Uumi gave Taabu an awkward little smile, before glancing over his shoulder, expression hardening. "Just stop speaking, Denahi. We're not leaving my mother's lands, we're just getting the hell away from you." He eyed his daughter for a moment. "Hmph. She has a lot to learn." He muttered and turned away again. Though he could understand why she'd dislike rogues. He himself had, though he'd tangled himself up with one for a good while, hadn't he? [aka. sy. duh.] But it turned out she was part of some kind of blood that had her mother taking control of some land he hadn't heard of before.

So in reality he had chosen someone of royal blood, and not a rogue. But to do that in prides? He turned again, speaking to Bari and not Denahi. "Listen you, you're not better a rogue than anyone else who hold position in a pride. You have no position, and just because your mother is a princess it means nothing, you don't do anything but laze around and follow your father about, whining like a little brat. How is that any different than a rogue who struggles to live, even as a cub? Who isn't sitting, fat on their backside, waiting for the kill to be brought to them?" Then his eyes turned to Denahi. "Maybe you should teach your kid a thing or two. Unless you want her to grow up as a biased, nasty little brat... wait, that'd be just like you." He shrugged his shoulders lightly.

So Uumi had grown up... er, in some ways. I don't think he should be provoking Denahi.. but his words did make sense... too bad he couldn't have worded them differently, though. He went back to watching where he was going, tail flicking carefully.

"No," came her voice, more of a commanding tone in it - though she didn't really mean to throw that in, it was a way she spoke to Taabu when he wouldn't behave (not that that was often), "you stay here with your daughter. We're planning on leaving soon, anyway, so there's no need for both of us to leave at once. That might have you bumping into us again." She stood there, half turned, watching him as she did so.

"And have you no idea that we all needed you in some way? Tamu needed you to be an older brother, help him when he was eating himself alive. Father and Mother needed you as a son, for they loved us all equallly even if in different ways, and ubdoubtedly now they cannot feel whole," she swallowed, shaking her head slowly, "and I needed you. To be a brother I could depend on, instead of fighting with me constantly. I needed you because you were, in a sense, of the closest similarity to me. If you had not been so prideful and bloodthirsty, perhaps it would have been different, perhaps I would not have had to leave in order to find someone I could relate to." She through her gaze over her shoulder - watching Uumi as he sauntered off with her son, "we all almost lost things, Denahi," was all she said next, soft and gentle. Oh yes, moving had almost cost her Uumi - someone she had her claws in from the start.

She turned then, starting to walk, slow and pride as it was, "and she'd do well to learn that her father was a rogue before he was ever a Prince. She and Taabu are of exact alignment in nobility - and yet, he is not so full of hot air." She smirked to herself, a cold curl of her maw, "be careful, she might turn out like Uumi. He was worse before I met him." It was just a bit of an amusing word, kind towards her lover, only teasing - but truthful.

Uumi had been an a*****e and apparently, it was genetic. Poor Baridi; she got the gene from both side.

Taabu just walked calmly at his father's side, head held high, and pretending not to hear a thing of what passed between his mother and his Uncle - or his father, included. He just glanced up to his father, tail flicking behind him as he counted in his head - something he had learned to do since being around his father, but it was obvious he still did it, considering the way his eyes seemed more intense, like he was thinking over two things at once. "Where should we go to hunt the fireflies?" he asked with a purr, ignoring completely now the uncle and cousin he cared little for.
