me and my boyfriend will probably visit there!
I joined the guild mainly to learn to speak more Finnish, 'cause I keep forgetting words my dad's tried teaching me! whee And I'd kind of like to understand my mummu when she randomly starts talking Finnish half way through an English sentence..

Well... I saw this guild, and then I had a flashback to all the good times I had, when all the little finnish kids (they're so mean!) made fun of me as a child. In Varkaus and Imatra. Though, the guys ARE pretty damn hot... I'll admit that... but seriously, finland isn't the best place for going to Kindergarten... I learned all of my swear words there. Fun, fun.
But, this week, I found out that I'm moving back, but this time to Kuopio. And I'll admit that I'm scared. I like big cities, ones that I can get lost in... But this is just scary... T crying T

I joined because I am completely enamoured with the Finnish language (unfortunately, I am also learning 11 other languages so, I don't have a lot of time for it crying ). I also enjoy finnish music and food (Salmiakki is love heart ).
I am actually half Danish, so I feel a strong connection to the scandinavian countries in general. as far as I know, I don't have any Finnish ancestry (though it is possible).

I blame Jazzy-Devine blaugh who got me into HIM, which in turn got me into The Rasmus, then Uniklubi, then I looked up to other Finnish bands, heard the language which is kaunis (beautiful/pretty). Then, I saw this in my search on gaia for Finnish things, and BOOM. I sent in my request; the rest of the story writes itself. 3nodding

a-complete-mess I'm afraid the guild doesn't give me much in this sence. Unfortunately very few of finns talk to non-finns here... crying I'm personally terribly sorry about this one, I kind joined this guild as being finnish my self.. Tho I shall be looking this part more often now aswell. This guild kinda was only place in Gaia for me to talk only finnish and kinda the foreigners interested of Finland, planning to move here, or wanting speak finnish.. Kinda didn't notice this part before neither sweatdrop (Until I realized how there are people quite interested of our country.. (Like my girlfriend from Singapore heart ) Anyways, late welcome to all of you here from me aswell.. Looking forward to talking with you wink
